# 1 Silk in Silver (0.70*) was game in the opening leg, grabbing the early lead and then fighting on through the stretch, but she just could not keep pace with Sheeza Eyeopener in the final strides, losing to that one by a length and three quarters. And that was the difference for us between cashing and not cashing, as a Win by Silk in Silver would have given us a ticket with three Aces and a "C", which would have been good enough to cash.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Incidentally, if you didn't get to see it live, and even if you did, be sure to check out the reply of My Fiona winning The Soviet Problem Stakes. Just an incredibly gutsy effort on her part, refusing to lose to # 1 Heat the Rocks (2.70) even after being passed by that one in the stretch.
