Race 7 - The San Luis Rey - # 3 United (0.90*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 4 Fratelli (4.70) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 1 Man Friday (8.60) - "C" Selection
Someone please be kind enough to remind me the next time I think that the Favorite in a Graded Stakes needs a race that he doesn't; because, for the second week in a row, I should have singled the obvious top choice in the featured race, but instead failed to even make them my "A" Selection.
Not that using United in the San Luis Rey as a "B" Selection instead of an "A" Selection Saturday made any difference to my bottom line. The error that cost me was not choosing the correct contest in which to spread wide. I thought the opening leg was the race that was wide open where punters should consider going "ALL"; but that event was won easily by the Post Time Favorite, Street Behavior. Meanwhile, the final leg of the sequence, which I handicapped to be formful, proved to be otherwise, being won by the second highest priced winner on the day (the highest priced winner Saturday being # 4 Palace Prince (32.90), who captured Race 3).
Oh well, onto the next race.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the five runners to which I would have cashed in the final leg:
# 5 No Foolery Here (2.40*) - $90.00 Finish: 6th
# 7 Batukhan (Ire) (25.80) - $377.65 Finish: 9th
# 9 Hudson Ridge (5.00) - $123.35 Finish: 5th
# 10 Eagle Chief (4.10) - $116.75 Finish: 3rd
# 11 Enough Nonsense (4.50) - $165.05 Finish: 7th
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of 2 / 3 / 4 / 1 were rewarded with a payout of $332.70 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
Peace and Love,
Jimbo
