Race 6 - # 6 Guns Loaded (Final Odds 6.80) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 3 Bad Read Sanchez (0.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Buena Vista - # 11 Paulina's Love (3.80) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 10 Papa's Maggie (1.60*) - "A" Selection
We used six runners in Race 7 and another seven runners in Race 9 just to land on the Post Time Favorite in each contest. Not exactly a stellar bit of handicapping on my part. However, in fairness to us, we weren't the only ones who saw all the red flags surrounding Bad Read Sanchez and got a little nervous, as not a single connection was willing to pony up the $12.5k that would have netted them the Show finisher in last year's Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other runners to which we were alive in the finale:
# 2 Valborg Matilda (32.10) - $1792.00 Finish: 8th
# 5 Patience Lady (6.40) - $433.15 Finish: 7th
# 7 Pam’s Joy (5.70) - $553.45 Finish: 3rd
# 11 Nakoma (37.70) - $1606.35 Finish: 5th
But that's what might have been. The actual winning Pick Four sequence of 6 / 3 / 11 / 10 paid $153.05 for a fifty cent wager. That makes for a profit of $74.05 on our $79.00 investment, or approximate odds of 0.93-1.
I hope you all had it with me. May God bless us as we spend our winnings.
Onto the next race!
Peace and Love,
Jimbo
