Not a great day of handicapping on our part. We used four runners in the opening leg and another five in the finale just to land on the Post Time Favorite in each. Even worse, we totally whiffed on the Race 7 winner, Anthonysgotgame, an entrant that should have been right in our wheelhouse; as Anthonysgotgame had finished in the Trifecta in each of his last two races, both at today's class level or higher, and was switching riders to a jockey with a higher winning percentage. Our one minor consolation on the day is that the five runners that we used in the finale all made it into the Super High Five. Not that that matters a whit to our bankroll, but sometimes you just need to grab onto whatever small straw that you can grasp.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 5 / 6 / 8 / 3 were rewarded with a payout of $194.10 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
