6/25/17 Oak Tree At Pleasanton Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 1 Private Joke (Final Odds 3.20) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 6 Lil' Chieftain (2.80) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 5 Seattle Serenade (1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - # 5 Run Scout Run (1.30*) - "A" Selection

In hindsight, perhaps hitting the "ALL" button for the second leg was a bit of overkill; as eliminating, say, the two debut runners (neither of whom drew much money, nor finished in the Trifecta) would have substantially reduced the overall cost of the play.  However, it's fair to speculate that, if I had not bought that race, then the eventual winner, Lil' Chieftain, may have been one of those left off the big ticket; as "the seventeenth time's the charm" angle is rarely a winning one.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the finale:

# 2 Look At That (6.90) - $232.30 Finish: 6th
# 4 Mexicat (16.40) - $535.05 Finish: 5th
# 7 Highland Rose (1.80) - $89.35 Finish: 4th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 6 / 5 / 5  which paid $89.80 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $43.80 on the initial $46 investment, or approximate odds of 0.95-1; which, while not as profitable as if I had just put it all on my big ticket single, Seattle Serenade, to Win, is still profit; and is therefore greatly appreciated.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/25/17 Oak Tree At Pleasanton Late Pick Four - Preview

And so we've come to the final Sunday in June.  In just a few more days 2017 will be half over.  Hopefully it's been a fun year so far for you; and no matter how good or bad it may have been up 'til this point, Good Lord willing hopefully it'll keep improving and get much better as the months go by.  Anyway, enough with looking at the calendar; let's get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at Oak Tree at Pleasanton.

RACE 6 - Clm $16k - Five and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 1 Private Joke (Morning Line 4-1)
# 6 Stellar Sea (ML 5-2)

B’s

# 3 Velocitation (ML 7-2)

C's

# 5 Fair Advantage (ML 3-1)

Private Joke has finished in the Exacta in two of his three career starts over this track, and appears to be in top form.  Stellar Sea took the Show at this class level two starts back.

Velocitation was victorious in his only prior race over this track, and fits well at this class level.  Fair Advantage seems to settle for too many minor awards, but could move up with the cutback in distance.

RACE 7 - Md $32k - Five and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 5 The Perfect Square (ML 5-2)

B's

# 1 Marchtothemusic (ML 8-5)
# 2 El Alteno (ML 10-1)
# 3 Mysterious Journey (ML 8-1)
# 4 Ancestry (ML 6-1)
# 6 Lil' Chieftain (ML 7-2)

C's

None

Three of the runners in this contest (Mysterious Journey, The Perfect Square, and Lil' Chieftain) are dropping in for a tag from the non-claiming maiden ranks.  El Alteno and Ancestry are first time starters.  The Morning Line Favorite, Marchtothemusic, has failed in five of his last six races as the Post Time Favorite.  Marchtothemusic and Lil' Chieftain are two that seem to settle for too many minor awards.

Quite frankly, this contest looks like a chaos race, as the two most talented runners look to be horrible Win candidates.  I made The Perfect Square my "A" Selection as he appears to be the quickest in the field; but for the big ticket, I'll be punching the "ALL" button.

RACE 8 - ALW N$Y - Eight and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 5 Seattle Serenade (ML 5-2)

B's

None

C's

# 7 Eagle Screams (ML 4-1)
# 8 Noble Nick (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 2 Anythingscookin (ML 7-2)

This event is open to any runners three years old and upward which have not won $60k in 2017, excluding Maiden, Claiming, and Starter races.

Seattle Serenade, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, was a two-time winner downstate on Fast dirt tracks, and was victorious last time out in his first try around two turns.  Eagle Screams, who was fourth in that contest behind Seattle Serenade, could be quicker out of the gate today; while Noble Nick, a winner in his only prior try over this track, could move up with the surface switch.

RACE 9 - (F) Md $8k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 5 Run Scout Run (ML 3-1)
# 7 My Heart Is Yours (ML 2-1)

B's

# 2 Look At That (ML 4-1)
# 4 Mexicat (ML 12-1)

C's

# 8 Corazon Del Fuego (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 1 Austria (ML 6-1)

Run Scout Run and My Heart Is Yours are two that ran well on the dirt tracks downstate, and could move up with the class drop.  Look At That has finished in the Trifecta in each of her last three starts at this class level.

Mexicat could improve with the surface switch.  Corazon Del Fuego is a first time starter trained by Steve Sherman; and while Sherman's chargers tend to do better at second asking than first, Corazon Del Fuego seems to be well meant here.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1,6 with 5 with 5 with 5,7 $4.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,3,6 with ALL with 5 with 2,4,5,7 $36.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 5 with 5 with 5 with 5,7 $1.00
$0.50 P4: 1,6 with 5 with 7,8 with 5,7 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 1,6 with 5 with 5 with 8 $1.00

Total: $46.00

Post Time for Race 6 is 7:22 EDT / 4:22 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/24/17 Oak Tree At Pleasanton Late Pick Four - Results

Race 8 - # 4 Jack Masterpiece (Final Odds 1.90*) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - # 5 Wise Tale (2.10) - "C" Selection
Race 10 - # 3 Fervent Femme (1.40*) - "A" Selection
Race 11 - # 1 Tuscan Warrior (6.20) - "C" Selection

The Morning Line Maker and the betting public had it right in the opening leg; and perhaps someday I'll see what they saw in the two year old Jack Masterpiece, as he was an easy winner in his debut.  Fervent Femme was another easy winner Saturday; and it seems somehow fitting that my only "A" Selection on the day to cross under the wire first did so in a leg in which I hit the "ALL" button.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  4 / 5 / 3 / 1  were rewarded with a payout of $124.05 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/24/17 Oak Tree At Pleasanton Late Pick Four - Preview

The 2017 Fair Meetings in Northern California began Friday (one day later than originally scheduled, thanks to the excessive heat) with the first stop on the tour being the Alameda County Fairgrounds for the Oak Tree at Pleasanton Meet.  So that's where my handicapping finds itself Saturday; and while there is a Jackpot Pick Six on the wagering menu, I'm going to give that pool some time to grow, as I set my sights on The Late Pick Four at Oak Tree at Pleasanton.

RACE 8 - MSW - Five Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Oh Man (Morning Line 9-2)

B's

# 2 Steven Decatur (ML 10-1)
# 6 Sojourn (ML 8-1)

C's

# 4 Jacks Masterpiece (ML 5-2)
# 5 El Chavo Del Ocho (ML 5-1)
# 8 Cash Limit (ML 6-1)

Oh Man, one of three experienced runners in this juvenile field, took the Place in front of a next out winner while running for a tag in his debut last time out.  Steven Decatur goes first time under the tutelage of Trainer Jedd Josephson, who tends to do well with two year olds.  Sojourn is a first time starter out of Amber Hills, who has been doing a good job of producing winners (as well as having been a winner herself as a two year old).

Jacks Masterpiece is a debut runner out of Marty's Zee, who has produced two winners from two starters.  El Chavo Del Ocho and Cash Limit are both trained by Quinn Howey, and both appear to have been working well for this, the debut for each.

RACE 9 - Clm $3.2k N1Y - Five and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Lucky Mark (ML 2-1)
# 7 Outthink'em (ML 7-2)

B’s

None

C's

# 5 Wise Tale (ML 3-1)

Scratch # 1 Six Votes (ML 9-2)

This contest is for three year olds and upward that have not won a race in 2017, excluding Maiden races, and Claiming, and Starter contests for $2.5k or less.

Lucky Mark has finished in the Exacta four of the six times in his career that he has competed on a Fast dirt track.  Outthink'em missed victory by just a head two starts back against open (no restrictions) $3.2k claimers.  Wise Tale was victorious the only prior time that he competed over this main track; though it's fair to wonder if Wise Tale is fully recovered from the injury that had him on the shelf for eleven months.

RACE 10 - (F) OC 62k/N2X - Eight and a Third Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Fervent Femme (ML 2-1)

B’s

# 1 Russian Radiance (GB) (ML 5-2)
# 2 Chronologic'sghost (ML 6-1)
# 4 Mon Petite (ML 3-1)
# 5 Zip N Bayou (ML 7-2)

C's

None

Chronologic'sghost, the longest shot on the Morning Line in this field, took the Show at this class level last time out, and has finished in the Trifecta six of the eight times in her career that she has competed on a Fast dirt track.  So if I can't eliminate her, I see no point in trying to eliminate any of the other four runners in this field.  Fervent Femme is the "A" Selection because she looks to be the quickest in this field.  Everyone else goes on the big ticket as a "B" Selection, as I'll be making use of the "ALL" button for this contest.

RACE 11 - Md $8k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Tune to Win (ML 3-1)
# 8 Oil Change (ML 10-1)

B's

# 4 Plum Lucky (ML 5-2)

C's

# 1 Tuscan Warrior (ML 5-1)
# 5 Excessive Gambler (ML 6-1)

Tune to Win ships in from downstate and should appreciate the class relief.  Oil Change looks to be quickest in this field.  Plum Lucky has finished in the Trifecta three of the four times that he has competed on a Fast dirt track.

Tuscan Warrior could improve with the surface switch.  Excessive Gambler, with fourteen prior career starts, has certainly had his chances; but Excessive Gambler has proven to be competitive at this class level, and therefore must be respected.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 3 with 3,7 with 3 with 3,8 $4.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,3,6 with 3,7 with ALL with 3,4,8 $45.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 4,5,8 with 3,7 with 3 with 3,8 $6.00
$0.50 P4: 3 with 5 with 3 with 3,8 $1.00
$0.50 P4: 3 with 3,7 with 3 with 1,5 $2.00

Total: $58.00

Post Time for Race 8 is 8:25 EDT / 5:25 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/18/17 Golden Gate Fields Golden Pick 6 - Results

Race 5 - # 3 The Natural (Final Odds 3.30) - "A" Selection
Race 6 - # 7 Propeppy (15.20) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - # 2 Walk On Water (9.90) - No Selection
Race 8 - # 8 Soap Box (2.20*) - No Selection
Race 9 - # 7 Kronwall (2.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - # 8 Singaprayer (12.00) - "C" Selection

I'll let you know why I didn't have Soap Box on my tickets should I ever remember; because that was a pretty serious omission.  But in reality it was for the best that I did, as it helped lessen the amount that I contributed on a day where I was not going to collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Golden Pick Six sequence of  3 / 7 / 2 / 8 / 7 / 8  were rewarded with a payout of $46.192.30 for their twenty cent wager.  Since the total pool was reported as $99,351.00, that means that there were two winning tickets.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/18/17 Golden Gate Fields Golden Pick 6 - Preview

"I've known how to make a mint julep since I was 12, so I can't say I never learned anything practical from my father." - John Lyon

Happy Father's Day, one and all; and here's hoping that all the Dads out there get today the thing which they most want: a nap.  Sunday also happens to be closing day for the current Golden Gate meet before this show goes on the road to the various county fairs.  So that means that everything must go; including whatever carryover balance is sitting in the Pick Six Jackpot pool.  So let's get to it and get ready to dive in, as I take another run at The Golden Pick Six at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 5 - Clm $5k N2X - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 3 The Natural (Morning Line 2-1)

B’s

# 8 Life Is a Trip (ML 5-2)

C's

# 2 Outlook (ML 10-1)
# 4 Ihearditallbefore (ML 7-2)
# 7 On Fire (ML 8-1)

The Natural was victorious at this class level last time out.  Life Is a Trip takes a few steps down the class ladder after showing good early speed against more expensive stock.

Outlook has proven popular at the claim box this year with several outfits, a sign that multiple connections are expecting this runner to improve.  Ihearditallbefore goes first off the claim for Trainer John Martin, who tends to do well with such.  On Fire has proven competitive at this class level, but seems to settle for too many minor awards.

RACE 6 - (F) Alw 40000s N2L - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 6 Missionelle (ML 8-5)

B’s

# 3 She Sang (ML 6-1)
# 5 No Spin Zone (ML 2-1)

C's

# 1 Quick Song (ML 4-1)
# 4 Liana Skye (ML 8-1)
# 7 Propeppy (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 2 Sparkle Shine (ML 20-1)

Note for future reference that this one is for horses which have not won two races in their career; but with one exemption, as runners get a pass by having one (and only one) win not considered, if one of their two career wins was for $16k or less.  For the record, # 5 No Spin Zone and # 7 Propeppy are the only two runners in this field to have made just one trip to the Winner's Circle in their career.

Missionelle won by daylight under these conditions over this main track last time out.  She Sang was victorious under these conditions the last time that she competed over this main track, which was two starts back.  No Spin Zone graduated with ease last time out, and has shown much improvement since shipping in from downstate.

Quick Song took the Place at this class level last time out, albeit on the turf.  Liana Skye took the Place at this class level two starts back, albeit for different connections.  Propeppy is on my tickets because everyone else in this field is.

RACE 7 - MSW - Five Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 6 Brave Helios (ML 2-1)
# 7 Ultimateenticement (ML 4-1)

B's

# 9 Generally Lucky (ML 6-1)
# 10 Respect the Hustle (ML 5-1)

C's

# 4 Wasco (ML 15-1)
# 8 Unpossible (ML 20-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles: # 11 Cash Limit (No Line) and # 12 Lucky Antares (ML 10-1)

Brave Helios took the Place at this class level in his debut last time out, with Respect the Hustle taking the Show behind him.  Ultimateenticement is sired by Drosselmeyer, whose progeny tend to do well at first asking.  Ultimateenticement also had a sharp bullet work over this main track last Sunday.

Generally Lucky took the Place at this class level in his debut two starts back.  Wasco is making his second career start for Trainer Steve Sherman, who tends to do well with such.  Unpossible is a first time starter for Trainer Felix Rondan, who has been having a fine meet.

RACE 8 - Alw 4000s - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 5 Ted Oliver (ML 9-2)

B’s

None

C's

# 4 Synnin (ML 4-1)
# 9 Mon Mousse (ML 7-2)

Scratch # 2 Spot N the Line (ML 20-1)

Note for future reference that, unlike the Starter Allowance contest above, this event has no lifetime win restrictions for entry.  So any runner that has started for a claiming price of $4k or less, either this year or last, is eligible to run here.

Ted Oliver has been victorious is each of his last two contests, both over this turf course under these conditions.  Synnin has won at this class level in two of his last three starts; but Synnin's one failure in those three attempts was also the one turf sprint in the trio.  Mon Mousse took the Place at this class level the last time that he sprinted on the grass; but that race was last Summer, and its fair to question if Mon Mousse can display that form today.

RACE 9 - Clm $6.25k B - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 7 Kronwall (ML 2-1)

B's

# 6 Califo Cat (ML 5-2)
# 8 Sheila's Footsteps (ML 6-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 5 The Gotham Year (ML 30-1) and # 9 Mandala (ML 20-1)

This contest is restricted to runners which have either:

1) Not won a race since April 15, 2017; OR
2) Which have never won four races.

So as long as a horse has fewer than four career Wins, he's eligible to run in this race.  If a horse has four career Wins or more, than none of those Wins could have come since the middle of April (note that Claiming and Starter Races for $5k or less don't count when computing the Win totals).  For the record, # 1 Glopress (ML 15-1), # 3 Admiral Boom (ML 8-1), and # 8 Sheila's Footsteps (6-1) are the three runners in this field with fewer than four career Wins.

Kronwall took the Show against more expensive stock last time out, and appears to be the quickest in this field.  Califo Cat and Sheila's Footsteps are both taking a big step down on the class ladder.

RACE 10 - Md $20k - Eight and a Half Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 13 Sekondi (ML 2-1)
# 14 Kitten's Royal (ML 3-1)

B's

# 2 Sooner Boomer (ML 8-1)

C's

# 4 White Falcon (ML 12-1)
# 8 Singaprayer (ML 12-1)
# 10 Get Like Me (ML 4-1)

Scratch # 7 Schwarzenegger (NL), # 9 Larrikin (NL), and # 12 Gallant Heat (NL).  Bring in # 13 Sekondi and # 14 Kitten's Royal off the Also Eligible list.

Sekondi took the Show at this class level over the Santa Anita main track last time out.  Sekondi's breeding suggests that he should do well with the surface switch.  Kitten's Royal took the Show against classier stock over the Santa Anita main track two starts back.  Sooner Boomer took the Place at this class level last time out, and should be close up during the early running.

White Falcon drops in class while trying grass for the first time; perhaps those changes will lead to an improved performance.  Singaprayer took the Show at this class level last time out.  Get Like Me also took the Show in a separate contest at this class level last time out.

OK, that's the analysis.  It's a mandatory payout day, so there are no concerns regarding needing the sole winning ticket in order to get the big prize.  So with that, playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P6: 3 with 6 with 6,7 with 5 with 7 with 13,14 $4.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.20 P6: 3,8 with 3,5,6 with 6,7,9,10 with 5 with 6,7,8 with 2,13,14 $43.20

A's with One C

$0.20 P6: 2,4,7 with 6 with 6,7 with 5 with 7 with 13,14 $2.40
$0.20 P6: 3 with 1,4,7 with 6,7 with 5 with 7 with 13,14 $2.40
$0.20 P6: 3 with 6 with 4,8 with 5 with 7 with 13,14 $0.80
$0.20 P6: 3 with 6 with 6,7 with 4,9 with 7 with 13,14 $1.60
$0.20 P6: 3 with 6 with 6,7 with 5 with 7 with 4,8,10 $1.20

Total: $55.60

Post Time for Race 5 is 6:16 EDT / 3:16 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/17/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Results

Race 7 - # 5 Gurnick (Final Odds 1.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 1 Kimberlea K (1.60*) - "A" and "C" Selection*
Race 9 - # 4 She'll Get'er Done (3.30) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - # 2 Ragazza Di Vola (3.80) - "A" Selection

* # 10 Silver One, a "C" Selection, was a late scratch from Race 8; thus giving me the Post Time Favorite and eventual winner # 1 Kimberlea K in her place.

So a sequence that I thought was oh so difficult turned out to be not so complex after all, with half the winners being the Post Time Favorite and all of the four chart toppers paying less than ten dollars in the Win Pool.  But I think that's pretty common among handicappers (or, at least, when it comes to my handicapping); that is, not being able to always proper assess the degree of difficulty in a multi-race sequence.  That's why I'm a firm believer that it's best for multi-race players to have a set sequence that they pre-determine that they will play on a regular basis (be it The Pick Six, The Pick Five, The Late Pick Four, or what have you) come hell or high water, and not allow themselves to be deterred on those occasions when they determine that the puzzle is far too difficult to solve.  Anyway, that's my opinion; and my personal experience through the years seems to bear that out.

For the record, here's the $0.50 Will Pays for the other seven runners to which I would have cashed in the finale:

# 1 Flika (15.10) - $444.70 Finish: 4th
# 4 Queen Scheherazade (2.90*) - $77.70 Finish: 2nd
# 5 Enchanted Jasmine (6.40) - $124.00 Finish: 3rd
# 7 Bonnie’s Ransom (9.80) - $252.95 Finish: 7th
# 8 Having Fun (3.90) - $115.35 Finish: 6th
# 11 Benchmark Rose (6.90) - $247.40 Finish: 5th
# 12 Shayna Punims (18.20) - $669.60 Finish: 8th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  5 / 1 / 4 / 2  which paid $106.75 for a fifty cent wager.  Since all four were "A" Selections the payout is trebled; and because of the late scratch of Silver One in the second leg the payout is quadrupled (for the record, # 8 Having Fun was my other "A" Selection in the final leg, so her payout, had she won, would have been quadrupled as well).  So four times $106.75 makes the total payout $427; which in turn makes for a profit of $345 on the initial $82 investment, or approximate odds of 4.207-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/17/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Preview

Since Sunday is the final day of the current meet at Golden Gate Fields, there will be a mandatory payout of the entire Golden Pick Six Jackpot on that day.  Therefore, I decided that Saturday would be a good day to allow that jackpot to grow without me contributing to the pool; a decision that was aided by the fact that I found putting together just a Late Pick Four play was a hard row to hoe.  But hoe it I did, for better or for worse; so let's get to it, as I take another run at at The Late Pick Four at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 7 - Clm $6.25k - Eight and a Half Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 5 Gurnick (ML 7-2)

B’s

# 2 Danas Best (ML 5-2)

C's

# 1 Nahem (ML 3-1)
# 7 Press Baron (ML 8-1)
# 8 Rockin Robin (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 3 Whilly Pink (ML 15-1)

Gurnick was out classed last time out, in addition to having to compete at a distance further than he prefers.  The drop back into a class level at which he was victorious two starts back combined with having to cover less real estate should make for an improved effort from Gurnick today.

Danas Best and Nahem were just a nose apart at the wire while filling out the Exacta at this class level last time out.  I give the edge to Danas Best today because I think he's more likely than Nahem to avoid getting caught up in an early speed duel with Rockin Robin, and thus have more in the tank for the stretch run.

Press Baron moves up in class after having defeated a next out winner last time out.  Rockin Robin looks to be the speed of the speed; a factor that must be respected on all surfaces.

RACE 8 - (F) MSW - Five Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 Kimberlea K (ML 5-2)
# 2 Bornonvalentineday (ML 10-1)

B's

# 5 Colonel Deering (ML 15-1)
# 8 Royal Lookin (ML 20-1)
# 9 Miss Shirley C (ML 3-1)

C's

# 6 Tiger Mom (ML 4-1)
# 10 Silver One (ML 20-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles, # 11 Boot Scootin' Kid (ML 8-1) and # 12 Lucky Antares (ML 8-1)

These are all two year old fillies that have never competed before, with the exception of Colonel Deering, who took the Place against the boys in her debut last time out with a price tag on her head.  Quite frankly, this type is race probably deserves a punch in the "ALL" button, especially since its placement on the card means that there's no way to see how the wagering is going prior to jumping into The Late Pick Four pool.  The selections above are my best guess based primarily upon breeding, connections, and published workouts; but if you've got a big enough budget, I would suggest just picking "ALL".

RACE 9 - (F) Clm $12.5k N2X - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 She'll Get're Done (ML 3-1)
# 7 Sooner Time (ML 7-2)

B’s

None

C's

# 1 Golden Sale (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 2 Croix Du Soleil (No Line)

She'll Get're Done seems to settle for too many minor awards; but she has defeated Winners in her career, and she certainly figures at this class level.  Sooner Time took the Place while disappointing as the Favorite at this class level last time out.  Golden Sale won by the length of the stretch in her nineteenth start last time out; perhaps it finally clicked in her head what these contests are all about.

RACE 10 - (F) Md $20k - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Ragazza Di Vola (ML 9-2)
# 8 Having Fun (ML 5-1)

B's

# 5 Enchanted Jasmine (ML 4-1)
# 11 Benchmark Rose (ML 8-1)
# 12 Shayna Punims (ML 12-1)

C's

# 1 Filka (ML 10-1)
# 4 Queen Scheherazade (ML 3-1)
# 7 Bonnie's Ransom (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 9 Holladay Visit (ML 30-1)

Ragazza Di Vola took the Show against non-claiming maidens over this turf course last time out.  Having Fun missed graduation by just a nose at this class level last time out, with Ragazza Di Vola taking the Show behind her.

Enchanted Jasmine took the Place at this class level last time out.  Benchmark Rose drops in for a tag for the first time in her career.  Shayna Punims closed well last time out at this class level.  Filka has proven competitive at this class level, but seems to settle for too many minor awards.

Queen Scheherazade drops down on the class ladder after not showing much in any of her prior starts.  Bonnie's Ransom took the Place at this class level two starts back.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 5 with 1,2 with 4,7 with 2,8 $8.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,5 with 1,2,5,8,9 with 4,7 with 2,5,8,11,12 $50.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,7,8 with 1,2 with 4,7 with 2,8 $12.00
$0.50 P4: 5 with 6,10 with 4,7 with 2,8 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 5 with 1,2 with 1 with 2,8 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 5 with 1,2 with 4,7 with 1,4,7 $6.00

Total: $82.00

6/11/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 7 Fiery Lady (Final Odds 4.60) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 2 Globalization (2.20*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 7 Brookys Star (1.10*) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - # 9 Fort Cady (4.40) - "A" Selection

Going four deep in both the second and third leg only to wind up on the Post Time Favorite in each is not exactly stellar handicapping on my part.  However, leaving the Morning Line/Post Time Favorite in both the first and fourth legs completely off my big ticket proved to be very much the right move, so I have that to proud of.  And, most importantly of all, today was a day in which I collected instead of contributed.

For the record, here's the $0.50 Will Pay for the other runner to which I would have cashed in the finale:

# 2 Jayhawker (2.60) - $114.55 Finish: 5th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  7 / 2 / 7 / 9  which paid $169.10 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $102.10 on the initial $67 investment, or approximate odds of 1.52-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/11/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Preview

It looks like while most everyone was focused on the Belmont Stakes card yesterday, somebody was busy scooping the pot in The Golden Pick Six pool at Golden Gate Fields.  So God bless them as they spend their winnings; as for me, that take down means that I can continue working a lighter load; which is what I plan to do today, as I take another run at at The Late Pick Four at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 6 - (F) OC 40k/N1X - Eight and a Half Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 6 Lady Beware (Ire) (Morning Line 4-1)

B’s

# 3 Sheeza Sassy Girl (ML 8-1)
# 7 Fiery Lady (ML 8-1)

C's

# 2 Lucky Christiana (ML 2-1)
# 4 Shari (ML 15-1)
# 5 Everybody Does It (ML 30-1)
# 8 Simmy's Temple (GB) (ML 3-1)

Scratch # 1 Dreamy Gal (Ire) (ML 5-1)

Lady Beware (Ire) ships in from downstate and could benefit from the class drop.  Sheeza Sassy Girl was victorious at this class level the one and only prior time in her career that she competed on some California grass.  Fiery Lady showed good form in her turf debut two starts back.

Lucky Christiana showed good form in each of her prior starts, but she may not yet be ready for two turn racing.  Shari took the Show at this class level last time out, albeit over the main track.  Everybody Does It is on the ticket because everybody else is.  Simmy's Temple (GB) has been competitive at this class level in the past, but has now been moved to a less successful barn.

RACE 7 - MSW - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 2 Globalization (ML 2-1)
# 5 Rule Number Eight (ML 4-1)

B's

# 3 Luke Thirteen (ML 9-2)
# 4 Lion Command (ML 7-2)

C's

# 7 Lil' Chieftain (ML 8-1)

Globalization is a first time starter for Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who tends to do well with such.  Rule Number Eight could benefit from the return to one turn racing.

Lion Command and Luke Thirteen filled out the bottom two slots in the Trifecta at this class level last month over this main track.  Lil' Chieftain has proven competitive at this class level, but seems to settle for too many minor awards.

RACE 8 - (F) ALW N1X - Eight Furlongs Turf

A's

# 7 Brookys Star (ML 9-5)

B's

# 4 Generous Pour (ML 2-1)
# 6 Tequila Mary (ML 9-2)
# 8 Hal's Buddy (ML 8-1)

C's

# 5 Briactic Gal (ML 8-1)

Brookys Star took the Place at this class level last time over this turf course, and could benefit from having to cover less real estate today.  Generous Pour ships in from downstate and could move up with the class drop.  Tequila Mary has won more than her fair share of starts over this turf course, albeit against lesser company.

Hal's Buddy took the Show behind Brookys Star last time out.  Briactic Gal has proven competitive at this class level, albeit while sprinting over the main track.

RACE 9 - Clm $4k B - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 2 Jayhawker (ML 4-1)
# 9 Fort Cady (ML 8-1)

B's

None

C's

# 3 Papa Kade (ML 2-1)
# 5 Moogie Woogie (ML 9-2)
# 6 Underwrite (ML 8-1)
# 7 Curly Boy (ML 5-1)

This contest is restricted to runners which have either:

1) Not won a race since April 15, 2017; OR
2) Which have never won four races.

So as long as a horse has fewer than four career Wins, he's eligible to run in this race.  If a horse has four career Wins or more, than none of those Wins could have come since the middle of April (note that Claiming and Starter Races for $3.5k or less don't count when computing the Win totals).  For the record, # 2 Jayhawker (ML 4-1) is the only runner in this field with fewer than four career Wins.

Jayhawker was an easy winner over this main track last time out at this approximate class level (higher price tag but for Non-Winners of Three Lifetime).  Note that Jayhawker's trainer, Robert Hess Sr, tends to do well when placing his last out winners in the claiming ranks.

Fort Cady took the Show at this class level last time out, after getting his picture taken at this approximate class level (lower claiming price but no conditions) two starts back.  Papa Kade's early speed has not held up the last two times that he has tried this class level, but that could change today.

Moogie Woogie and Underwrite are two that could move up with the class drop.  Curly Boy didn't show much in his return from the year long layoff last time out; it's possible that he may have simply needed that race, though the class drop off that effort suggests that he's not the runner that he used to be.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 6 with 2,5 with 7 with 2,9 $4.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 3,6,7 with 2,3,4,5 with 4,6,7,8 with 2,9 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,4,5,8 with 2,5 with 7 with 2,9 $8.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 7 with 7 with 2,9 $1.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 2,5 with 5 with 2,9 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 2,5 with 7 with 3,5,6,7 $4.00

Total: $67.00

Post Time for Race 6 is 6:49 EDT / 3:49 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/10/17 Belmont Park All Grade 1 Pick Four - Results

Race 8 - The Just a Game - # 7 Antonoe (Final Odds 3.10) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - The Metropolitan - # 9 Mor Spirit (2.55*) - "B" Selection
Race 10 - The Manhattan - # 5 Ascend (27.50) - No Selection
Race 11 - The Belmont - # 2 Tapwrit (5.30) - "B" Selection

God bless you if you had Ascend, who had never previously competed in a Graded Stakes, and who was carrying his fourth different rider in last four starts, on top of your tickets; because I sure didn't.  But while Ascend's win was unexpected, it was certainly decisive; as he crossed under the wire more than a length in front of Place finisher # 4 Time Test (GB) (1.35*), who was seemingly without excuse.  More to the point as regards my play, Ascend's victory spares me the pain of wondering why I did not have Antone on my big ticket, as that would be the question that I would now be asking myself had "A" Selection Time Test beaten Ascend to the wire.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Belmont Stakes Pick Four sequence of  7 / 9 / 5 / 2  were rewarded with a payout of $3,010.50 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/10/17 Belmont Park All Grade 1 Pick Four - Preview

It's Belmont Stakes Day in New York, and to complement the third leg of The Triple Crown the good people at NYRA have once again put together a monster card that is comparable to those usually reserved for The Breeders' Cup.  Along with all the great races on the program there's a plethora of wagering options available Saturday from which to choose.  As for me, I'll be focusing in on the best of the best, if you will, as I take a run at The All Grade 1 Pick Four ending with The Test of Champions at beautiful Belmont Park.

RACE 8 - (F) The Just A Game (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Widener Turf

A's

# 1 Dickinson (Morning Line 5-2)
# 2 Roca Rojo (Ire) (ML 9-5)

B's

None

C's

# 7 Antonoe (ML 8-1)

Dickinson enters this contest having won five of her last six contests, including the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley last time out.  Roca Roja (Ire), winner of the Grade 2 Distaff Turf Mile last time out, is two-for-two lifetime over this turf course (plus another Win in one try on the inner turf course).  Antone could be the one running best late.

RACE 9 - The Metropolitan Handicap (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 5 Sharp Azteca (ML 7-2)

B's

# 9 Mor Spirit (ML 5-2)

C's

# 2 Rally Cry (ML 5-1)
# 12 Awesome Slew (ML 6-1)

Sharp Azteca looks to me to be much the best here.  The only question I have is will Sharp Azteca be struck by the "Dubai Bounce" that hits so many runners upon their return from the UAE.

Mor Spirit, trained by Bob Baffert, appears to be in top form.  Rally Cry steps up in class after a fine performance over this main track last time out.  Awesome Slew was just a head behind Limousine Liberal at the wire in the Grade 2 Churchill Downs last time out, and could be the one running best late.

RACE 10 - The Manhattan (Grade 1) - Ten Furlongs Inner Turf

A's

# 3 World Approval (ML 3-1)
# 4 Time Test (GB) (ML 5-1)

B's

# 1 Beach Patrol (ML 4-1)
# 2 Wake Forest (Ger) (ML 8-1)
# 6 Potemkin (Ger) (ML 8-1)
# 7 Divisidero (ML 4-1)
# 9 Sadler's Joy (ML 6-1)

C's

None

World Approval, winner of the Grade 2 Dixie last time out, should do well with the stretchout in distance.  Time Test (GB) was just a nose behind Smooth Daddy at the wire in the Grade 3 Fort Marcy last time out, and could improve with a firmer sod.

Beach Patrol seems to settle for too many minor awards; but his ability must be respected.  Wake Forest (Ger) seemed to take a step backwards last time out; but I think the yielding turf was to blame for that poor effort.  Potemkin (Ger) is a multiple Group Stakes winner in Europe, and appears to thrive at today's distance.

Divisidero crossed under the wire a half length in front of Beach Patrol in the Grade 1 Turf Classic last time out.  Sadler's Joy took the Show in the Grade 1 Man o'War last time out, and is another in this field that can be expected to improve with a firmer footing.

RACE 11 - The Belmont (Grade 1) - Twelve Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 3 Gormley (ML 8-1)
# 7 Irish War Cry (ML 7-2)

B's

# 2 Tapwrit (ML 6-1)
# 4 J Boys Echo (ML 15-1)
# 6 Lookin At Lee (ML 5-1)
# 8 Senior Investment (ML 12-1)
# 12 Patch (ML 12-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 11 Epicharis (Jpn) (ML 4-1)

Just draw a line through the Kentucky Derby for Gormley, Irish War Cry, Tapwrit, J Boys Echo, and Patch.  Senior Investment has improved over his prior effort in just about all of his career starts, and closed well enough in the Preakness to suggest that he can take yet another step forward here.

Unlike those I listed above, Lookin at Lee had a dream trip in the Kentucky Derby, where he rode a golden rail late to take the Place.  But Lookin at Lee had a less than dream trip in the Preakness, and yet still held his form.  Perhaps Lookin at Lee can run well enough late today to upset this field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Yeah, we're over budget; but I feel that it's justified on a big race day like today.  So with that, playing our tickets in Crist fashion, we get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1,2 with 5 with 3,4 with 3,7 $8.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,2 with 5,9 with 1,2,3,4,6,7,9 with 2,3,4,6,7,8,12 $98.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 7 with 5 with 3,4 with 3,7 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 1,2 with 2,12 with 3,4 with 3,7 $8.00

Total: $116.00

Post Time for Race 8 is 3:58 EDT / 12:58 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/4/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 3 Junior G Man (Final Odds 7.10) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - # 4 Regal Born (2.30) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 10 An Khe Pass (2.60) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 1 Lucky Bode (15.60) - "C" Selection

# 2 Lazzam (GB) (0.40*) was a neck slow in getting to the line in the opening leg of sequence.  Had Lazzam crossed under the wire first in Race 6, it certainly would have made the nightcap more interesting, though the result would have been no different; as we had 'em all, but not all on any one ticket.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  3 / 4 / 10 / 1  were rewarded with a payout of $977.25 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/4/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Preview

As mentioned yesterday, The Golden Pick Six Jackpot at Golden Gate Fields was scooped Friday; which gives me an excellent excuse to lighten my workload a bit and give the jackpot a chance to build back up.  So with that as backdrop let's get to it, as I take a run at The Late Pick Four at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 6 - Alw 40000s N2L - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Lazzam (GB) (Morning Line 8-5)
# 7 Sharpener (ML 5-1)

B’s

None

C's

# 3 Junior G Man (ML 9-2)
# 4 Global Event (ML 5-2)

Note for future reference that this one is for horses which have not won two races in their career; but with one exemption, as runners get a pass by having one (and just one) win not considered, if one of their two career wins was for $16k or less.  For the record, # 5 Manitou (ML 10-1), # 6 Chanted (ML 10-1), and # 7 Sharpener (ML 5-1) are the three runners in this field that have made just one trip to the Winner's Circle in their respective careers.

Lazzam (GB) won by as many as he wanted last time out in his first go round over this turf course, albeit for different connections.  Sharpener took the Place at this class level two starts back against a next out winner.  Junior G Man and Global Event filled out the bottom two slots in the Trifecta at this class level last time, albeit on the main track.

RACE 7 - MSW - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Regal Born (ML 2-1)
# 6 On Trust (ML 9-5)

B's

# 5 Trickonomics (ML 3-1)
# 9 White Falcon (ML 20-1)

C's

None

Regal Born finished in the Trifecta in each of his three prior career starts, all at this class level.  On Trust took the Place in front of Regal Born last time out, after taking the Show behind Regal Born two starts back.

Trickonomics was less than a length behind Regal Born and On Trust at the wire last time out.  White Falcon could compete if he can return to the form that he was showing earlier this year.

RACE 8 - Clm $12.5k N2L - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 9 Telluric (ML 10-1)

B’s

# 7 Academic Code (ML 5-2)
# 10 An Khe Pass (ML 3-1)

C's

# 3 If Ur Not Early (ML 8-1)
# 8 Two the Punch (ML 6-1)

Scratch # 1 Meggy's Amazing (ML 10-1)

Telluric graduated by daylight last time out, and has been showing steady, constant improvement in each of his races.  Academic Code took the Place at this class level last time out.

An Khe Pass graduated against non-claiming maidens two starts back, and then went on the shelf for about four months.  The fact that An Khe Pass is now being put in for a tag this cheap after showing nothing in his return off the layoff last time out probably means that An Khe Pass is not the same horse that he once was.  But it's possible for An Khe Pass to win this contest even without being as good as he once was; and besides, Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer may be putting him in this cheap as a bluff, figuring that no one will claim An Khe Pass because of suspicions that he can no longer run.

If Ur Not Early took the Show behind Academic Code at this class level last time out.  Two the Punch could improve with the turnback in distance along with the return to the main track.

RACE 9 - MSW - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Cut (ML 3-1)

B's

# 3 Lion Command (ML 3-1)
# 6 Indium (ML 5-2)
# 9 Mini Bar (ML 8-1)

C's

# 1 Lucky Bode (ML 15-1)
# 5 Fantastic Aragorn (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 7 Gallant Heat (ML 6-1)

Cut has proven to be competitive at this class level, and could move forward with the return to the grass.  Lion Command took the Place at this class level last time out.  Indium could improve moving to the flats after charging down the Santa Anita Hill in his debut last time out.  Mini Bar took the Show in each of his two prior tries on the lawn at this class level.

Lucky Bode could compete if he returns to the form that he showed last Fall.  Fantastic Aragorn closed well against state bred non-claiming maidens on the turf last time out.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 2,7 with 4,6 with 9 with 2 $4.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,7 with 4,5,6,9 with 7,9,10 with 2,3,6,9 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 3,4 with 4,6 with 9 with 2 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 2,7 with 4,6 with 3,8 with 2 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 2,7 with 4,6 with 9 with 1,5 $4.00

Total: $62.00

Post Time for Race 6 is 6:49 EDT / 3:49 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/3/17 Golden Gate Fields Golden Pick 6 - Results

Race 4 - # 3 Next Speaker (Final Odds 4.80) - "C" Selection
Race 5 - # 5 Seattle Serenade (3.60) - No Selection
Race 6 - # 1 Rebarules Again (3.70) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 3 Thirty Pepperonis (5.10) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - # 5 Top Quality (3.40) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - # 10 Silken Chief (4.90) - "B" Selection

Not only did none of my three big ticket singles win, not a one of them managed to finish in the Exacta; and two failed to even make it into the Superfecta.  In additional, I failed to get any of my "A" Selections home.  Well, if you're gonna miss, might as well miss big; because, miss one or miss 'em all, it's all the same to the bottom line.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Golden Pick Six sequence of  3 / 5 / 1 / 3 / 5 / 10  were non-existent.  Nobody picked six at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.  Those who correctly picked five out of six were rewarded with a payout of $508.62 for their twenty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

6/3/17 Golden Gate Fields Golden Pick 6 - Preview

The Pick Six Jackpot at Golden Gate Fields got scooped Friday, so there's no carryover to aim for Saturday.  Normally I would use that as an excuse to lessen my workload and shift my focus to The Late Pick Four; in fact, I will almost definitely do that Sunday.  But since I have already handicapped the final half dozen contests on Saturday's card I might as well follow through with my play; so let's get to it, as I take another run at The Golden Pick Six at The Bay's Best Bet.

RACE 4 - Clm $20k - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 Incline Village (Morning Line 6-5)

B’s

None

C's

# 2 Velocitation (ML 12-1)
# 3 Next Speaker (ML 6-1)

Incline Village wired the field at this class level two starts back, and looks to be speed on the rail today.  Velocitation could be the one running best late, though there may not be enough pace for him to chase.  Next Speaker could move forward with the drop in class.

RACE 5 - OC 62.5k/N2X - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Bronze Star (ML 9-5)

B’s

# 2 Eagle Screams (ML 3-1)
# 3 Squidward (ML 4-1)

C's

# 6 Unusually Green (ML 5-1)

Bronze Star went too fast too soon last time out; I expect him to be more controlled in the early going today.  Perhaps having Jockey Juan Hernandez on his back again will help Bronze Star be more settled early.

Eagle Screams took the Place at this class level last time out, albeit on the lawn.  Squidward looks to be in top form, and could move forward with the surface switch.  Unusually Green could be the one running best late.

RACE 6 - (F) MSW - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 2 A Lucky Carry (ML 9-5)

B's

# 1 Rebarules Again (ML 3-1)
# 5 Callmejessiejames (ML 8-1)
# 7 She's My First (ML 6-1)
# 8 Golden Squeeze (ML 10-1)

C's

None

A Lucky Carry has finished out of the Trifecta just once in his six career tries at this class level.  Rebarules Again has been much improved since shipping in from downstate, and the rail draw may help Rebarules Again get past A Lucky Carry today.

Callmejessiejames and Golden Squeeze are two that could improve with the return to one turn racing, as well as the move back to the main track.  She's My First may move up with the cutback in real estate.

RACE 7 Alw 8000s - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 5 Cackle the Cuda (ML 9-5)

B’s

None

C's

# 1 My Friend George (ML 4-1)
# 3 Thirty Pepperonis (ML 9-2)
# 7 Dixie Pistol (ML 6-1)

Scratch # 8 Wings of the Wind (ML 8-1)

Note for future reference that, unlike many Starter Allowances in California, this contest has no lifetime win restrictions for entry.  So any runner that has started for a claiming price of $8k or less, either this year or last, is eligible to run here.

Cackle the Cuda drops in class after missing victory by a length on this turf course last time out.  My Friend George seems to settle for too many minor awards, but he does fit well under these conditions.  Thirty Pepperonis could improve with the move to the lawn.  Dixie Pistol could improve with the stretchout in distance.

RACE 8 - (F) MSW - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Tizcool (ML 6-5)

B's

None

C's

# 2 Beau Rocks (ML 8-1)
# 5 Top Quality (ML 3-1)
# 6 C C the Bartender (ML 10-1)
# 7 The Incident (ML 5-1)

Tizcool ships in from downstate for Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer after finishing in the Trifecta against non-Claiming Maidens in each of her last two starts.  Beau Rocks took the Place at this class level in her debut two starts back.  Top Quality ships in from downstate, and may prefer her new surroundings.

C C the Bartender could improve with the blinkers on; while I don't know if she was wearing them at the time, her most recent workout was an improvement over the others.  The Incident is the "other" Hollendorfer, and could improve with the stretchout in distance.

RACE 9 - ALW N1X - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A's

# 8 Tavasco Road (ML 9-2)
# 9 Nightime Olympics (ML 3-1)

B's

# 1 Southern Loyalty (ML 8-1)
# 2 Tentwelvefourteen (ML 8-1)

# 3 Paynes Prairie (ML 10-1)
# 4 Life Is a Trip (ML 20-1)
# 5 Pamper Me Now (ML 30-1)
# 7 Mr. Shook (ML 4-1)

# 10 Silken Chief (ML 8-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 6 Mr Kerry Hara (ML 6-1)

Tavasco Road has yet to finish out of the Exacta in four career starts.  Nightime Olympics was victorious at this class level two starts back, albeit for a different barn.

Southern Loyalty could be speed on the rail; but perhaps not, as there seems to be quite a bit of pace in this one.  Tentwelvefourteen has proven to be competitive at this class level.

Paynes Prairie could improve with the freshening.  Silken Chief graduated by daylight last time out, and could get a nice stalking trip with the outside post.  The other "B's" are the rest of the field; because if I make it this far with three big ticket singles, I want to make sure that I collect.

OK, that's the analysis.  While this is a jackpot wager, I won't be putting all my selections on one ticket.  While I still hold out hope that this could be the luckiest day of my life, budgetary constraints must be respected.  I think it's also safe to presume that my "A" Selections won't form the basis of a unique ticket, so I should be safe in pressing those up.  So with all that, playing my tickets in Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P6: 1 with 4 with 2 with 5 with 4 with 8,9 $2.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.20 P6: 1 with 2,3,4 with 1,2,5,7,8 with 5 with 4 with ALL $27.00

A's with One C

$0.20 P6: 2,3 with 4 with 2 with 5 with 4 with 8,9 $0.80
$0.20 P6: 1 with 6 with 2 with 5 with 4 with 8,9 $0.40
$0.20 P6: 1 with 4 with 2 with 1,3,7 with 4 with 8,9 $1.20
$0.20 P6: 1 with 4 with 2 with 5 with 2,5,6,7 with 8,9 $1.60

Total: $33.00

Post Time for Race 4 is 5:45 EDT / 2:45 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,
