Free Brisnet Past Performances

Since many ADW's now offer free past performances to their customers, I'm sure the following will be of little use to many of you.  However, I wanted to be sure that all readers were aware that free Brisnet Past Performances for many thoroughbred races are available online.  There are certain owners, trainers, and farms that make Brisnet Past Performances available for any race in which they either have an entry, or there is an entry that was sired by one of their stallions.  So, for example, if you were to click the link for Doug O'Neill below, you would be taken to a page from where you can download free Brisnet Past Performances for any race containing an entrant trained by O'Neill.

I should mention here, in terms of full disclosure, that I personally primarily use Past Performances from the Daily Racing Form.  However, I have on occasion used Brisnet Past Performances, and my own personal opinion is that they are in no way inferior to those offered by DRF.  The Brisnet PP's do not contain Beyer Speed Figures, as those are proprietary to DRF; however, Brisnet does calculate their own speed figures, which are probably as good as Beyer's.  Likewise with breeding: Tomlinson Ratings are proprietary to DRF, while Brisnet offers their own ratings for turf, etc. to guide you in your selections.  A full explanation of how Brisnet PP's work is available here.

For those who have not used them before, I would suggest giving the Brisnet PP's a try to see if they're suitable to your handicapping methods.  It's possible that you may find that they work well for you on their own, or perhaps even in conjuncture with the Daily Racing Form's version.  Finally, if you wish to purchase Brisnet Past Performances you can do so by going to the Brisnet.com home page and clicking the "PPS" button (which should take you to this page).
