1/25/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 6 All Hands On Deck (Final Odds 2.20*) - "B" Selection
Race 6 - # 10 Sperling (7.70) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - # 1A Speedy Solution (0.60*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 11 My Aunt Tillie (1.90*) - "C" Selection

Last time out, My Aunt Tillie finished sixth at this class level over this track at Saturday's distance, in back of a couple of today's opponents; specifically, over ten lengths behind # 3 New Appeal (7.80) and about five lengths behind # 10 B Deb's Fortune (5.10).  So major props to the wagering public, who, by making her the Post Time Favorite off her 5-1 Morning Line Odds, were able to sniff out that My Aunt Tillie would reverse that result to post her first victory (and only second in-the-money finish) since May 6, 2018 (nine starts ago).

Anyway, it made little difference to my play, as I was already out after the second leg.  While # 11 Screenwriter (14.50) ran well in defeat in the third leg, picking up the Place just a neck behind the winner, singling the entry proved to have been the correct way to go.  Still, even with the extra money to play with that singling would have provided, it's unlikely that I would have put either Sperling or My Aunt Tillie on the main ticket, let alone both.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  6 / 10 / 1 / 11  were rewarded with a payout of $236.00 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/25/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

Christmas Day was exactly one month ago; but for those who are dreaming of a white January 25, it looks like snow showers are in the forecast this evening in Florence, Kentucky.  So with that let's just get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - Clm $5k N3L - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 8 Spectacularxchange (Morning Line 8-1)

B’s

# 6 All Hands On Deck (ML 7-2)
# 7 Colombiano (ML 7-2)
# 9 Gray Donovan (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Cruz Diez (ML 6-1)
# 2 E Z Man Band (ML 15-1)
# 3 Senor Wilbur (ML 20-1)
# 4 Pleasant Sunrise (ML 30-1)
# 5 Valid Storm (ML 12-1)

# 10 Kielbasa (ML 20-1)
# 11 One Thirty Nine (ML 12-1)
# 12 Friend Zone (ML 20-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles, # 13 Nautical Legacy (ML 15-1) and # 14 Obtained (ML 5-1)

Spectacularxchange took the Place at this class level last time out, and Spectacularxchange could be the one running best late.  All Hands On Deck moves up a step on the class ladder after easily defeating N2L company last time out.  All Hands On Deck is another that could be mowing them down in the stretch.

Colombiano took the Show at this class level last time out.  Gray Donovan took the Place at this class level last time out; but a concern with Gray Donovan is that he may get caught up in the pace chase early and not have enough left for the drive.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 6 - (F) Clm $5k N2Y - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 3 Sour Peach (ML 6-1)

B’s

# 5 Abogada (ML 15-1)
# 7 Nook (ML 7-2)

C's

# 2 Air Turbulence (ML 3-1)
# 4 Sweet Rock (ML 30-1)
# 6 Secret Town (ML 8-1)
# 8 Jewelisa (ML 12-1)
# 9 Miss Frank E (ML 20-1)
# 10 Sperling (ML 6-1)
# 11 Prom Theme (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 1 Holy Cookie (ML 9-2)

The Past Performances that I have give this contest as an N2X; but the conditions, which state that this race is restricted to runners which have not won two races since January 25, 2019, make it clear  that this is actually an N2Y.  Note also that races where the runner was entered for $4k or less don't count; which why Nook, winner of two in just the past two months, is eligible to run here.

Sour Peach took the Show against open (non-restricted) claimers last time out over this track.  Abogada, shipping in from Mahoning Valley, appears to be in top form as she goes third off the layoff.  Abogada, while making her debut at Turfway Park, has run well in the past over the synthetic surface at Woodbine.

Nook won by as many as she wanted to in her first try over this track last time out, and Nook looks like the one that will be leading the field early.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - (F) ALW N2L - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A's

# 1 Enchanting Kitten / # 1A Speedy Solution (ML 7-5)

B's

# 11 Screenwriter (ML 6-1)

C's

# 2 Time Warp (ML 12-1)
# 3 Centerfold Angel (ML 30-1)

# 4 Macabre (ML 5-1)
# 5 C J S Suzie Byu (ML 30-1)
# 8 Loving Moment (ML 5-1)
# 9 Silent Surprise (ML 12-1)
# 10 She's Hot Today (ML 12-1)
# 12 Malibu Party (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 6 Genevieve's Z Va (ML 30-1) and # 7 Ascender (ML 20-1)

With the above scratches, it looks like Speed Solution, trained by Wesley Ward, will draw in off the Also Eligible List; thus joining Enchanting Kitten, trained by Mike Maker, in a two-for-one special, as both runners are owned by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey.  Both Enchanting Kitten and Speedy Solution look quite capable of winning here.

Screenwriter is returning after a nearly nine month absence, and shows zero public works; because, you know, Kentucky.  Be that as it may, Trainer Tom Drury tends to do well with those returning from an extended leave, and Screenwriter in best form can certainly contend at this class level.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of field.

RACE 8 - (F) Clm $5k N3L - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 10 B Deb's Fortune (ML 9-2)

B’s

# 2 Arian Rae (ML 3-1)
# 3 New Appeal (ML 5-1)
# 8 I Admire You (ML 10-1)

C's

# 4 Honor Bar (ML 30-1)
# 5 Miss Holiday (Arg) (ML 50-1)
# 6 Portrait of Emma (ML 10-1)
# 7 Royal Knightowl (ML 15-1)

# 9 E Z Bonus (ML 30-1)
# 11 My Aunt Tillie (ML 5-1)

# 12 My Lady Dowry (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 1 Boots n' Battle (ML 4-1), as well as the Also Eligibles; # 13 Lady Rubi (ML 30-1) and # 14 Promised Fame (ML 12-1)

B Deb's Fortune has finished in the Trifecta at this class level in each of her last two races.  Arian Rae could move up with the drop in class.  New Appeal took the Place at this class level two starts back.

I Admire You takes a step up the class ladder after winning an N2L by daylight over this track last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 8 with 3 with 1 with 10 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 6,7,8,9 with 3,5,7 with 1,11 with 2,3,8,10 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,2,3,4,5,10,11,12 with 3 with 1 with 10 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 8 with 2,4,6,8,9,10,11 with 1 with 10 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 8 with 3 with 2,3,4,5,8,9,10,12 with 10 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 8 with 3 with 1 with 4,5,6,7,9,11,12 $3.50

Total: $64.00

Post Time for Race 5 is 8:12 EST / 5:12 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/18/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 9 Aiken for Gold (Final Odds 29.10) - "C" Selection
Race 6 - # 6 Joey B (17.70) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - # 9 Sugarsugarsugar (5.00) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - # 8 At Guard (2.20*) - "A" Selection

As was seen last week, bringing home three "A's" with one "C" means that I collect.  However, bringing home three "C's" with one "A" means that I get to try again next week.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  9 / 6 / 9 / 8  were rewarded with a payout of $20,894.65 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/18/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

"We must accept finite disappointment, but must never lose infinite hope" - Martin Luther King, Jr.

The weather forecaster is predicting another rainy Saturday evening in Florence, KY; perhaps the wet stuff will prove lucky again this week.  So with that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - (F) Clm $5k N2L - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 Promised Fame (Morning Line 7-2)

B’s

# 6 La Dama (ML 4-1)
# 8 Hope and a Dream (ML 15-1)
# 11 Settle a Score (ML 10-1)

C's

# 2 Top Mission (ML 4-1)
# 3 Skip and a Hop (ML 8-1)
# 4 Princess Kiah (ML 8-1)
# 5 Nitassweetpea (ML 30-1)
# 7 Nosy Parker (ML 20-1)
# 9 Aiken for Gold (ML 15-1)
# 10 Silky Appeal (ML 10-1)
# 12 Magna Belle (ML 20-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles, # 1A Green Garnet (ML 7-2) and # 13 Social Circle (ML 3-1)

Promised Fame took the Place at this class level last time out, and Promised Fame's poor performance two starts back can be forgiven due to the filly having to be steadied in the stretch.  La Dama took the Show at this class level behind a next out winner last time out.

Hope and a Dream could be quickest here, while Settle a Score looks to be the one that will be running best late.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 6 - Clm $5k N2Y - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 5 Golden Gift (ML 5-2)

B’s

# 2 Sevenheartswarrior (ML 6-1)
# 11 Man of Blues (ML 6-1)

C's

# 1 Got the Notion (ML 15-1)
# 3 Double Deringer (ML 12-1)
# 4 True Truffle (ML 15-1)
# 6 Joey B (ML 20-1)
# 7 Not Chopped Liver (ML 8-1)
# 8 Faithful Neighbor (ML 12-1)

# 10 Laflowmylaxbro (ML 8-1)
# 12 Seeyalaterbye (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 9 Rio Seco (ML 5-1)

The Past Performances that I have give this contest as an N2X; but the conditions, which state that this race is restricted to runners which have not won two races since January 18, 2019, make it clear  that this is actually an N2Y.

Golden Gift took the Show against higher quality stock last time while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite.  On paper Golden Gift looks like he should be a big ticket single, based upon his 2019 results against classier competition.  But Golden Gift, an eleven year old gelding, is dropping significantly in price off a three month layoff; so it's fair to be concerned about the current form of Golden Gift.

Sevenheartswarrior looks to be the one that will be running best late; while Man of Blues could be quickest earlier.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - (F) OC 40k/N2X - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 7 Bizzee Mischief (ML 7-5)

B’s

# 1 Lady Madison (Ire) (ML 15-1)

C's

# 2 Miss O'Hara (ML 15-1)
# 3 Summer Delivery (ML 5-2)
# 4 Profound Legacy (ML 6-1)
# 6 Picante Caliente (ML 15-1)
# 8 Sky Diety (ML 30-1)
# 9 Sugarsugarsugar (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 5 Even Beat (ML 6-1)

Bizzee Mischief enters this contest with a five race winning streak, the last three coming over this track.  Lady Madison (Ire), making her North American debut, is the new shooter in this field; perhaps she can break Bizze Mischief's streak.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - Clm $5k N1Y - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 8 At Guard (ML 4-1)

B’s

# 1 Northern Ranger (ML 15-1)
# 2 Buster Brown Boy (ML 12-1)
# 6 Ferlin Husky (ML 6-1)

C's

# 4 C Js Billy Byu (ML 30-1)
# 5 Pourmeanotherone (ML 15-1)

# 7 Beach Hut (ML 15-1)
# 9 Richiesonarampage (ML 6-1)
# 10 Primed for Talent (ML 15-1)
# 11 Hardened (ML 8-1)
# 12 Henny Hefner (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 3 Finnegan (Ire) (ML 3-1); but don't bring in either of the Also Eligibles (# 13 Supreme Venture (ML 15-1) and # 14 Gifted Justice (ML 6-1)) as they are scratched as well.

It's a six month cutoff for victories; so as long as your runner hasn't won since July 18, 2019, you're good to go (races where the entrant ran with a price tag of $4k or less on their head don't count towards eligibility).

At Guard took the Show at this class level last time out.  At Guard has finished in the Trifecta six of the seven times that he has competed on the track.

Northern Ranger may have needed that last race, his first off a half-year layoff.  Buster Brown Boy is three-for-five lifetime over this track.  Ferlin Husky showed good early speed last time out against classier competition.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 1 with 5 with 7 with 8 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,6,8,11 with 2,5,11 with 1,7 with 1,2,6,8 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,4,5,7,9,10,12 with 5 with 7 with 8 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 1,3,4,6,7,8,10,12 with 7 with 8 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 5 with 2,3,4,6,8,9 with 8 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 1 with 5 with 7 with 4,5,7,9,10,11,12 $3.50

Total: $63.50

Post Time for Race 5 is 8:12 EST / 5:12 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/11/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 7 Miss Mosaic (Final Odds 1.80) - "A" Selection
Race 6 - # 2 Sacred Storm (1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 11 Ramsey Solution (0.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 2 Bay of Fables (9.20) - via DQ* - "C" Selection

* In Race 8, "A" Selection # 5 Liner (2.00) crossed under the wire first; but Liner was disqualified and placed 2nd.

Going four deep in both the second and third legs just to land on the Post Time Favorite in each contest is not what you would call good handicapping.  But having a non-Favorite "A" Selection win is always a good thing; and there's absolutely nothing wrong with a play that brings three Aces home.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other ten runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 1 Green Garnet (6.00) - $205.55 Finish: 7th
# 4 Matzo Bella (1.40*) - $45.90 Finish: 5th
# 5 Liner (2.00) - $56.20 Finish: 1st; DQ to 2nd
# 6 Tiz Stella (51.50) - $1,299.45 Finish: 6th
# 7 Sassy Zeeman (29.60) - $957.40 Finish: 10th
# 8 Here's to You (38.50) - $1.302.70 Finish: 11th
# 9 Kelly's Agenda (37.60) - $672.35 Finish: 4th
# 11 Temperance Road (13.40) - $348.45 Finish: 3rd
# 12 Templesis (23.70) - $591.60 Finish: 9th
# 13 She Got It (44.80) - $556.35 Finish: 8th

Had Liner not been disqualified, I would have collected $168.60 ($56.20 x 3) thanks to having all four "A" Selections win.

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  7 / 2 / 11 / 2  which paid $205.25 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $142.25 on my initial $63 investment; or approximate odds of 2.26-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/11/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

Looking at the weather forecast for Florence, KY Saturday evening, it appears that there is a definite possibility that the card could be cancelled, due to heavy rains along with strong winds.  And while a cancellation would make this my most profitable play of 2020 so far, let's hope that the weather is not so severe as to prevent the competition from taking place.  So with that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - (F) MSW - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 7 Miss Mosaic (Morning Line 3-1)

B's

# 2 Estill (ML 5-2)

C's

# 1 Million Tales (ML 4-1)
# 3 Lynda D (ML 20-1)
# 4 Lil Hitchhiker (ML 15-1)

# 5 Lune Rousse (ML 10-1)
# 6 Le Moine (ML 15-1)
# 8 Magic Finish (ML 12-1)
# 9 Complete (ML 8-1)

# 10 Kitten On Call (ML 8-1)

Miss Mosaic took the Place at this class level last time out, and Miss Mosaic could improve with a cleaner trip.  Estill missed graduation by just a head last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 6 - (F) Clm $8k - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 2 Sacred Storm (ML 3-1)

B’s

# 1 Shape of You (ML 10-1)
# 3 Magnetic Spot (ML 5-1)
# 9 Fort Marsh (ML 5-2)

C's

# 4 Grams Future (ML 8-1)
# 5 Mauk's Tuff (ML 8-1)
# 6 Go Stellaire (ML 8-1)
# 7 Dirt Road Princess (ML 10-1)
# 8 She's Got Friends (ML 12-1)

Sacred Storm, winner of each of her last two starts, ran well enough last time out to suggest that she can handle to move up the class ladder.  Shape of You is another that looks capable of handling a rise in class, having taken the Place last time out over this track against a next out winner.

Magnetic Spot, dropping down a couple of steps on the class ladder, tends to run well on the synthetic.  Fort Marsh disappointed as the Post Time Favorite against classier competition in each of her last two starts.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - ALW N2L - Eight and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A's

# 11 Ramsey Solution (ML 1-1)

B's

# 5 Ecru (ML 4-1)
# 10 El Ahijado (ML 4-1)
# 14 Bourbon Traffic (ML 10-1)

C's

# 1 Moon Launch (ML 15-1)
# 2 Cloud to Ground (ML 15-1)
# 3 Market Garden (ML 50-1)
# 4 Its Yes (ML 30-1)
# 9 Over Protective (ML 15-1)
# 12 Lo's Journey (ML 12-1)
# 13 Ammunition (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 6 Heza Handful (ML 20-1); # 7 Glorious Weekend (ML 30-1); and # 8 Shine On (ML 50-1)

Ramsey Solution graduated on the Churchill Downs turf last time out in his second career start by over a half dozen lengths.  Trainer Wesley Ward tends to do well when placing his last out maiden winners.

Ecru disappointed as the Post Time Favorite last time out, and could improve going third off the freshening.  El Ahijado took the Place at this class level last time out.  Bourbon Traffic ships in from Northern California after having graduated by daylight last time out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 8 - (F) Clm $5k N2L - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 5 Liner (ML 4-1)

B’s

# 1 Green Garnet (ML 10-1)
# 4 Matzo Bella (ML 9-5)

C's

# 2 Bay of Fables (ML 12-1)
# 6 Tiz Stella (ML 30-1)
# 7 Sassy Zeeman (ML 20-1)
# 8 Here's to You (ML 30-1)
# 9 Kelly's Agenda (ML 20-1)
# 11 Temperance Road (ML 12-1)
# 12 Templesis (ML 20-1)
# 13 She Got It (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 3 Kitty Zip (ML 4-1); # 10 Bivian B (ML 6-1); and # 14 Spoofy Doo (ML 30-1)

Liner took the Show against more expensive stock last time out.  Green Garnet seemed to wake up late in her last start; perhaps that's a sign that Green Garnet is sitting on a big one.

Matzo Bella, moving from the barn of Trainer Jason Servis to make her first start for Trainer Mike Maker, is taking a giant tumble down the class ladder; though it is a concern that Matzo Bello seems to settle for too many minor awards, having disappointed as the Post Time Favorite in four of her last seven starts.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 7 with 2 with 11 with 5 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,7 with 1,2,3,9 with 5,10,11,14 with 1,4,5 $48.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,3,4,5,6,8,9,10 with 2 with 11 with 5 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 7 with 4,5,6,7,8 with 11 with 5 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 7 with 2 with 1,2,3,4,9,12,13 with 5 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 7 with 2 with 11 with 2,6,7,8,9,11,12,13 $4.00

Total: $63.00

Post Time for Race 5 is 8:12 EST / 5:12 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/4/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 9 Muny Me Too (Final Odds 5.50) - "C" Selection
Race 6 - # 6 Larry's Baby (5.20) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 6 Tempestuous Amy (7.60) - "C" Selection
Race 8 - # 4 U S Marshal (2.60) - "A" Selection

Getting a non-Post Time Favorite "A" Selection home is always a positive; and having a ten dollar winner on the big ticket is also a good thing.  But watching your single settle for the Show is never a good thing; and if half the winners in the sequence are backup "C" Selections, then you know that it's your day to contribute and not collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  9 / 6 / 6 / 4  were rewarded with a payout of $818.10 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

1/4/20 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” - Albert Einstein

Welcome to the first post of the New Year, everybody!  And, yes, I made sure to check multiple times that I did put "20" in the date in today's title.  A quick heads up for those who swim in that pool that the Super Hi 5 in Saturday's nightcap (Race 8) has a carryover of $2,750, having gone un-hit Friday evening.  So with that let's get to it, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - Clm $5k N3L - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 8 Regal Look (ML 7-5)

B’s

None

C's

# 1 Fred's Country Boy (ML 15-1)
# 3 Spectacularxchange (ML 20-1)
# 5 J Dub (ML 15-1)
# 6 Taurus C (ML 15-1)
# 7 Kielbasa (ML 15-1)
# 9 Muny Me Too (ML 5-1)
# 10 Numbers Never Lie (ML 15-1)
# 11 Fetching Gold (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 2 Menace the Dennis (ML 15-1) and # 4 Haunted Mesa (ML 4-1)

I actually scratched into using Regal Look as a big ticket single, as I really liked the chances of Haunted Mesa here, being as Haunted Mesa's two career victories have come in only five lifetime starts; and that includes a Win in his debut at Arlington Park this past September (at Final Odds of 4-1; something for those of you who won't wager upon first time starters in Maiden Claiming races to consider).

Muny Me Too looks quickest here; so those of you squeamish about singling in this leg might wish to consider adding him to you main ticket.  But as for me, I'll just be going one deep here, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

RACE 6 - (F) Md $7.5k - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 Headline Kitten / # 1A Smarty Artie (ML 3-1)

B's

# 2 Bat Bat (ML 5-1)
# 4 Alexa G (ML 5-1)
# 6 Larry's Baby (ML 4-1)
# 8 Ticker (ML 15-1)
# 10 Thirst Trap (ML 12-1)

C's

# 3 Phone Bookin It (ML 30-1)
# 5 Melanie May (ML 30-1)
# 7 Cyclone Millie (ML 15-1)
# 9 Almighty War (ML 5-1)
# 11 West Virginia Pam (ML 8-1)

Smarty Artie, trained by Wesley Ward, took the Show at this class level over this track last time out; while the Michael Maker trained Headline Kitten is a first time starter who is being priced to sell.  Both runners are owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey; hence the coupling.

Bat Bat, Alexa G, Larry's Baby, and Ticker are all stepping down on the class ladder.  Thirst Trap took the Place at this class level last time out, albeit while going around two turns.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

This contest is restricted to runners which have either:

1) Not won three races since January 4, 2018; OR
2) Which have never won four races.

So as long as a runner has fewer than four career Wins, then he's eligible to run in this race.  If a runner has four career Wins or more, then no more than two of those Wins could have come in the last twenty-four months.  For the record Rollin Smoke, Warrior's March, Stay in Yo Lane, South Upper, and Gallant Cause are the five runners in this field with fewer than four career Wins.

U S Marshal wired the field last time out in his first try over this track.  Warrior's March could move up with the cutback in distance.

Kid Perfect could be the speed of the speed in this contest; and Kid Perfect is getting significant class relief here.  Stay in Yo Lane, owned and trained by Billy Morey, has won each of his last races and missed by just a neck three starts back of being ineligible to run here.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.
