12/28/19 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 10 Hail to the Chief (Final Odds 2.20*) - "A" Selection
Race 6 - # 4 Too Crowded (15.50) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - # 9 Torazo (1.80*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 14 Patsy J (3.80) - "C" Selection

Had I singled on the main ticket in the opening leg rather than the nightcap, I almost certainly would have moved nightcap winner Patsy J up from a "C" Selection to a "B" Selection.  But Too Crowded in the second stanza?  There's no way I'm finding Too Crowded without the "ALL" button; and with a field of twelve, the "ALL" button can be a mighty expensive proposition.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  10 / 4 / 9 / 14  were rewarded with a payout of $858.00 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/28/19 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their holiday earlier this week, as we now come upon the final Saturday card for 2019.  A bit of history to note, as it was on this day, December 28, in 2014 that Runhappy won his debut in Race 9 @ Turfway.  Finally a programming note: while I won't have a column here for New Year's Eve nor New Year's Day, for those who are playing either or both of those cards, please be aware that those races will be run during the afternoon hours, not at night, with a first race Post Time of 1:10 EST / 10:10 PST both days.  So with that let's get to it, as I take a run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - MSW - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 10 Hail to the Chief (Morning Line 3-1)

B's

# 1 Subliminalcriminal (ML 4-1)
# 5 Gold Account (ML 12-1)
# 9 Gold Endeavor (ML 7-2)
# 12 Katama Bay (ML 12-1)

C's

# 2 Major Silas (ML 15-1)
# 3 Machine Gunner (ML 30-1)
# 6 Mr. Axel (ML 20-1)
# 7 Have a Plan (ML 8-1)
# 8 Datza Five Oh (ML 30-1)
# 11 Bird in the Hat (ML 12-1)
# 13 Drakesboro Wildcat (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 4 Tradin Up (ML 6-1) and # 14 Peerless Brown (ML 12-1)

Hail to the Chief, trained by Wesley Ward, took the Show at this class level at Churchill Downs last time out.  Subliminalcriminal, trained by Kenny McPeek, took the Place at this class level two starts back.

Gold Account seems to have been working well for this, his debut.  Gold Endeavor took the Place at this class level two starts back and may improve with the blinkers coming back off.

Katama Bay, trained by Steve Asmussen, should improve off that last effort.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 6 - (F) Clm $5k N2L - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 9 Bivian B (ML 9-5)

B’s

# 7 Noble Destiny (ML 5-1)
# 10 Magna Belle (ML 15-1)

C's

# 1 On the Come (ML 30-1)
# 2 Fleetress (ML 10-1)
# 3 Treasure Wilburnya (ML 10-1)
# 4 Too Crowded (ML 8-1)
# 5 Nitassweetpea (ML 30-1)
# 6 Jr's Joy (ML 20-1)
# 8 Passionate Star (ML 8-1)
# 11 Green Garnet (ML 5-1)
# 12 Nosy Parker (ML 15-1)

Scratch the Also Eligibles, # 13 Templesis (ML 5-1) and # 14 Kitty Zip (ML 5-2)

Note that this race is being run in two divisions, as Race 8 has the identical conditions.

Bivian B has run well in the past over this track, and Bivian B appears to be in good form, having taken the Show in each of his last two starts against more expensive stock.  Noble Destiny and Magna Belle look to be the ones running best late.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 7 - OC 25k/N1X - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 8 Eagle Pass (ML 12-1)

B’s

# 2 Franknjymme (ML 4-1)
# 5 Ucanthankmelater (ML 8-1)
# 7 Times Square (ML 12-1)
# 9 Torazo (ML 7-2)
# 10 Animus (ML 9-2)

C's

# 1 Fine Tune (ML 15-1)
# 3 Ransack (ML 30-1)
# 4 Untraceable (ML 5-1)
# 11 Uncle Mitcho (ML 30-1)
# 12 Machtree (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 6 California Swing (ML 12-1) as well as the Also Eligibles, # 13 United Stand (ML 20-1), and # 14 Cloud to Ground (ML 20-1)

Eagle Pass, very popular at the claim box of late, showed little while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite last time out at Churchill Downs, and should improve off that effort.  Franknjymme ran well in his one prior try over this main track, and Franknjymme fits well here on class.

Ucanthankmelater could move up with the cutback in distance.  Times Square graduated last time going twelve furlongs over this track.  Times Square also ran well in his only other try over this track, at least until he decided to toss his mount.

Torazo won at this class level over the turf at Indianapolis last time out.  Animus gets the blinkers put back on, a move with which Trainer Tommy Drury has done well of late.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 8 - (F) Clm $5k N2L - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 9 Aspens Little Zip (ML 7-5)

B’s

None

C's

# 1 She Got It (ML 15-1)
# 2 Rubys Memory (ML 10-1)
# 3 Flash n' Dance (ML 3-1)
# 4 La Dama (ML 10-1)
# 5 Sheza Fast (ML 50-1)

# 6 Hope and a Dream (ML 5-1)
# 7 Bank Numbers (ML 50-1)
# 8 Don't Dally (ML 30-1)
# 11 Spoofy Doo (ML 30-1)

# 12 My Temple (ML 8-1)
# 14 Patsy J (ML 3-1)

Scratch # 10 Alberta Maximus (ML 50-1) and # 13 Fancy M (ML 30-1)

Note that this race is being run in two divisions, as Race 6 has the identical conditions.

Aspens Little Zip took the Place over this track while disappointing as the Post Time Favorite against more expensive stock last time out.

If you're a little squeamish about singling in the nightcap, then She's Got It, who took the Place at this class level at Belterra Park (nee River Downs) last time out could be live at a price.  Another to consider is Patsy J, who draws in off the Also Eligible list, and should benefit from the class drop.  But I decided to go one deep in this leg, with all others being used as backup "C" Selections.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 10 with 9 with 8 with 9 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 1,5,9,10,12 with 7,9,10 with 2,5,7,8,9,10 with 9 $45.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 2,3,6,7,8,11,13 with 9 with 8 with 9 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 10 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,11,12 with 8 with 9 $4.50
$0.50 P4: 10 with 9 with 1,3,4,11,12 with 9 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 10 with 9 with 8 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,11,12,14 $5.50

Total: $62.00

Post Time for Race 5 is 8:12 EST / 5:12 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Merry Christmas!

"Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves." - Eric Sevareid

Here's hoping that Santa brought you plenty of sure things that you'll be cashing throughout the New Year.  Merry Christmas!

12/21/19 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 11 Seventy Seventycat (Final Odds 7.10) - "C" Selection
Race 6 - # 8 Flirty (2.90) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 6 Mojo Man (1.70*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 1 Tarnish (7.50) - "C" Selection

A bit of a mixed bag Saturday; an "A", a "B", and a couple of "C's".  Positives are that I caught a non-Post Time Favorite as a top pick; and the fact that the two that weren't on the main ticket both left the gate at greater than 7-1 means that I didn't miss anything obvious.  Still, mistakes were made; hopefully mistakes that won't be repeated in the future.  But for now, let's just say that I needed one over the track, as Saturday was a day for me to contribute instead of collect.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  11 / 8 / 6 / 1  were rewarded with a payout of $721.30 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/21/19 Turfway Park Late Pick Four - Preview

"When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed." - Maya Angelou

Season's Greetings, one and all!  Hopefully this holiday season finds you all well, full of comfort and joy.  My current plan is to spend the coming cold Winter months playing the ponies at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky; which, for those of you who may not know, is now owned Churchill Downs Inc, having been purchased from Hard Rock International, who back in April had bought the joint from JACK Entertainment; thus giving the racetrack three owners in one calendar year.

Some basics: The track at Turfway Park is synthetic (Tapeta, to be exact) and the maximum distance for a one turn race is six and a half furlongs.  There is no turf course.  Maiden Special Weights have a purse of $46k.  Takeout on the Single 6 and the 50-cent Pick 5 is 15%; takeout on the 50-cent Pick 4 is 14%.  So with all that let's get to it, as I take a run at The Late Pick Four at Turfway Park.

RACE 5 - Clm $7.5k N2L - Eight and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 10 Lucky Lookin (Morning Line 12-1)

B’s

# 2 Icy Street (ML 5-1)
# 12 Lil Pistola (ML 10-1)

C's

# 1 Due Time (ML 20-1)
# 3 Run This Town (ML 10-1)
# 4 It's Game Time (ML 15-1)

# 5 Mr. Sarcastic (ML 8-1)
# 6 Cape Crush (ML 12-1)
# 7 Darkness Beauty (ML 8-1)

# 8 Sunday Scaries (ML 3-1)
# 9 Sergeant McNerney (ML 12-1)
# 11 Seventy Seventycat (ML 5-1)

Scratch # 1A Candy Kingdom (ML 20-1)

Lucky Lookin goes first off the claim for Trainer Ron Brown, who tends to do well with such.  Icy Street wanted no part of the dirt track at Churchill Downs last time out; but perhaps Icy Street's turf form will carry over to the Tapeta.  If nothing else, the class relief that Icy Street is getting here makes him one to consider.

Lil Pistola is one-for-fifty-eight lifetime; generally not a record that garners a spot on the main ticket.  But Lil Pistola just missed by half a length last time of two-for-fifty-eight lifetime; and that last time out was over this track, Lil Pistola's first ever race over a synthetic surface.  So maybe Tapeta is what Lil Pistola has been waiting for his whole career.  Then again, maybe not; but if the 10-1 Morning Line holds true, it's certainly a price which makes it worth finding out.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 6 - (F) Clm $12.5k - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 8 Flirty (ML 7-2)

B’s

# 1 Lady Leah (ML 5-2)
# 5 Sour Peach (ML 15-1)

C's

# 2 Cook Memories (ML 8-1)
# 3 Grams Future (ML 15-1)
# 4 Majestic Bold (ML 5-1)
# 6 Patti Patti Patti (ML 6-1)
# 9 Tempestuous Amy (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 7 Secret Trick (ML 6-1)

Flirty could move up with the drop in class.  Lady Leah could move up moving from dirt to synthetic.  Sour Peach has finished in the Trifecta eight times in her ten attempts over this racetrack.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 7 - ALW N3L - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A's

# 4 Hide the Demon (ML 8-1)

B's

# 6 Mojo Man (ML 3-1)
# 8 Infinite (ML 3-1)
# 10 Stay Happy (ML 7-2)

C's

# 1A Augie (ML 15-1)
# 2 Extra Medium (ML 12-1)
# 3 Giant Honor (ML 15-1)
# 7 Majestic Valley (ML 20-1)

# 9 Frosted Ice (ML 10-1)
# 11 Two Bit Kid (ML 20-1)

Scratch # 1 Never Even Called (ML 15-1) and # 5 Jimmy Joe (ML 20-1)

Hide the Demon has run well in the past on synthetic surfaces, and Hide the Demon is getting significant class relief here.  Mojo Man is another class dropper that has run well previously on the synthetic.

Infinite and Stay Happy are two lightly raced runners moving up in class with trainers whose chargers always merit consideration (Wesley Ward and Tom Drury, respectively).  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 8 - (F) Md $7.5k - Six and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 13 My Discreet Secret (ML 10-1)

B's

# 2 Happy Peddler (ML 5-1)
# 8 Smarty Artie (ML 7-2)
# 10 Teton Thai (ML 4-1)

C's

# 1 Tarnish (ML 8-1)
# 3 Miss Jaba (ML 12-1)
# 4 Rathrbluckythngood (ML 4-1)
# 5 Saint Gloria (ML 20-1)
# 6 West Virginia Pam (ML 20-1)
# 7 Sweaty Betty (ML 20-1)
# 9 Gold Ladybug (ML 10-1)

# 12 Cyclone Millie (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 11 Mysterious Lew (ML 20-1) and # 14 Devils Daughter (ML 12-1)

These are juveniles; and none of the ten experienced runners in this field of twelve has ever finished in the Trifecta.  So for that reason I made my top pick here My Discreet Secret, as she looks to be the better of the two debut runners (Miss Jaba being the other).

Happy Peddler showed good early speed against more expensive stock in each of her two prior starts.  Rathrbluckythngood ran the best race of her five start career in her only prior try on a synthetic surface (Arlington Park).

Smarty Artie is making her second career start after showing nothing in her debut at Woodbine.  But Smarty Artie is trained by Wesley Ward, who tends to do well with second time runners.  In addition Smarty Artie is taking the blinkers off, another move with which Ward tends to succeed.  Finally, that initial contest turned out to be a key race, with the two Exacta finishers (Juxtapose and Onezy's Dream) coming back to win next time out.  Add it all up, and Smarty Artie probably still shouldn't be on the main ticket; especially when you consider that she will most likely be over bet.  But Smarty Artie ticks off a lot of boxes in a field where most runners don't tick any; so onto the big ticket she goes.

Teton Thai ran very well on the grass last time out; perhaps that form will carry over to the synthetic.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 10 with 8 with 4 with 13 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 2,10,12 with 1,5,8 with 4,6,8,10 with 2,8,10,13 $72.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11 with 8 with 4 with 13 $4.50
$0.50 P4: 10 with 2,3,4,6,9 with 4 with 13 $2.50
$0.50 P4: 10 with 8 with 1,2,3,7,9,11 with 13 $3.00
$0.50 P4: 10 with 8 with 4 with 1,3,4,5,6,7,9,12 $4.00

Total: $87.00

Post Time for Race 5 is 8:12 EST / 5:12 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/15/19 Remington Park All-Stakes Pick Four - Results

Race 10 - The Useeit - # 3 Lady Orchid (Final Odds 1.10*) - "A" Selection
Race 11 - The Jim Thorpe - # 11 Cowboy Mischief (5.00) - "C" Selection
Race 12 - The Springboard Mile - # 9 Shoplifted (4.30) - "B" Selection
Race 13 - The Jeffrey A Hawk Memorial - # 9 Sleepy Eyes Todd (2.70) - "A" Selection

# 4 Answer In (0.60*), my "A" Selection in the Springboard Mile, was a head too slow in getting under the wire in the third leg of the sequence.  Which is unfortunate; for had the juvenile by 2011 Florida Derby winner Dialed In gotten to the line in time, Sunday would have been a day for me to collect, instead of contribute.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct All-Stakes Pick Four sequence of  3 / 11 / 9 / 9  were rewarded with a payout of $184.10 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/15/19 Remington Park All-Stakes Pick Four - Preview

You never know what you’re going to get, and children have their own personalities immediately. I was watching little kids on a carousel, some kids were jumping on the horses, some kids were afraid of the horses, and some kids were betting on the horses. - Rita Rudner

And so we come to the final day of the 2019 Remington Park meet, and the good people in Oklahoma City have put together an incredible card featuring a half dozen stakes, all grouped together as the final six contests on the program, primary among them being the $400k Springboard Mile for juveniles.  I'll be taking a look at that contest below, as I take a run at The All-Stakes Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 10 - (F) [S] The Useeit $70k - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Lady Orchid (Morning Line 6-5)

B's

# 4 Country Daisy (ML 4-1)
# 9 Alternative Slew (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Our Musical Moment (ML 15-1)
# 2 Shobiz Superstar (ML 50-1)
# 5 She's Shiney (ML 8-1)
# 6 Stormieis Blue (ML 20-1)
# 7 Dicey (ML 15-1)
# 8 Runaround Rosey (ML 30-1)

# 10 Eutychia (ML 30-1)
# 12 Miss Orienta (ML 30-1)

Scratch # 11 Northern Dynasty (ML 30-1)

Lady Orchid disappointed as the Post Time Favorite last time out in her first try at going beyond seven furlongs; perhaps the shortened distance will help today.  Country Daisy will be routing for the first time Sunday; Trainer Ray Ashford Jr tends to do well with such.

Alternative Slew has finished in the Trifecta in each of her last eight starts, which represents the totality of her career excepting her debut.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 11 - [S] The Jim Thorpe $70k - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Gospel Musketeer (ML 15-1)

B's

# 5 Fast Breakin' Cash (ML 9-5)
# 8 D Toz (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Sedaris (ML 20-1)
# 2 Last I Knew (ML 20-1)

# 3 Dance to My Song (ML 9-2)
# 6 Dobbins G (ML 5-1)
# 7 Eurowest (ML 30-1)

# 9 Fearless Weill (ML 20-1)
# 10 Dak Da Man (ML 15-1)

# 11 Cowboy Mischief (ML 12-1)
# 12 Kwik (ML 50-1)

Gospel Musketeer has shown steady improvement in each of his four career starts, and has yet to finish out of the Trifecta.  Fast Breakin' Cash could romp if he can handle the distance; though it's fair to wonder if this grandson of Forestry will handle the distance.  D Toz looks to be forwardly placed early.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 12 - The Springboard Mile $400k - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Answer In (ML 5-2)

B's

# 3 Rowdy Yates (ML 7-2)
# 8 Embolden (ML 9-2)
# 9 Shoplifted (ML 5-1)

C's

# 2 Alternate Time (ML 20-1)
# 5 Jungle Runner (ML 15-1)
# 6 Shipman's Song (ML 30-1)

# 7 Southgate (ML 30-1)
# 10 Maximiliano (ML 5-1)
# 11 Kirkcules (ML 30-1)
# 12 Slew Tang Clan (ML 50-1)

Scratch # 1 Piece of Work (ML 12-1)

Answer In, trained by Brad Cox, graduated last time out by over five lengths versus a next out winner at Churchill Downs.  Rowdy Yates is Graded Stakes Placed, and enters this contest with a two race winning streak, both in state bred stakes over this main track.

Embolden took the Show in the Grade 3 Futurity at Belmont Park two starts back.  Shoplifted took the Place in the Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga back in September.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 13 - The Jeffrey A. Hawk Memorial $100k - Eight and a Third Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 9 Sleepy Eyes Todd (ML 7-2)

B's

# 3 Timeline (ML 15-1)
# 11 Popularity (ML 3-1)
# 12 Shotgun Kowboy (ML 5-2)

C's

# 1 United Patriot (ML 20-1)
# 2 Net Gain (ML 20-1)
# 4 Pinson (ML 15-1)
# 5 Lookin At lee (ML 15-1)

# 6 D' Rapper (ML 15-1)
# 7 Catdaddy (ML 20-1)
# 10 Chris and Dave (ML 6-1)

Scratch # 8 Quality Rocket (ML 30-1)

Sleepy Eyes Todd took the Place in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby last time out; and Sleepy Eyes Todd could move up with the reduction in real estate.  Timeline is making his third start of 2019; and if Timeline can return to the form that he showed in 2018, then he can win here.

Popularity took the Place in the $175k Governor's Cup the last time that he competed over this main track.  Shotgun Kowboy, four time winner of the Oklahoma Classics Cup, is the local hero, as he attempts to top one million dollars in earnings at Remington Park.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing my tickets in modified Crist fashion, I get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 3 with 4 with 4 with 9 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 3,4,9 with 4,5,8 with 3,4,8,9 with 3,9,11,12 $72.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 1,2,5,6,7,8,10,12 with 4 with 4 with 9 $4.00
$0.50 P4: 3 with 1,2,3,6,7,9,10,11,12 with 4 with 9 $4.50
$0.50 P4: 3 with 4 with 2,5,6,7,10,11,12 with 9 $3.50
$0.50 P4: 3 with 4 with 4 with 1,2,4,5,6,7,10 $3.50

Total: $88.50

Post Time for Race 10 is 8:21 EST / 5:21 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/7/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 4 Holt County (Final Odds 1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 6 - # 3 A J's Grand (1.10*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 9 Flat Out Phat (0.50*) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 9 Franki D Oro (2.80) - "B" Selection

When the sequence shows three Post Time Favorites and one second choice on the tote board, you know that it's not going to pay much.  So it was deja vu all over again at Remington Park, as I collect, but not enough.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 1 Natalie’s Toccet (2.80) - $23.75 Finish: 3rd
# 3 Fox Alert (2.50*) - $21.65 Finish: 2nd
# 8 Tayla (6.80) - $48.40 Finish: 9th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Primetime Pick Four sequence of  4 / 3 / 9 / 9  which paid $26.80 for a fifty cent wager; less than half my initial investment of $58.50.  And while cashing at a loss definitely beats not cashing at all, it's certainly not what I had in mind when I placed my bets.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo

12/7/19 Remington Park Primetime Pick Four - Preview

A programming note: next Sunday, December 15, in addition to being closing day for the 2019 meet, is Springboard Mile Day at Remington Park.  Good Lord willing, that will be the card that I will be playing next weekend.  So there will be no new post on this site next Saturday, December 14; but hopefully there will be a Pick Four play here on Sunday, December 15.  So, with that out of the way, let's get to it, as I take another run at The Primetime Pick Four at Remington Park.

RACE 5 - Clm $20k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 4 Holt County (Morning Line 5-1)

B’s

# 3 Galactica (ML 3-1)

C's

# 1 Texas Long Bow (ML 15-1)
# 2 Aboout Our Time (ML 7-2)
# 5 Rise Up (ML 20-1)
# 7 Imma Wild Bling (ML 8-1)

Scratch # 6 Eurobond (ML 8-5)

As per usual, Oklahoma breds cost more; $5k more, to be exact.  But with the scratch of Eurobond, there are no Oklahoma breds in the field; so all runners are for sale for $20k.

Holt County could be quickest here.  Holt County also does quite well at today's distance, with five Wins in eight tries, as well as two Place finishes.

Galactica missed victory by just a neck at this class level last time out, albeit over an off track.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 6 - (F) Clm $5k - Eight Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 A J's Grand (ML 7-5)

B’s

# 1 Desert Madam (ML 15-1)
# 4 Eye On Harper (ML 6-1)
# 6 Miss Wekati (ML 2-1)

C's

# 2 Starship Impulse (ML 6-1)
# 5 River Deputy (ML 12-1)
# 7 Toskiko (ML 30-1)

As per usual, Oklahoma breds are more expensive; so if you want to claim River Deputy or Toskiko, it'll cost you an extra $1.25k.

A J's Grand goes first off the claim for Trainer Steve Asmussen.  Desert Madam could improve with the cutback in distance.  Eye On Harper fits well with the contenders.

Miss Wekati, making her first start outside the state of Louisiana, could move up with the drop in class.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

RACE 7 - (F) [S] Md $20k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 8 Tomey's Lexus (ML 9-5)

B's

# 3 First After Klaria (ML 20-1)
# 9 Flat Out Phat (ML 8-5)

C's

# 1 Seeing Double (ML 8-1)
# 2 Real Rhythm (ML 15-1)

# 4 Oneida Won (ML 10-1)
# 5 River Liberty (ML 15-1)

# 6 Dede's Trick (ML 12-1)
# 7 River Wild (ML 20-1)

For those who note such things, connections had the option to shed three pounds off their juvenile filly's back in exchange for running for $15k instead of $20k.  None in this field chose that option.

Tomey's Lexus took the Place at this class level last time out; albeit a well beaten Place.  First After Klaria is a debut runner who hasn't shown much in the morning; but, then again, she's not facing much in this field, so why not.  Flat Out Phat is running for the first time with a price tag on her head.  The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

RACE 8 - (F) Clm $7.5k N2L - Six and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 8 Tayla (ML 8-1)

B’s

# 1 Natalie's Toccet (ML 7-2)
# 3 Fox Alert (ML 5-2)
# 9 Franki D Oro (ML 3-1)

C's

# 2 Communicado (ML 20-1)
# 5 Rose Larue (ML 5-1)
# 6 Louisiana Lily (ML 30-1)
# 7 All the Juice (ML 12-1)
# 10 Temple Tower  (ML 15-1)
# 11 Kiss Me Lily (ML 50-1)

Scratch # 4 I'm a Okie Lady (ML 20-1)

As you've come to expect, Oklahoma breds have a surcharge at the claiming box; so if you want to purchase Natalie's Toccet or Kiss Me Lily, it'll cost you and extra $2.5k.

Tayla took the Place at this class level last time out.  Natalie's Toccet gets her fifth rail draw in her seven most recent starts; too bad she's not quicker.  Anyway, Natalie'd Toccet looks to be the one running best late, provided she doesn't get stuck in traffic.

Fox Alert is in for a tag for the first time in her career.  Franki D Oro is getting some much needed class relief.  The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.
