We had the Place horse in both Race 9 and Race 10, as # 6 Hoppertunity (2.90) and # 8 Diablo Caballero (4.40) were on the wrong end of photos in each of their respective races, losing by a combined margin of defeat less than the length of a typical television remote control. But lose by an inch or lose by a mile a loss is still a loss, and the bottom line is that our horses were on the wrong side of the wire when the camera snapped its pictures.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 5 / 7 / 2 / 12 were rewarded with a payout of $1,516.35 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
