3/13/21 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 2 Tobacco Road (Final Odds 6.90) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - The San Simeon - # 2 Gregorian Chant (GB) (3.90) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - The Beholder Mile - # 1 Swiss Skydiver (1.40*) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 5 Bench Judge (2.60*) - "A" Selection

Congrats to Swiss Skydiver and her connections, as the 2020 Preakness Stakes winner had absolutely no problem firing off the layoff, easily winning Saturday's running of the Beholder Mile, and in the process (as I feared) making me look foolish for not having used her as a big ticket single.

Had I singled Swiss Skydiver, would I have found Tobacco Road in the opening leg?  Probably not.  Just two starts back, at Saturday's distance of seven furlongs over the Santa Anita main track, Tobacco Road had finished behind three of those that he was facing again today; so it's unlikely that I would have handicapped Tobacco Road to leapfrog over those three, as well outperform the class dropping # 5 Oil Can Knight (1.20*).  Maybe if I single Swiss Skydiver in the Beholder Mile I go "ALL" in the opening leg; otherwise, I don't think I find myself on Tobacco Road.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  2 / 2 / 1 / 5  were rewarded with a payout of $320.90 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
