11/30/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 11 Bizzar Brown (Final Odds 4.50) - "B" Selection
Race 6 - # 6 Absaroka (0.50*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 5 Drifting West (3.10) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - # 7 Rose of Malibu (0.60*) - "A" Selection

It was another case of choosing the wrong leg in which to punch the "ALL" button.  I had three covered on the big ticket in the penultimate race; but that wasn't enough, as I let Drifting West slip on by me.  Meanwhile, I went "ALL" in for the nightcap, only to see my top pick and odds-on Post Time Favorite win for fun.  Mistakes like that often prove costly, and tonight was no exception.  So despite getting my big ticket single home in the second leg, Saturday was a day for me to contribute instead of collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Primetime Pick Four sequence of  11 / 6 / 5 / 7  were rewarded with a payout of $36.60 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/30/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Preview

Greetings one and all; and here's hoping that everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.  As we continue on with this holiday weekend in the U.S., please take special note that Saturday's card in Oklahoma City has just eight contests; meaning that today's sequence begins with Race 5, rather than the more customary Race 6.  So with that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Primetime Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 5 - (F) Md $7.5k - Five and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 5 Flashin the Cash (Morning Line 7-2)

B's

# 2 Rathmeister (ML 5-2)
# 11 Bizzar Brown (ML 7-2)
# 12 No Relief in Sight (ML 5-1)

C's

# 1 Electrick County (ML 30-1)
# 3 Pojoaque (ML 50-1)
# 4 Goddess of Wonder (ML 30-1)
# 6 Night's Magic (ML 6-1)
# 7 Trapani (ML 12-1)
# 8 Miss Independent (ML 20-1)

# 9 Data Baby (ML 15-1)
# 10 Gretoouki (ML 30-1)

Note that, per usual, Oklahoma breds cost more; specifically, $2.5k more.  So if you want to claim Oklahoma breds Electrick County or Goddess of Wonder or Bizzar Brown, the cost will be $10k, not $7.5k.  However, if you claim Oklahoma breds Pojoaque or Miss Independent or Data Baby, the price tag is just $7.5k.

Having researched this further, it appears that a requirement for the Oklahoma bred claiming price bonus is not just that the runner be bred in Oklahoma, but also that the sire is an accredited Oklahoma bred stallion.  So what exactly is an accredited Oklahoma-bred stallion?  Well, quoting from Chapter 75 of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission Rules of Racing:

"An accredited Oklahoma-Bred  is one that is domiciled in Oklahoma, stands for service in Oklahoma, and is enrolled in the Oklahoma-Bred stallion registry."

So while Pojoaque, for example, is an Oklahoma bred filly, Pojoaque's sire, Temple City, stands at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky.  Likewise Data Link, the sire of Oklahoma bred Data Baby, stood at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky prior to his retirement from stud duty.  Since neither of those sires were domiciled in Oklahoma, their progeny are not eligible for the claiming price bonus.  So one more mystery in life is solved.

Returning to the mystery of Race 5, Flashin the Cash looks quickest here, and Flashin the Cash should benefit from the class drop.  Rathmeister and Bizzar Brown filled out the bottom two rungs of the Trifecta at this class level last time out; though I would not be surprised if they swapped positions today, as I think the cutback in distance favors Bizzar Brown.

No Relief in Sight took the Show at this class level last time out.  No Relief in Sight is also going second off the claim for Trainer Steve Asmussen, who tends to do well with such.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 6 - [S] MSW - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 6 Absaroka (ML 4-5)

B's

None

C's

# 1 Poppy's Oats (ML 6-1)
# 2 Wild Paint (ML 12-1)
# 3 Georgia Deputy (ML 5-1)
# 4 Yip Yip Kip (ML 12-1)
# 5 Oklahoma Line (ML 4-1)
# 7 Talk Big Money (ML 20-1)

Absaroka was much improved last time out, going two turns for the first time, as he took the Place at this class level behind a next out winner.  Debut runner Wild Paint, like Absaroka, is by 2013 Cigar Mile winner Flat Out; so if you're unsure about singling in this leg, that's one that you could consider.  But as for me I'm going one deep here, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 7 - ALW N1X - Eight and a Third Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 1 Gray Hope (ML 7-2)

B's

# 9 Kenai Bob (ML 4-1)
# 10 Forestdungone (ML 6-1)

C's

# 2 Comedian (ML 3-1)
# 3 Gospel Carlo (ML 30-1)
# 4 Cowboy Pride (ML 30-1)

# 5 Drifting West (ML 7-2)
# 6 Fallstar (ML 10-1)
# 7 Sonic Jet (ML 20-1)
# 8 Yak (ML 30-1)

# 11 Towering Oak (ML 30-1)

Gray Hope, son of Paddy O'Prado, would be much more preferred if this contest was on the turf.  Be that as it may, Gray Hope was successful on this main track last time out, and won by enough to suggest that he can handle the rise in class.

Kenai Bob and Forestdungone filled out the bottom two rungs of the Trifecta at this class level last time out.  If I was looking to save some bankroll, I would be very tempted to drop Kenai Bob from the main ticket, as Kenai Bob seems to settle for too many minor awards.  But tempting as that may be, I ultimately decided to go with Kenai Bob as a "B" Selections, while using the rest of the field as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 8 - (F) OC 40k B - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 7 Rose of Malibu (ML 9-5)

B’s

# 1 Inagoodway (ML 7-2)
# 2 Broadway County (ML 20-1)
# 4 Keetonville (ML 15-1)
# 5 Pinup Girl (ML 20-1)
# 6 Sure Thing Sheila (ML 8-1)
# 8 Terra's Angel (ML 6-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 3 Clever Serve (ML 5-2)

For those who note such things, just three runners in this field are in for a tag: Broadway County and Sure Thing Sheila are up for sale at $40k apiece; while Oklahoma bred Inagoodway will cost you $45k at the claim box.

Rose of Malibu hasn't visited the Winner's Circle in over a year; but Rose of Malibu seems to have a solid class edge over the rest of the field.  Inagoodway could be speed on the rail.  Keetonville was victorious going a mile on the grass; maybe that form will carry over to the main track.

Pinup Girl is making her first career start over this main track; though she seems to have been working well over this surface.  Pinup Girl is a bit of specialist at today's distance, having won three out of her six lifetime tries at a mile, along with two other in the money finishes.

Sure Thing Sheila is the horse for the course in this field, with five Wins and two Place finishes in her eight career races over this main track.  Terra's Angel got under the wire in front of Rose of Malibu at this class level back in July at Lone Star Park; but that was in Rose of Malibu's only career turf start.

That leaves Broadway County; and, well, I can't go "ALL but one" in a leg; so "ALL" it is.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 5 with 6 with 1 with 7 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,5,11,12 with 6 with 1,9,10 with ALL $42.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,3,4,6,7,8,9,10 with 6 with 1 with 7 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 5 with 1,2,3,4,5,7 with 1 with 7 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 5 with 6 with 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,11 with 7 $4.00

Total: $54.00

Post Time for Race 5 is 9:59 EST / 6:59 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

Happy Thanksgiving

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

- Melody Beattie

“One of the very first things I figured out about life is that it’s better to be a grateful person than a grumpy one, because you have to live in the same world either way, and if you’re grateful, you have more fun.”

- Barbara Kingsolver

11/23/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 6 Bazooka (Final Odds 1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 6 Eurobond (0.10*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 2 Bright Bling (0.10*) - "A" Selection & "C" Selection*
Race 9 - # 4 C P Quality (1.00*) - "B" Selection

* - # 6 Sooner Surprise, a "C" Selection, was a late scratch from Race 8; I therefore received Post Time Favorite Bright Bling in her place.

My play was looking good when the field came into the stretch in the nightcap; but then "A" Selection # 2 I'mabarncat, on the inside rail, began to drift, and drift, and then drift some more; eventual ending up on the outside rail.  And while I'mabarncat was still able to hold onto the Place, all that sideways movement allowed # 4 C P Quality to get under the wire first; which, for me, was a significantly less satisfying result.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other four runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 1 Hana Highway (10.60) - $32.95 Finish: 4th
# 2 I’mabarnkat (1.40) - $6.15 Finish: 2nd
# 3 Lunera (Mex) (18.80) - $37.30 Finish: 5th
# 7 Valokie (4.50) - $12.40 Finish: 3rd

Note that had I'mabarnkat won I would have collected the above payout four times: once for the big ticket; twice for the all “A” Selections ticket; and once for a Three A’s and One “C” ticket, thanks to the late scratch of Sooner Surprise in the third leg.

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Primetime Pick Four sequence of  6 / 6 / 2 / 4  which paid $8.65 for a fifty cent wager.  Since I originally invested $12.50 in my play, I manage once again at Remington Park to cash at a loss; an annoying habit to have acquired.  For while cashing at a loss is definitely better than not cashing at all, it's certainly not what I had in mind when I placed my bets.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/23/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Preview

For those who may have not yet heard, I have the sad news to report that multiple cases of equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) have been diagnosed among the horse population at Remington Park; one of whom unfortunately succumbing to the disease.  Because of that, the track is effectively on lock down, with no runners being shipped in or out.  This is especially heartbreaking news for those who were scheduled to compete in the Land of Enchantment card this coming Wednesday at Zia Park.

Also affected by the outbreak is Saturday's card in Oklahoma City; for example, three entrants in the nightcap who are stabled outside of the track will not be running tonight, and have been scratched.  Because of the depleted fields, honesty compels me to confess that there may not be much to see here; but this is horse racing, and there's no telling what may happen until the "OFFICIAL" sign lights up.  So with that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Primetime Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 6 - Clm $7.5k N3L - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 6 Bazooka (Morning Line 2-1)

B’s

# 2 Bernardian (ML 5-1)

C's

# 1 Nations Hope (ML 9-2)
# 3 Sensational Sam (ML 3-1)
# 4 John Allen (ML 15-1)
# 5 Spring for Gold (ML 10-1)
# 7 Air Force Cadet (ML 6-1)

If you want to claim an Oklahoma bred from this contest, it'll cost you an extra $2.5k; or, rather, it would if there were any Oklahoma breds running.

Bazooka moves up to non-Winners of Three Lifetime company after obtaining his second career victory last time out by coming from off the pace.  Bernardian took the Show at this class level last time out, and could be quickest here.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - Clm $20k - Five and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 6 Eurobond (ML 7-5)

B’s

None

C's

# 1 Googleado (Arg) (ML 15-1)
# 3 Mallory's Bandit (ML 20-1)
# 5 Texas Long Bow (ML 10-1)
# 7 Louden's Gray (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 2 Drc All Inclusive (ML 9-5) and # 4 Euramaster (ML 6-1)

As per usual, Oklahoma breds cost more; so if you want to claim Eurobond, it'll cost you an extra $5k.

With the scratch of Drc All Inclusive, Eurobond, winner of his last three, looks much the best here.  For those who prefer not to single in this leg, or who just want to go in a different direction, Louden's Gray could move up with the cutback in distance; though ultimately I decided to go just one deep here, thereby slotting Louden's Gray as a backup "C" Selection, along with the rest of the field.

RACE 8 - (F) [S] Clm $25k N2L - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 2 Bright Bling (ML 1-1)

B's

None

C's

# 3 Natalie's Toccet (ML 15-1)
# 5 Sherry Babe (ML 20-1)
# 6 Sooner Surprise (ML 20-1)
# 7 Baudette (ML 6-1)

Scratch # 1 Mighty Heidi (ML 2-1) and # 4 Flashy Bisonette (ML 10-1)

Bright Bling took the Place against open (non-state bred restricted) $25k N2L company last time out.  A concern with Bright Bling is that she may settle for too many minor awards; but Bright Bling just looks too much the best here to justify doubling the cost of the ticket by adding another runner.  So Bright Bling will be a big ticket single in my play, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 9 - (F) ALW N1X - Six Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 2 I'mabarnkat (ML 6-5)

B's

# 1 Hana Highway (ML 8-1)
# 3 Lunera (ML 20-1)
# 4 C P Quality (ML 5-2)
# 7 Valokie (ML 4-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 5 Another Rocket (ML 20-1); # 6 Fabulous Girl (ML 12-1); and # 8 Gorgeouswitha G (ML 20-1)

I'mabarnkat, C P Quality, and Valokie filled out the bottom three rungs of the Superfecta at this class level last time out.  Hana Highway could be speed on the rail; and Hana Highway should appreciate the class relief.  Lundera showed signs of waking up last time out, and could improve going third off the layoff.  And that's everyone, so it looks like I'm going "ALL" in this leg.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 6 with 6 with 2 with 2 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,6 with 6 with 2 with ALL $5.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,3,4,5,7 with 6 with 2 with 2 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 6 with 1,3,5,7 with 2 with 2 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 6 with 3,5,6,7 with 2 $2.00

Total: $12.50

Post Time for Race 6 is 10:27 EST / 7:27 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/16/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 4 Nacogdoches (Final Odds 1.20*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 1 Catdaddy (3.90) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 4 Eva's Candy (53.60) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - # 3 Lucky Every Day (2.20*) - "B" Selection

As can be seen above, I chose the wrong leg in which in punch the "ALL" button; for it was the penultimate race, rather than the nightcap, which saw the chaos result; while the Post Time Favorite was a clear winner to end the sequence.

"A" Selection and Post Time Favorite # 2 Alternative Slew (1.00*) gave it her all in Race 8, fighting on the front end and grabbing the lead in stretch; but Alternative Slew could not hold off the late charging Eva's Candy on the line.  Meanwhile, # 8 Cardi Deville  (63.00) tried her best in the finale to make me look smart by grabbing the Place; though it should be noted that I would have been smart only in advice but not in my play, as Cardi Deville was one of the four runners that I left off my main ticket for the last leg.  So make the Place finishing Favorite in the third leg the winner, and make the Place finishing long shot the winner of the nightcap, and Saturday is still a day for me to contribute instead of collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Primetime Pick Four sequence of  4 / 1 / 4 / 3  were rewarded with a payout of $19,455.85 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/16/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Preview

Hopefully at least a few of you caught the action at Remington Park last night, as a trio of stakes featuring Oklahoma breds headlined what was a very fine card.  Looking forward to tonight's action, while there are no stakes on the program, there are a pair of Allowance races among the final four contests on the card, as well as what looks to be a very competitive juvenile Maiden Special Weights, which is scheduled as the nightcap.  So with all that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Primetime Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 6 - Clm $20k N2L - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Nacogdoches (Morning Line 2-1)

B’s

None

C's

# 2 Cha Cha Now Y'all (ML 6-1)
# 3 Officer Sid (ML 10-1)
# 5 Wil of Fortune (ML 15-1)
# 6 Clipboard Money (ML 7-2)
# 7 Jazz Music (ML 3-1)

Scratch # 1 Lons Shackleford (ML 5-1)

For those who note such things, there is no surcharge for Oklahoma breds in this contest; so if you want to claim Wil of Fortune, it will cost you the same twenty grand as it would for any of the other entrants.  For the record, the conditions did contain the option to put your runner in for only $15k in exchange for getting a couple of pounds off your horse's back; but none entered checked that box.

The Steve Asmussen trained Nacogdoches closed well last time out to take the Place at Ellis Park.  Nacogdoches broke his maiden in his debut in his only prior try over this main track.

Singling Nacogdoches on the main ticket may prove to be an unwise move, as Clipboard Money (who graduated last time) may prove to be too quick to catch; and Jazz Music (the "other" Asmussen) could benefit from the cutback in distance.  But I think Nacogdoches is well meant here, and I want to spread in the upcoming events; so going three deep, or even just two, is out of the question.  Besides, if you're going to single, the first leg is the best time to do it.  So Nacogdoches will be going solo on the big ticket, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 7 - ALW N2X - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 2 Cookies Are Good (ML 4-1)

B's

# 1 Catdaddy (ML 3-1)
# 7 Dobbins G (ML 15-1)
# 9 Drop of Golden Sun (ML 7-2)

C's

# 3 Praetorian (ML 6-1)
# 5 Molleck (ML 8-1)
# 6 Charlie's Schiller (ML 20-1)

# 8 Itsallaboutyou (ML 9-2)

Scratch # 4 Bo Tee (ML 20-1)

Cookies Are Good closed well to win each of his last two contests.  Catdaddy's lifetime record is a very unimpressive 2-for-28; but both of those Wins came over this main track, in just eleven tries.

Dobbins G could be quickest here.  Drop of Golden Sun could improve competing on a drier surface.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 8 - (F) ALW N1X - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A's

# 2 Alternative Slew (ML 2-1)

B's

# 5 North of Eden (ML 8-1)
# 7 Wild Moment (ML 7-5)

C's

# 1 Beryl's Flight (ML 20-1)
# 3 Franki D Oro (ML 20-1)
# 4 Eva's Candy (ML 30-1)

# 6 Mizz Fabulous (ML 6-1)
# 8 Baladera (ML 12-1)
# 9 Primary Cause (ML 15-1)

Alternative Slew misses by just a neck of entering this contest with a four race winning streak.  North of Eden moves up in class from the claiming ranks; but Trainer Miguel Silva tends to do well when placing his last out victors.

Wild Moment took the Show behind a next out winner in an ALW N2X contest last time out, and now joins the barn of Trainer Steve Asmussen.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 9 - (F) MSW - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 9 Restore Harmony (ML 15-1)

B's

# 2 Gurl You Fine (ML 9-2)
# 3 Lucky Every Day (ML 5-2)
# 6 Cleverly (ML 6-1)
# 7 Lady Ave (ML 8-1)
# 10 Sailsinthesunset (ML 4-1)
# 11 Lil Red Vette (ML 10-1)
# 12 Miss Aggie Bling (ML 30-1)

C's

# 1 Dial Dish (ML 20-1)
# 4 Shot At Stardom (ML 30-1)

# 5 Triple Account (ML 20-1)
# 8 Cadi Deville (ML 20-1)

These are juvenile fillies, and only one of the half dozen experienced runners has ever finished in the Trifecta.  So if you've got the budget, my best advice here is to just punch the "ALL" button.  As for my play, I think I've got it right.  I put Restore Harmony as my top pick because I like her chances of carrying her speed further with the cutback in distance and getting to compete on a drier track.  The backup "C" Selections are those which I think have the least chance of hurting me; but, again, if it's within your budget, I strongly suggest going "ALL" in on this leg.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 4 with 2 with 2 with 9 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 4 with 1,2,7,9 with 2,5,7 with 2,3,6,7,9,10,11,12 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,5,6,7 with 2 with 2 with 9 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 4 with 3,5,6,8 with 2 with 9 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 4 with 2 with 1,3,4,6,8,9 with 9 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 4 with 2 with 2 with 1,4,5,8 $2.00

Total: $58.50

Post Time for Race 6 is 10:27 EST / 7:27 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

Free Brisnet Past Performances - An Update and Redirection

It was approximately six years ago that I created this post providing links for those so interested to obtain free Brisnet Past Performances.  I commented at the time that, since many ADW's now offer free past performances to their customers, many of you would find little use for such; and I imagine that this is even more true today.  However, I am aware that a good number of you do still refer to that page for the free PPs; often times when you just want to look at a race or two, and you aren't yet sure if you're going to find the race playable (as most ADW's do require a wager or two in return for them providing free PPs).

Another reason why I know that the free Brisnet Past Performances page is still finding an audience is because I've been getting reports that some of the links are not working.  I've updated and tested all of them; yet it appears that some are still not firing as they should for all users.  So, rather than doing the hard and perhaps impossible work of trying to figure out why something computer related is not working properly, I've decided instead to simply direct you elsewhere; specifically, to HorseRacingNation.com

If you go on over to HorseRacingNation.com you'll find pretty much what you find on my page: links that will direct you to free Brisnet Past Performances listed by owners, trainers, and farms for any race in which one of the listed owners or trainers have an entry; or for the farms that have an entry that was sired by one of their stallions.  So, for example, if you were to click the link for Doug O'Neill, you would be taken to a page from where you can download free Brisnet Past Performances for any race containing an entrant trained by O'Neill.  Likewise if you were to click the link for Winstar Farm, you would be directed to a page where you could download free PPs for any race that had an entrant that was sired by a Winstar Farm stallion (such as Carpe Diem or Paynter).

Incidentally, for the sake of full disclosure, I will note here that, contrary to what was true six years ago, I personally primarily use Past Performances from Brisnet, having switched over from Daily Racing Form PPs some time ago.  Without going into specifics, I simply find that the Brisnet PPs work best for me; and really, that's the most important part of choosing which brand of Past Performances you should use; determining which one, be it Brisnet, DRF, Equibase, TimeFormUS, etc., etc., works best for you.

Note that the Brisnet PP's do not contain Beyer Speed Figures, as those are proprietary to DRF; however, Brisnet does calculate their own speed figures, as well as their own pace figures.  Likewise with breeding: Tomlinson Ratings are proprietary to DRF, while Brisnet offers their own ratings for turf, off tracks, etc. to guide you in your selections.  A full explanation of how Brisnet PP's work is available here.

So to recap: If you're looking for free Brisnet Past Performances, feel free to check out this post that I created back in 2013.  However, you're probably better off obtaining your free Brisnet Past Performances from this page over at HorseRacingNation.com, as their links seem to consistently work better than mine.  And should you decide that you want to purchase Brisnet Past Performances, the place to do that is over at Brisnet.com.

Good luck!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/9/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 1 Bazooka (Final Odds 4.10) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 1 Fallstar (1.80*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 9 No Lak of Speed (2.20) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 9 Brenda's Fever (3.30) - "C" Selection

Brenda's Fever certainly fit as a contender in the nightcap based upon class, having won at this level her previous time out.  But that previous time out was at a distance of just five and a half furlongs.  If you wanted to find the last time that Brenda's Fever finished in the Trifecta going a mile or longer you would have had to go back more than ten races, to a time when she was traveling between the barns of Trainer Steve Asmussen and Trainer Brad Cox.  So concerns about her making the distance led me to leave Brenda's Fever off my main ticket; and not having Brenda's Fever on my main ticket is what led me to contributing Saturday, instead of collecting.

Oh well; onto the next race.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the two runners to which I would have cashed in the final leg:

# 7 A J's Grand (1.40*) - $100.00 Finish: 4th
# 12 Skip's Song (4.50) - $219.85 Finish: 6th

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 1 / 9 / 9  were rewarded with a payout of $137.65 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/9/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Preview

Hey, Del Mar is running!  You know, the place Where The Turf Meets The Surf.  So why am I not playing that card?  Well, as much as I love following the racing at Del Mar, after careful consideration I decided that I would rather stick with Remington Park.  Post Times were a large factor in my decision, as I've really grown used to the later start times; which is another way of saying that I've become spoiled by not having to rush through these previews in order to get them online in time.  But while I will continue posting Remington Park plays, I will certainly also continue to follow the action in Southern California (as, I believe, all dedicated race fans should).  So with all that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Primetime Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 6 - Clm $7.5k N2L - Eight and a Third Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 De Bird Is Da Word (Morning Line 5-2)

B’s

# 1 Bazooka (ML 3-1)
# 6 Anvil Rock (ML 20-1)
# 9 Gran Red (ML 7-2)

C's

# 1 Bazooka (ML 3-1)
# 2 Bring the Dough (ML 15-1)
# 4 Runforusrun (ML 10-1)
# 5 Proud Moments (ML 8-1)
# 7 Crafty's Last (ML 15-1)
# 8 Curandero (ML 30-1)
# 10 Dandy Van (ML 30-1)
# 11 Samurai Ranger (ML 30-1)
# 12 Indian Sun (ML 15-1)

As is typical for Claiming Races at Remington Park, the price for Oklahoma breds is higher than it is for the rest of the field.  Or, rather, it would be if there were any Oklahoma breds in this field.

De Bird Is Da Word, Bazooka, and Gran Red have all shown the ability to finish in the money at this class level; now it's just a question of which one won't hang today.  Anvil Rock could improve competing over a Fast main track.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 7 - MSW - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 New Mexico (ML 4-1)

B's

# 1 Fallstar (ML 5-2)
# 8 Shelly's Dream (ML 9-2)

C's

# 2 Rogues Road (ML 10-1)
# 4 Insurrection (ML 7-2)
# 7 High Priority (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 5 Majestic Display (ML 6-1) and # 6 Uncle Pat (ML 30-1)

New Mexico, a debut runner for Trainer Steve Asmussen, is out of Royal Irish Lass, who also foaled Royal Mo, winner of the Grade 3 Robert B Lewis in 2017.  Fallstar returns from an extended layoff, having previously competed on both coasts.  Shelly's Dream missed graduation by less than a length at this class level at today's distance last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - ALW N1X - Five Furlongs Turf

A's

# 2 Sladens Dream (ML 2-1)

B's

# 3 Exciting (ML 6-1)
# 7 Dance to My Song (ML 5-2)
# 8 Dance Doctor (ML 12-1)

# 9 No Lak of Speed (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Eurobadguy (ML 30-1)
# 4 Burtnjoe (ML 12-1)
# 5 Larch (ML 30-1)
# 6 Tale of a Storm (ML 20-1)

Sladens Drean could improve with the cutback in distance.  No Lak of Speed, Dance to My Song, and Exciting filled out the bottom three rungs of the Superfecta at this class level last time out.  Dance Doctor could move up going third off the layoff.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 9 - (F) Clm $5k B - Eight and a Third Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 7 A J's Grand (ML 5-2)

B's

# 12 Skip's Song (ML 6-1)

C's

# 1 Desert Madam (ML 5-1)
# 2 Eye On Harper (ML 20-1)
# 3 Konawa Kween (ML 12-1)
# 4 A Kiss Goodnight (ML 15-1)
# 5 Stalker (ML 30-1)
# 6 Flashflood Warning (ML 30-1)
# 8 Canela Caliente (ML 15-1)
# 9 Brenda's Fever (ML 3-1)
# 10 Sundance Seven (ML 15-1)
# 11 Stina (ML 15-1)

This contest is restricted to fillies and mares which have either:

1) Not won a race at a mile or longer since May 9, 2019; OR
2) Which have never won four races.

So as long as a filly or mare has fewer than four career Wins, then she's eligible to run in this race.  If a distaff runner has four career Wins or more, then none of those Wins could have come in the last six months, unless the distance was less than eight furlongs (note that races where the runner was entered for $4k or less don't count).  For the record Eye On Harper, A Kiss Goodnight, Sundance Seven, and Skip's Song are the four runners in this field with fewer than four career Wins.

Also note that, as per usual at Remington Park, Oklahoma breds cost more; $6.25k versus the $5k for all others.  Konawa Kween and Flashflood Warning are two Oklahoma breds in for the higher price tag.  A Kiss Goodnight is also an Oklahoma bred; but for reasons unbeknownst to me, A Kiss Goodnight is in for only $5k.  If anyone should know why that is, I'd be most grateful if they would share that information.

A J's Grand took the Place at this class level last time out.  Skip's Song was victorious at this class level in her last main track start.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 3 with 3 with 2 with 7 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,3,6,9 with 1,3,8 with 2,3,7,8,9 with 7,12 $60.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,4,5,7,8,10,11,12 with 3 with 2 with 7 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 3 with 2,4,7 with 2 with 7 $1.50
$0.50 P4: 3 with 3 with 1,4,5,6 with 7 $2.00
$0.50 P4: 3 with 3 with 2 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11 $5.00

Total: $73.50

Post Time for Race 6 is 10:27 EST / 7:27 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/2/19 Santa Anita All BC Late Pick Four - Results

Race 9 - The BC Mile - # 11 Uni (GB) (Final Odds 3.60) - "B" Selection
Race 10 - The BC Distaff - # 11 Blue Prize (Arg) (8.90) - "B" Selection
Race 11 - The BC Turf - # 9 Bricks and Mortar (1.00*) - "A" Selection
Race 12 - The BC Classic - # 10 Vino Rosso (4.60) - "B" Selection

In my three Breeders' Cup Pick Four plays this weekend, I identified four runners that I thought probably should have been main ticket singles; but that I was pairing up with another entrant anyway.  Those four (along with their eventual finish) were:

Arizona (Ire) (2.10*) - The BC Juvenile Turf - Finish: 5th
Sistercharlie (Ire) (0.80*) - The BC Filly and Mare Turf - Finish: 3rd
Midnight Bisou (1.00*) - The BC Distaff - Finish: 2nd
Bricks and Mortar (1.00*) - The BC Turf - Finish: 1st

I'm not sure what exactly to make out of that, other than it's probably a good idea for me not to single a runner every time that I believe that I should.  Which, as it turns out, was indeed the correct strategy in this sequence, at least as far as Midnight Bisou was concerned; because without Blue Prize (Arg) on the main ticket I would not have cashed.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other five runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 5 Yoshida (Jpn) (7.40) - $586.30 Finish: 8th
# 6 Elate (9.30) - $599.65 Finish: 4th
# 8 McKinzie (2.90*) - $275.20 Finish: 2nd
# 9 Mongolian Groom (15.60) - $1,465.40 Finish: DNF
# 11 Code of Honor (3.70) - $228.90 Finish: 7th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct All BC Late Pick Four sequence of  11 / 11 / 9 / 10  which paid $440.80 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $352.30 on my initial $88.50 investment; or approximate odds of 3.98-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/2/19 Santa Anita All BC Earlier Pick Four - Results

Race 4 - The BC F&M Sprint - # 1 Covfefe (Final Odd 1.50*) - "A" Selection
Race 5 - The BC Turf Sprint - # 12 Belvoir Bay (GB) (14.80) - "B" Selection
Race 6 - The BC Dirt Mile - # 3 Spun to Run (9.10) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - The BC F&M Turf - # 1 Iridessa (Ire) (13.20) - "C" Selection

Getting a 14-1 shot home is pretty much what you're hoping for when you punch the "ALL" button, as I did in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.  And getting a 9-1 "A" Selection home is a feather in any handicapper's hat, which is what happened in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.  But unfortunately for me it was all for naught, as Vasilika (4.60) was just a nose too slow in getting under the wire in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Oh well; onto the next race.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the two runners to which I would have cashed in the final leg:

# 2 Sistercharlie (0.80*) - $639.85 Finish: 3rd
# 7 Vasilika (4.60) - $1,873.10 Finish: 2nd

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 12 / 3 / 1  were rewarded with a payout of $3,508.30 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/2/19 Santa Anita All BC Late Pick Four - Preview

Just to be clear, this is the Pick Four that culminates with The Breeders' Cup Classic, the 12th and final race on Saturday's program in Southern California.  So with that settled let's just get to it, as I take another run at an all Breeders' Cup Pick Four at The Great Race Place.

RACE 9 - The Breeders' Cup Mile (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 6 Got Stormy (Morning Line 7-2)

B's

# 5 True Valour (Ire) (ML 20-1)
# 8 El Tormenta (ML 12-1)
# 9 Circus Maximus (Ire) (ML 3-1)
# 11 Uni (GB) (ML 7-2)
# 14 Bowies Hero (ML 12-1)

C's

# 2 Lucullan (ML 12-1)
# 3 Space Traveler (GB) (ML 12-1)
# 4 Trais Fluors (GB) (ML 20-1)
# 10 Without Parole (GB) (ML 20-1)
# 12 Lord Glitters (Fr) (ML 12-1)
# 13 Hey Gaman (GB) (ML 12-1)
# 16 Next Shares (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 1 Suedois (Fr) (ML 20-1) and # 15 Caribou Club (ML 15-1)
EDIT: Also Scratch # 7 Bolo (ML 30-1)

Got Stormy and Uni (GB), the two distaff runners taking on the boys, filled out two thirds of the Trifecta when they competed against the males at Saratoga this past August in the Grade 1 Fourstardave.  True Valour (Ire) could get a nice pressing trip from the five hole.  El Tormenta will try to prove that his big upset in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile, when he got under the wire a half length in front of Got Stormy, was no fluke.

Circus Maximus (Ire) could be classiest here.  Bowies Hero could be the one running best late.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 10 - (F) The Breeders' Cup Distaff (Grade 1) - Nine Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Midnight Bisou (ML 6-5)

B's

# 11 Blue Prize (Arg) (ML 6-1)

C's

# 1 Paradise Woods (ML 5-1)
# 2 Ollie's Candy (ML 15-1)
# 3 Street Band (ML 10-1)
# 5 Dunbar Road (ML 6-1)
# 6 Wow Cat (Chi) (ML 15-1)
# 7 Secret Spice (ML 10-1)
# 8 La Force (Ger) (ML 30-1)
# 9 Serengeti Empress (ML 12-1)
# 10 Mo See Cal (ML 30-1)

Midnight Bisou, seven-for-seven in 2019, looks clear best here, and probably should be a single, and just how many times am I going to type that phrase this weekend?  But Blue Prize (Arg) looked good winning the Grade 1 Spinster this year; you know, just like she did last year, and, well, maybe this time Blue Prize can keep that momentum going.  So, yeah, two deep it is, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 11 - The Breeders' Cup Turf (Grade 1) - Twelve Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 9 Bricks and Mortar (ML 9-5)

B's

# 7 Alounak (Fr) (ML 20-1)

C's

# 1 Zulu Alpha (ML 20-1)
# 2 Acclimate (ML 20-1)
# 3 United (ML 20-1)
# 4 Mount Everest (Ire) (ML 15-1)
# 5 Anthony Van Dyck (ML 3-1)
# 6 Channel Cat (ML 15-1)
# 8 Bandua (ML 20-1)
# 10 Old Persian (GB) (ML 4-1)
# 11 Arklow (ML 12-1)
# 12 Channel Maker (ML 10-1)

Bricks and Mortar looks clear best here, etc., etc., etc., etc.  But Alounak (Fr) etc., etc., etc.  Yes, yet another leg where I should probably single but I'm not.  Two deep, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 12 - The Breeders' Cup Classic (Grade 1) - Ten Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 11 Code of Honor (ML 4-1)

B's

# 5 Yoshida (Jpn)  (ML 8-1)
# 6 Elate (ML 6-1)
# 8 McKinzie (ML 3-1)
# 9 Mongolian Groom (ML 12-1)
# 10 Vino Rosso (ML 4-1)

C's

# 1 Math Wizard (ML 30-1)
# 2 Seeking the Soul (ML 20-1)
# 3 Owendale (ML 15-1)
# 4 War of Will (ML 20-1)
# 7 Higher Power (ML 6-1)

While there probably won't be a major pace meltdown here, I think there is enough speed that Code of Honor, with his far outside draw, should have enough to run at in the late stages.  Yoshida (Jpn) will probably be the one running best late; but the concern with Yoshida is that he may be too far back for it to matter.

Elate is the female taking on the males; and she just might be good enough to get the job done.  McKinzie has disappointed as the Post Time Favorite four times in his last six starts; but there's just too much talent in this runner to leave him off the ticket.

Mongolian Groom will be trying to prove that his Win in the Grade 1 Awesome Again over this main track was no fluke; but the added distance does him no favors.  Vino Rosso probably won't be quickest here; but Vino Rosso should be forwardly placed, and if he can rate Saturday, he may have enough in the tank so that he can avoid doing the bump down the stretch in order to hang on to win.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 6 with 4 with 9 with 11 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 5,6,8,9,11,14 with 4,11 with 7,9 with 5,6,8,9,10,11 $72.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,4,10,12,13,16 with 4 with 9 with 11 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 6 with 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10 with 9 with 11 $4.50
$0.50 P4: 6 with 4 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10,11,12 with 11 $5.00
$0.50 P4: 6 with 4 with 9 with 1,2,3,4,7 $2.50

Total: $88.50

Post Time for Race 9 is 6:20 EDT / 3:20 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/2/19 Santa Anita All BC Earlier Pick Four - Preview

As was the case last year in Kentucky, there are four, yes four, Pick Four plays being offered at Santa Anita Park Saturday for Day 2 of the 2019 Breeders' Cup.  This preview is for for the second of the four; the one beginning with Race 4, the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.  Hopefully very soon I'll be posting a preview for the Pick 4 which culminates with the Breeders' Cup Classic.  So if all that is clear then let's get to it, as I take another run at an all Breeders' Cup Pick Four at The Great Race Place.

RACE 4 - (F) The Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (Grade 1) - Seven Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 1 Covfefe (Morning Line 2-1)
# 4 Come Dancing (Morning Line 5-2)

B's

None

C's

# 2 Danuska's My Girl (ML 20-1)
# 3 Heavenhasmynikki (ML 20-1)
# 5 Lady Ninja (ML 10-1)
# 6 Bellafina (ML 6-1)
# 7 Selcourt (ML 10-1)
# 8 Dawn the Destroyer (ML 12-1)
# 9 Spiced Perfection (ML 4-1)

Covfefe and Come Dancing look to be head and shoulders above the rest of the field; and there doesn't seem to be much point in trying to choose between the two.  So make Covfefe and Come Dancing joint "A" Selections, with all others being used as backup "C's".

RACE 5 - The Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (Grade 1) - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Pure Sensation (ML 5-1)

B's

# 1 Totally Boss (ML 5-1)
# 3 Imprimis (ML 8-1)
# 4 Shekky Shebaz (ML 12-1)
# 5 Stubbins (ML 12-1)
# 6 Stormy Liberal (ML 8-1)
# 7 Leinster (ML 8-1)
# 8 Legends of War (ML 20-1)
# 9 Final Frontier (ML 6-1)
# 10 Eddie Haskell (ML 9-2)
# 11 Om (ML 15-1)
# 12 Belvoir Bay (GB) (ML 12-1)

C's

None

Scratch the Also Eligibles, # 13 Girls Know Best (ML 20-1) and # 14 Double Touch (GB) (ML 30-1)

You know, I spent more time on this race than I spent on the other three legs of this sequence combined; and at some point, you just have to admit that you don't have a handle on the race.  I don't have a handle on this race.  Maybe, maybe, I can eliminate three or four runners from this field; but why?  So everybody into the pool, as I go "ALL" in for this event.

RACE 6 - The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Spun to Run (ML 6-1)

B's

# 1 Giant Expectations (ML 12-1)
# 2 Improbable  (ML 5-2)
# 5 Omaha Beach (ML 8-5)
# 9 Diamond Oops (ML 15-1)

C's

# 4 Mr. Money (ML 6-1)
# 6 Ambassadorial (ML 30-1)
# 7 Coal Front (ML 6-1)
# 8 Blue Chipper (ML 20-1)
# 10 Snapper Sinclair (ML 30-1)

Spun to Run has raced four times this year at a distance of a mile or greater but less than a mile and an eighth; and Spun to Run has been victorious each of those four times.  Giant Expectations is seems to settle for too many minor awards; but maybe the rail draw will help Giant Expectations stay focused.

Improbable should improve with the cutback in distance.  Omaha Beach competing here is like a prize fighter competing at a catch weight; he can win longer or shorter, so no reason why he can't win here.

As well as he ran last time out, Diamond Oops should improve with the return to the main track.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - (F) The Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (Grade 1) - Ten Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Sistercharlie (Ire) (ML 8-5)

B's

# 7 Vasilika (ML 8-1)

C's

# 1 Iridessa (Ire) (ML 8-1)
# 4 Billesdon Brook (GB) (ML 10-1)
# 5 Mirth (ML 20-1)# 8 Castle Lady (Ire) (ML 15-1)
# 9 Villa Marina (GB) (ML 8-1)
# 10 Mrs. Sippy (ML 8-1)
# 11 Just Wonderful (ML 20-1)
# 12 Fanny Logan (Ire) (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 3 Fleeting (Ire) (ML 6-1) and # 6 Thais (Fr) (ML 30-1)

Sistercharlie (Ire) probably should be a single here, cutting the cost of the main ticket in half.  But Vasilika has just been so dominant over this turf course, winning eleven of her twelve career starts here, that I just couldn't bring myself to leave her off the main ticket.  So two deep it is, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1,4 with 2 with 3 with 2 $2.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,4 with ALL with 1,2,3,5,9 with 2,7 $120.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,5,6,7,8,9 with 2 with 3 with 2 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 1,4 with 2 with 4,6,7,8,10 with 2 $5.00
$0.50 P4: 1,4 with 2 with 3 with 1,4,5,8,9,10,11,12 $8.00

Total: $138.50

Post Time for Race 4 is 2:55 EDT / 11:55 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/1/19 Santa Anita All Breeders' Cup Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf - # 2 Structor (Final Odds 5.30) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies - # 4 British Idiom (2.70) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf - # 11 Sharing (13.80) - "C" Selection
Race 9 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile - # 4 Storm the Court (45.90) - "C" Selection

You know, some days it just isn't your day.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct All Breeders' Cup Pick Four sequence of  2 / 4 / 11 / 4  were rewarded with a payout of $18,171.65 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

11/1/19 Santa Anita All Breeders' Cup Pick Four - Preview

It's that time of year, again; it's The Breeders' Cup, the horse player's Super Bowl, the handicapper's World Series; and it kicks off today, with Future Stars Friday.  So before I give any of my selections, allow me please to give you the most important tip of all: HAVE FUN.  These are ours days; so let's enjoy them.

As to any general handicapping tips: keep in mind that these are the best horses in each of their respective categories.  So no matter which runner(s) you land on in any specific event, you're landing on a good horse.  Conversely, unless you plan on going "ALL" in each leg, you're going to have to eliminate good horses from your tickets.  So with all that let's get to it, as I take a run at an all Breeders' Cup Pick Four at The Great Race Place.

RACE 6 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 12 Arizona (Ire) (ML 5-2)

B's

# 3 Peace Achieved (ML 10-1)

C's

# 1 Our Country (ML 15-1)
# 2 Structor (ML 5-1)
# 4 Decorated Invader (ML 4-1)
# 6 Graceful Kitten (ML 15-1)
# 7 Andesite (ML 12-1)
# 8 Billy Batts (ML 20-1)
# 9 Gear Jockey (ML 20-1)
# 10 War Beast (ML 20-1)
# 11 Proven Strategies (ML 30-1)

# 13 Fort Myers (ML 12-1)
# 14 Hit the Road (ML 10-1)
# 15 Deviant (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 5 Vitalogy (GB) (ML 10-1)

Arizona (Ire) certainly looks to be the most talented here by a substantial amount, and probably should be a single on the main ticket.  But I feel that there are a few question marks regarding Arizona (chief among them that he has never gone this distance before); and I'm not really going too deep in any of the other legs; so I decided to include the Mark Casse trained Peace Achieved on the main ticket with Arizona.

Peace Achieved enters this contest having won each of his last three races; and in each of those three victories Peace Achieved paid double digits to Win.  In fact, Peace Achieved has never left the gate at odds of less than 5-1; and that's extremely unlikely to change today.  So make Arizona the "A"; Peace Achieved the "B"; with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 7 - (F) The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (Grade 1) - Eight and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 6 Bast (ML 7-2)

B's

# 7 Wicked Whisper (ML 7-2)
# 9 Comical (ML 8-1)

C's

# 1 Donna Veloce (ML 3-1)
# 2 Two Sixty (ML 15-1)
# 3 Perfect Alibi (ML 10-1)
# 4 British Idiom (ML 7-2)
# 5 Lazy Daisy (ML 12-1)
# 8 K P Dreamin (ML 20-1)

Bast and Comical filled out the Exacta in the Grade 1 Chandelier over this main track at today's distance last time out.  Wicked Whisper, dominate in both of her two prior career starts, could be quickest here; but it's fair to wonder how Wicked Whisper will fare her first time around two turns.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - (F) The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Grade 1) - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 3 Shadn (Ire) (ML 10-1)

B's

# 1 Living In The Past (Ire) (ML 15-1)
# 5 Daahyeh (GB) (ML 5-1)
# 9 Albigna (Ire) (ML 9-2)
# 12 Sweet Melania (ML 5-1)

C's

# 2 Croughavouke (Ire) (ML 20-1)
# 4 Abscond (ML 15-1)
# 6 Unforgettable (Ire) (ML 20-1)
# 7 Crystalle (ML 8-1)
# 8 Tango (Ire) (ML 10-1)
# 10 Fair Maiden (ML 12-1)
# 11 Sharing (ML 12-1)
# 13 Selflessly (ML 8-1)
# 14 Etoile (ML 12-1)

Shadn (Ire) and Daahyeh (GB) look classiest here, and probably should be joint "A" Selections; but ultimately I landed on Shadn because I think Shadn will do better with the increase in real estate.

Living In The Past (Ire) can be forgiven that last outing.  Albigna (Ire) is a proven winner at today's distance.  Sweet Melania looks best among the North American breds, as the cutback in distance should give Sweet Melania the edge over Crystalle.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 9 - The Breeders' Cup Juvenile (Grade 1) - Eight and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 6 Eight Rings (ML 2-1)

B's

# 1 Dennis' Moment (ML 2-1)

C's

# 2 Wrecking Crew (ML 20-1)
# 3 Shoplifted (ML 20-1)
# 4 Storm the Court (ML 20-1)
# 5 Scabbard (ML 8-1)

# 7 Anneau d'Or (ML 15-1)
# 8 Full Flat (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 9 Maxfield (ML 3-1)

East Coast vs West Coast!  And in this contest, I'm going West Coast.  I think Eight Rings with a Win over this main track at today's distance holds the edge over Dennis' Moment; though there was absolutely nothing wrong with Dennis' Moment's work here last week.  Maybe this is another race where I should have gone with joint "A" Selections; but I think I've got this one right.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:
