My Samurai Warrior wired $50k open claimers last time out on the Santa Anita dirt. If he can carry that form onto the polytrack today, the early quickness should overcome the rise in class.
Whine for Wine missed by less than a length last time out at this class level, albeit on the Santa Anita dirt. This will be Whine for Wine's second start off an approximate three month layoff; Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer wins with a little over twenty percent of such.
Derringer took the Place last time out at this class level; yes, on the Santa Anita dirt (oh how happy I'll be when all the SoCal main tracks are dirt). Derringer and Kristo are the only two horses in this field to have hit the board more than once when competing on the Del Mar main track.

Dancinthenightaway is making her turf debut, as well as facing winners for the first time; not the qualities that you look for in a short priced entrant. However, she was well clear in her debut win on the dirt, and four of her opponents here are also winless on the grass; so she definitely warrants respect here.
Backwoods Belle won an OC N1X at today's distance against open company upstate the last time that she was on the grass. Backwoods Belle certainly has the speed to lead this pack around the track.
Hansarella is the only runner in this field to have finished in the money on this turf course. Vegas Rules and Cal Gal should both improve with the turn back in distance. Moving Desert is multiple state bred stakes placed on dirt and synthetics; it's possible she may show some class on the grass today.
RACE 8 - [S] The Cary Grant $100k - Seven Furlongs Synthetic

Red Outlaw is undefeated in six lifetime starts, including two stakes wins over this main track. Big Macher is a Graded Stakes winner over this main track. Patriots Rule is on the ticket just in case Red Outlaw and Big Macher kill each other before the wire.

Waitwaitdonttellme took the Show against ALW N1X company the last time she routed on the grass. Craving Carats took the Place at this class level at today's distance two starts back.
Miceli has quick early foot and should appreciate the class relief. Mambo Man, a two-time stakes winner at Turf Paradise earlier this year, should also appreciate taking a step down on the class ladder. Sizzlin' Joe took the Show at this class level two starts back.
