5/14/16 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

Race 8 - # 1 The Lieutenant (Final Odds 4.40) - No Selection
Race 9 - # 10 Glacken Too (1.60*) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - # 8 Diamond Cut (3.20) - "B" Selection
Race 11 - # 8 Vida Bonita (1.40*) - "A" Selection

I noted in the preview that I thought # 7 One More Round (3.10), coming off a Place finish in the Grade 3 Lexington, would garner a lot of action in the Race 8 Win Pool, now that he was back competing against fellow maidens.  As it turned out, the public shied away from One More Round; and rightly so, as he could do no better than second today, crossing the wire a length and a quarter behind the winner.

And that was quite unfortunate for us, as the late scratches of # 11 Fueled by Bourbon in Race 9 and # 5 Plus Perfect in Race 11 meant that, had One More Round won his stretch duel with The Lieutenant in the opening leg, we would have had the winning combination four times on our big ticket.

But such was not to be.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of  1 / 10 / 8 / 8  were rewarded with a payout of $51.40 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
