9/7/15 Del Mar Pick Four - Results

Race 7 - # 5 Do the Dance (Final Odds 13.70) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Del Mar Futurity - # 5 Nyquist (0.50*) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - The Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf - # 3 Jakaby Jade (GB) (7.40) - "C" Selection
Race 10 - # 10 Unforgettable U (1.10*) - "A" Selection

And that's why you play back-up tickets.

Of course, a little better handicapping could have spared us from having to rely on one of our "A's" coming through in the finale.  Do the Dance was such a likelihood to be loose on the lead in the opener that we could have spread a little less wide in that contest; and a little more faith in the success Trainer Doug O'Neill has been having on the big days this meet would have elevated Jakaby Jade (GB) from a "C" Selection to at least a "B" on our tickets.  But despite those errors we cash; and that's just fine by me.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other runners to which we were alive in the finale:

# 1 Glory (3.20) - $405.00 Finish: 4th
# 4 Josephine's Moment (11.40) - $1,286.95 Finish: 8th

But that's what might have been.  The actual winning Pick Four sequence of  5 / 5 / 3 / 10  paid $325.45 for a fifty cent wager, making for approximate odds of 3-1 on our $81 investment.  Which, again, is just fine by me.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
