5/31/15 Santa Anita Pick Five - Results

Race 1 - # 3 Jazzy Josh (Final Odds 1.80*) - "A" Selection
Race 2 - # 4 Gold Journey (0.60*) - "A" Selection
Race 3 - The Silent Lure - # 2 Oliver's Tale (1.50*) - "A" Selection
Race 4 - # 2 Mrazek (1.50*) - "B" Selection
Race 5 - # 1 City Chapel (1.70*) - "B" Selection

It doesn't get much chalkier than what you see above, as the Post Time Favorite crossed the wire first in each of the five legs.  Needless to say, such results aren't conducive to high payouts; but you'll hear no complaints from these quarters.  

For the record, here are the fifty cent Will Pays for the other three runners to which we were alive in Race 5:

# 3 No Contingency (2.20) - $130.40 Finish: 3rd
# 5 Traweek (8.40) - $284.05 Finish: 7th
# 8 Relentless Heat (3.40) - $152.55 Finish: 2nd

But that's what might have been.  The actual winning Pick Five sequence of  3 / 4 / 2 / 2 / 1  paid $73.40 for a fifty cent wager.  Which, as already mentioned, ain't much, as we collect on our initial wager at approximate odds of 1-4.  Still, we collect more than we wagered, which is the very definition of success in this sport; and cashing tickets beats trashing tickets eight ways to Sunday.
