4/24/21 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Results

Race 9 - The San Francisco Mile - # 3 Whisper Not (GB) (Final Odds 1.40*) - "B" Selection
Race 10 - The California Oaks - # 7 Pizzazz (2.60*) - "B" Selection
Race 11 - The Camilla Urso - # 5 Gypsy Spirit (GB) (30.40) - "C" Selection
Race 12 - The Lost in the Fog - # 7 Anyportinastorm (5.30) - "B" Selection

The Camilla Urso is a five furlong turf sprint; and if there's any horse race that seems to generate more than its fair share of long shot winners, it's five furlong turf sprints.  So when seen from that perspective, it probably would have been wiser on my part to go more than just two deep in that leg.  On the other hand, I could see myself going six deep in that contest and still not finding Gypsy Spirit (GB).

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  3 / 7 / 5 / 7  were rewarded with a payout of $1,564.00 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

“It’s simple… go the extra mile and you will stand out from the crowd.” - Robin Crow

It San Francisco Mile Day at Golden Gate, with the Grade 3 turf event kicking off a final four of all stakes races.  So let's get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 9 - The San Francisco Mile (Grade 3) - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 6 Border Town (Morning Line 7-2)

B's

# 3 Whisper Not (GB) (ML 3-1)
# 5 Ohio (Brz) (ML 6-1)
# 7 Brown Storm (Chi) (ML 9-2)

C's

# 1 Kiwi's Dreams (Aus) (ML 5-1)
# 2 Keeper Ofthe Stars (ML 6-1)
# 4 Diamond Blitz (ML 30-1)
# 8 Restrainedvengence (ML 6-1)

Border Town and Brown Storm (Chi) ship in from Santa Anita, where last time out they filled out the bottom two slots of the Trifecta in a $100k Optional Claimer.  Whisper Not (GB), another downstate shipper, could prove to be quickest in this field, and the one that they'll have to catch if they want to win.  Conversely, Ohio (Brz) could be the one running best late.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 10 - (F) The California Oaks $75k - Eight and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 Risen Lady (ML 6-1)

B's

# 2 Joymaker (ML 20-1)
# 6 Liam's Secret (ML 12-1)
# 7 Pizzazz (ML 3-1)
# 11 Freedom Flyer (ML 7-2)

C's

# 3 A Real Hero (ML 12-1)
# 4 Styledome (Ire) (ML 4-1)
# 5 Ida Claire (ML 8-1)
# 8 Miss Peaky Blinder (ML 10-1)
# 9 Empire House (ML 10-1)
# 10 Misty Cat (ML 50-1)

Risen Lady, Freedom Flyer, and Liam's Secret all exit the same $50k Optional Claimer where they filled out the Trifecta.  Just two starts back, Joymaker was only a neck behind Risen Lady at the line in a contest over this main track at today's distance.

Pizzazz should appreciate the class relief that she is getting here, and Pizzazz has been working well leading up to this contest.  The only question with Pizzazz is how she will handle the surface.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 11 - (F) The Camilla Urso $75k - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 10 Acting Out (ML 4-1)

B's

# 7 Dynasty of Her Own (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Square Peggy (ML 20-1)
# 2 Storming Lady (ML 8-1)
# 3 Red Livy (Ire) (ML 50-1)
# 4 Sadie Bluegrass (ML 9-2)
# 5 Gypsy Spirit (GB) (ML 15-1)
# 6 Nardini (ML 8-1)
# 8 Bohemian Bourbon (ML 7-2)
# 9 Gotham Desire (ML 12-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles: # 11 Habobanero (ML 30-1); # 12 Gayles Evening (ML 30-1); # 13 Five Pics Please (ML 4-1); # 14 Lotsa Pepper (ML 20-1)

Acting Out should benefit from the cutback in distance, as well as the return to the turf.  Dynasty of Her Own enters this contest with a two race winning streak, and Dynasty of Her Own seems well meant here.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 12 - The Lost in the Fog $75k - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 6 Baja Sur (ML 3-1)

B's

# 1 Thanks Mr. Eidson (ML 8-1)
# 7 Anyportinastorm (ML 6-1)
# 8 Jamming Eddy (ML 6-1)

C's

# 2 Sunset Dragunn (ML 12-1)
# 3 Silent Movies (ML 30-1)
# 4 Bettor Trip Nick (ML 4-1)
# 5 El Chavo Del Ocho (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 9 Landeskog (ML 5-2)

Baja Sur is a two time stakes winner over this main track.  Baja Sur may have needed that last race off the layoff, where he took the Place while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite.  With the scratch of Morning Line Favorite Landeskog, Thanks Mr. Eidson could be quickest here, and the rail draw certainly doesn't hurt Mr. Eidson's chances.

Anyportinastorm won this event two years back, and Anyportinastorm may still have enough left in the tank to compete here.  Jamming Eddy, Place finisher in the Sensational Star last time out, has been working well at Santa Anita.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 6 with 1 with 10 with 6 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 3,5,6,7 with 1,2,6,7,11 with 7,10 with 1,6,7,8 $80.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,2,4,8 with 1 with 10 with 6 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 3,4,5,8,9,10 with 10 with 6 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 1 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9 with 6 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 1 with 10 with 2,3,4,5 $2.00

Total: $92.00

Post Time for Race 9 is 8:07 EDT / 5:07 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

4/17/21 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 1 Alvaaro (Final Odds 1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 1 Night Gig (4.20) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - # 2 Union Dance (5.50) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 1 Midnight Flower (10.30) - "C" Selection

In his most recent start prior to Saturday, Night Gig had taken the Show at the same class level at which he was again competing; an angle which I love to play.  But the Place finisher in that race, # 5 R M C Hook'em (1.40*), was also running Saturday; and R M C Hook'em had crossed under the wire three lengths in front of Night Gig in that prior contest.  Therefore, I thought it best to not give Night Gig a spot on the main ticket.  Needless to say, I thought wrong; and while that wasn't my only mistake, it did help make Saturday a day for me to contribute instead of collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 1 / 2 / 1  were rewarded with a payout of $794.75 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

4/17/21 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Preview

“Impossible is just an opinion.” - Paulo Coelho

The featured race at Santa Anita Saturday is the Grade 2 Californian, which drew a total of five entrants.  The race preceding the Californian on the Arcadia card could only get manage a field of six.  So, facing the prospect of handicapping two tiny fields in a four race sequence, I decided instead this weekend to move my action to the northern section of the state of California.  So with that let's get to it, as I take a run at The Late Pick Four at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 6 - Alw 50000s N2L - Eight and a Half Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 1 Alvaaro (Morning Line 7-5)

B’s

# 2 Galloping Mischief (ML 8-1)
# 4 Dub Town (ML 7-2)

C's

# 3 K P D Day (ML 4-1)
# 5 Rouen (ML 12-1)
# 6 Counting Cards (ML 5-1)
# 7 Brazilian Summer (ML 12-1)

Note for future reference that this contest is for runners which have not won two races in their career; with one exception: one win, and only one win, for $20k or less will not be considered when determining eligibility.  For the record, Alvaaro and Dub Town are the only two runners in this field who have visited the Winner's Circle more than once.

Alvaaro has taken the Place in each of his last two starts, both at this class level.  Alvaaro looks much the best here, and Alvaaro certainly deserves strong consideration as a big ticket single.  The problem is that Alvaaro has disappointed as the Post Time Favorite in four of his last five starts, suggesting that being the most talented runner in the field often isn't enough to get Alvaaro into the winner's circle.

Galloping Mischief and Dub Town are the only two runners in this field who have won on the grass.  Galloping Mischief should appreciate the class relief that he is receiving by shipping in from downstate.  Dub Town projects to be forwardly placed.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - Alw 50000s N2L - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 3 Palaleo (ML 5-2)

B’s

# 5 R M C Hook'em (ML 2-1)

C's

# 1 Night Gig (ML 3-1)
# 2 Hawk Hill (ML 20-1)
# 4 No Parking Here (ML 12-1)
# 6 Our Expectation (ML 10-1)
# 7 Should Be Illegal (ML 9-2)
# 8 Awesome Dude (ML 50-1)

As with Race 6 above, note for future reference that this contest is for runners which have not won two races in their career; with one exception: one win, and only one win, for $20k or less will not be considered when determining eligibility.  For the record, No Parking Here, R M C Hook'em, and Should Be Illegal are the three runners in this field who have visited the Winner's Circle twice.

Palaleo took the Show against classier stock last time out, albeit on the turf.  R M C Hook'em missed victory by just a neck at this class level last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - OC 25k/N1X - Eight and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 5 Claim of Passion ML 5-2)

B’s

# 2 Union Dance (ML 8-1)
# 3 Descartes (ML 10-1)
# 4 More Power to Him (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Shadrack (ML 7-2)
# 6 Respect the Hustle (ML 15-1)
# 7 Ready Say Go (ML 8-1)
# 8 Seeking Refuge (ML 6-1)

For those who note such things, there are two entrants here running with the $25k price tag on their head: More Power to Him and Respect the Hustle.

Claim of Passion took the Place at this class level last time out while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite.  Union Dance was a daylight winner in each of his last two races, and Union Dance should be able to handle the move up the class ladder.

Descartes could be quickest here, and Descartes may be the one that they'll have to catch in order to win.  More Power to Him goes first off the claim for Trainer Jonathan Wong, who tends to do well with such.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 9 - (F) Clm $20k N2X - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 7 Dee Gee (ML 7-2)

B’s

# 2 Maycee Jo (ML 4-1)
# 3 Friend of Autism (ML 6-1)
# 8 Smokin Hot Bobbie (ML 7-2)

C's

# 1 Midnight Flower (ML 5-1)
# 4 Persuasive Lips (ML 5-1)
# 5 Envy (ML 10-1)
# 6 Illapawnie (ML 9-2)

Just for the record, note that Illapawnie runs without fear of being claimed in this race, as Illapawnie is returning from a six month layoff.  Note also that the price tag on Maycee Jo is only $18k, as Maycee Jo's connections have opted to trade $2k on the claim price in exchange for a two pound weight allowance.

Dee Gee and Somkin Hot Bobbie filled out the bottom two rungs of the Trifecta at this class level last time out.  Maycee Jo seems qualified to make this move up the class ladder after having won two of her last three contests by decisive margins.

Friend of Autism could be the one running best late.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1 with 3 with 5 with 7 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,2,4 with 3,5 with 2,3,4,5 with 2,3,7,8 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 3,5,6,7 with 3 with 5 with 7 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 1,2,4,6,7,8 with 5 with 7 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 3 with 1,6,7,8 with 7 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 3 with 5 with 1,4,5,6 $2.00

Total: $58.00

Post Time for Race 6 is 7:02 EDT / 4:02 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

4/10/21 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 4 Colt Fiction (Final Odds 1-1*) - "A" Selection & "B" Selection*
Race 7 - # 5 Truth Seeker (1.90*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 2 Lambeau (16.50) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - # 5 Ensleys Dream (3.90) - "B" Selection

* - # 1 Exaulted, an "A" Selection, was a late scratch from Race 6; I therefore received Post Time Favorite Colt Fiction in his place.

Saturday added another chapter to the book about spreading wide in the wrong leg; as the race where I went "ALL" in, Race 7, was won by the Post Time Favorite (even if by the slimmest of margins); while the big price horse in the sequence, Lambeau in Race 8, was nowhere to be found on my main ticket.  The net result is a play the hits three out of four; a familiar result which pays just as much as zero out of four.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  4 / 5 / 2 / 5  were rewarded with a payout of $291.35 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

"A man can be as great as he wants to be.  If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done." - Vince Lombardi

There's maintenance being done to the turf course in Arcadia this weekend, which means that there was no Friday card, and all of Saturday's and Sunday's races will be run over the main dirt track.  So with that news bite shared let's just get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at The Great Race Place.

RACE 6 - OC 40k/N1X - Seven Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 1 Exaulted (Morning Line  6-5)

B’s

# 4 Colt Fiction (ML 3-1)

C's

# 2 Wrecking Crew (ML 8-1)
# 3 Howbeit (ML 5-1)
# 5 Tizhotndusty (ML 6-1)
# 6 California Street (ML 8-1)
# 7 Golden Star Rock (ML 15-1)

For those who note such things, California Street is the only entrant in this field that is running with the $40k price tag on his head.

Exaulted, Show finisher in the Grade 2 San Carlos last time out, was victorious at this class level two starts back.  So if he's already won at this level, why is Exaulted able to complete in this contest without being in for a tag?  The answer is because Exaulted's victory at this class level two starts back was his first and (so far) only career Win; so with only one career W, Exaulted gets to run here without being up for sale.

Colt Fiction took the Show at this class level last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 7 - Clm $20k - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Causeididitmyway (ML 7-2)

B’s

# 1 Contagion (ML 4-1)
# 2 Conquest Cobra (ML 3-1)
# 3 Swamp Souffle (ML 12-1)
# 5 Truth Seeker (ML 5-2)
# 6 Colosi (ML 3-1)

C's

None

I looked at this one a long, long time, before ultimately deciding that I just couldn't figure it out; which is why I decided to go "ALL" in.  The problem is the Morning Line Favorite, the class dropping Truth Seeker.  Last time out, Truth Seeker took the Show against more expensive stock.  But that Show finish really needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as the contest only had four runners, and Truth Seeker was eleven lengths behind the winner at the line.

So with confidence in the Favorite being something less than rock solid, it's a matter of finding those who seem capable of getting under the wire first.  And, to be honest, I don't see much separating the rest of the field.  Therefore it's everybody into the pool in this leg, with all six runners going onto the main ticket.

RACE 8 - OC 62.5k/N2X - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 7 Bold Endeavor (ML 5-2)

B’s

# 4 Ekklesia (ML 6-1)
# 5 Sash (GB) (ML 5-1)
# 8 Royal Act (ML 10-1)

C's

# 1 Taishan (ML 4-1)
# 2 Lambeau (ML 5-1)
# 3 Charlito (ML 4-1)
# 9 Heywoods Beach (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 6 Country Grammer (No Line)

For those who are curious regarding such matters, none of the runners in this field are in for the $40k claiming price.

Bold Endeavor was victorious at this class level two starts back, and Bold Endeavor took the Place at this class level last time out while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite.  Ekklesia took the Show at this class level last time out while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite.

Sash (GB) puts the blinkers back on and returns to the main track; a combination which saw Sash run a couple of very fine races two and three starts back.  Royal Act closed well while winning two starts back; perhaps Royal Act will be the one running best late today.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 9 - (F) Md $30k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 1 Big Al's Princess (ML 5-1)

B's

# 4 Lulu D' Oro (ML 6-1)
# 5 Ensley's Dream (ML 5-1)
# 7 Medusa's Gaze (ML 4-1)

C's

# 3 Best of Show (ML 8-1)
# 6 Evening Anchor (ML 15-1)
# 8 Molokini (ML 20-1)
# 9 Kind But She Lies (ML 7-2)
# 10 Phillips Lane (ML 15-1)
# 11 Brio Is Awesome (ML 30-1)
# 12 Season to Remember (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 2 Life's Emotions (ML 15-1)

Big Al's Princess and Lulu D' Oro threw down at this class level last time out, taking the Place and Show respectively, just a half length apart at the wire.  Big Al's Princess gets the inside draw today; perhaps that will be the difference maker.

Ensley's Dream and Medusa's Gaze are making the shift from state bred to open company, and both seem quite capable of getting their picture taken today.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1 with 4 with 7 with 1 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,4 with ALL with 4,5,7,8 with 1,4,5,7 $96.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,5,6,7 with 4 with 7 with 1 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 1 with 4 with 1,2,3,9 with 1 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 4 with 7 with 3,6,8,9,10,11,12 $3.50

Total: $105.00

Post Time for Race 6 is 6:47 EDT / 3:47 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

4/3/21 Santa Anita Rainbow Pick Six - Results

Race 7 - # 7 Rip City (Final Odds 0.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Santa Anita Derby - # 3 Rock Your World (5.20) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - The Royal Heroine - # 3 Charmaine's Mia (0.60*) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - The Evening Jewel - # 5 Becca Taylor (1.50*) - "A" Selection
Race 11 - # 12 Quiet Secretary (11.00) - "B" Selection
Race 12 - The Echo Eddie - # 3 The Chosen Vron (0.60*) - "A" Selection & "C" Selection*

* - # 10 Alpine Thunder, a "C" Selection, was a late scratch from Race 12; I therefore received Post Time Favorite The Chosen Vron in his place.

Man, was that a long dry spell!  Yeah, the results could have been better, as I had "B" Selections take the Place behind the Post Time Favorites in three of the six legs; but you'll get no complaints from me, as I'm just grateful that this Saturday was a day for me to collect instead of contribute.

For the record, here are the $0.20 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 4 None Above the Law (10.70) - $3,318.24 Finish: 7th, placed 6th by DQ
# 7 Good With People (7.60) - $3,495.24 Finish: 2nd
# 11 Mister Bold (8.70) - $3,302.82 Finish: 5th, placed 4th by DQ

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Rainbow Pick Six sequence of  7 / 3 / 3 / 5 / 12 / 3 which paid $741.44 for a twenty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $618.04 on my initial $123.40 investment; or approximate odds of 5.01-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

4/3/21 Santa Anita Rainbow Pick Six - Preview

“It’s only by being bold that you get anywhere.” - Richard Branson

Saturday is a mandatory payout day for the Jackpot Pick Six in Arcadia; and while increasing the degree of difficulty during a dry spell may not be the wisest of moves, sometimes you just have to roll the dice and see what happens.  So this Santa Anita Derby Day I'm going all in, as I take a run at The Rainbow Pick Six at The Great Race Place.

RACE 7 - ALW N1X - Nine Furlongs Turf

A's

# 7 Rip City (Morning Line 8-5)

B's

# 8 Coast of Roan (ML 7-2)

C's

# 1 Liberal (Ire) (ML 8-1)
# 2 Club Aspen (ML 8-1)
# 3 Storm the Bastille (Fr) (ML 5-1)
# 4 Motown Music (ML 4-1)
# 5 Gauguin (Ger) (ML 20-1)
# 6 Unilateral (ML 15-1)

Rip City has taken the Place at this class level in each of his last two starts.  Coast of Roan could move up going third off the layoff and stretching out in distance.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - The Santa Anita Derby (Grade 1) - Nine Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 7 Medina Spirit (ML 5-2)

B's

# 3 Rock Your World (ML 4-1)

C's

# 2 Dream Shake (ML 7-2)
# 4 Parnelli (ML 20-1)
# 5 Back Ring Luck (ML 20-1)
# 6 Ottothelegend (ML 12-1)
# 8 Law Professor (ML 10-1)
# 9 The Great One (ML 8-1)
# 10 Defunded (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 1 Roman Centurian (ML 8-1)

With Life is Good on the shelf, Medina Spirit looks to be the best three year old competing on the West Coast.  Rock Your World, a daylight winner is both of his career starts on the turf, is trying dirt for the first time.  Rock Your World has had some solid morning workouts over the main track; Rock Your World is sired by Candy Ride (Arg) out of an Empire Maker mare; Rock Your World is trained by John Sadler, who tends to do well when taking his runners off the grass; so, maybe.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 9 - (F) The Royal Heroine (Grade 2) - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 3 Charmaine's Mia (ML 8-5)

B's

# 1 Dogtag (ML 8-1)

C's

# 2 Tapwater (ML 6-1)
# 4 Warren's Showtime (ML 8-1)
# 5 Raymundos Secret (ML 4-1)
# 6 Laura's Light (ML 6-1)
# 7 Rideforthecause (ML 6-1)
# 8 Ippodamia's Girl (ML 15-1)

Charmaine's Mia, winner of a pair of Graded Stakes since joining the barn of Trainer Phil D'Amato, looks to be in top form.  Dogtag should improve with the return to turf.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 10 - (F) [S] The Evening Jewel $150k - Six and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 5 Becca Taylor (ML 5-2)

B's

# 4 Maybe I Will (ML 6-1)
# 9 Pray for My Owner (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Governor Goteven (ML 8-1)
# 2 I'm So Anna (ML 10-1)
# 3 Fi Fi Pharoah (ML 6-1)
# 6 Dylans Wild Cat (ML 10-1)
# 7 Big Clare (ML 12-1)
# 8 Pawnee (ML 8-1)

Becca Taylor is undefeated in three lifetime starts.  Maybe I Will was an easy winner against open (non-state bred restricted) company last time out.

Pray for My Owner projects to be the one that they'll have to catch to win.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 11 - (F) ALW N1X - Eight Furlongs Turf

A's

# 10 Lavender (Ire) (ML 6-1)

B's

# 3 Cassie Belle (ML 8-1)
# 6 Applecross (Ire) (ML 5-1)
# 9 Nice Ice (ML 7-2)
# 11 Noble Hearted (ML 4-1)
# 12 Quiet Secretary (ML 15-1)

C's

# 1 Good On Paper (ML 8-1)
# 2 Almost a Factor (ML 10-1)
# 5 Arctic Roll (GB) (ML 20-1)
# 7 Cover Version (ML 20-1)
# 8 All Quality (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 4 A New Peace (ML 20-1)

Lavender (Ire) was a clear winner sprinting over this turf course last time out at this approximate class level, and Lavender should do well with the stretch out.  Cassie Belle missed victory by just a head the last time that she competed on the turf.

Applecross (Ire) took the Show at this class level last time out.  Nice Ice enters this contest with a two race winning streak, and Nice Ice projects to be the one that they'll have to run down to win.

Noble Hearted could move up with the cutback in distance, while Quiet Secretary could improve with the stretch out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

Scratch # 6 Top Harbor (No Line)

The Chosen Vron, Show finisher in the Grade 2 San Vicente, looks classiest here.  None Above the Law and Good With People are both trained by Peter Miller.  Look for Good With People early, while None Above the Law could be the one running best late.

Mister Bold could improve with the return to dirt.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.
