Race 6 - # 11 Atta Boy Pete (Final Odds 5.80) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 2 Calculator (1.00*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Santa Maria - # 8 Tara's Tango (1.90*) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 7 Lady Valeur (1.10*) - "B" Selection
One of the problems trainers face when prepping a Graded Stakes winner in an Allowance race is that the horse doesn't know that it's just a prep; so when # 7 Fusaichi Samurai (6.10) came on in the stretch Calculator, instead of just going through the motions, fought him hammer and tongs through the drive to secure the win by a neck. Which was good for us, as any other result would have turned our tickets into trash; but thanks in large part to Calculator's victory, this was a day for us to cash rather than contribute.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other runners to which we were alive in the finale:
# 3 Lottie (4.50) - $133.25 Finish: 4th
# 6 Award It (7.30) - $278.35 Finish: 3rd
# 10 Tinderella (GB) (6.40) - $152.40 Finish: 5th
# 11 Candy Genovesa (8.90) - $288.05 Finish: 10th
But that's what might have been. The actual winning Pick Four sequence of 11 / 2 / 8 / 7 paid $94.00 for a fifty cent wager. That makes for a profit of $41.50 on our $52.50 investment, or approximate odds of 0.79-1.
I hope you all had it with me. May God bless us as we spend our winnings.
Onto the next race!
Peace and Love,
Jimbo
