Their last time out, in the Grade 1 Travers, Mucho Gusto was able to get to the line a length and a half in front of Owendale; which is why I gave preference to the Bob Baffert trained # 10 Mucho Gusto (0.90*) in Sunday's Oklahoma Derby. But on a night in which the combo of Trainer Steve Asmussen and Jockey Ricardo Santana Jr were seemingly winning everything that wasn't nailed down, the featured race went to the Brad Cox trained Owendale, with rider Florent Geroux on board; and had I made Owendale my top pick instead of second choice in the Oklahoma Derby, I would have collected Sunday instead of contributing.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct All-Stakes Pick Four sequence of 9 / 10 / 11 / 3 were rewarded with a payout of $578.35 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
