2/11/16 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

Race 5 - # 6 Tale of Papa Nick (Final Odds 7.70) - "A" Selection
Race 6 - # 4 Enchanting Lady (1.10*) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 4 Nite Delite (4.50) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 2 Luckbox Sam (1.40*) - "A" Selection

When handicapping the second leg of the sequence, I thought that # 2 Finest City (1.30) would be the quickest out of the gate, and that would give her the edge over the rest of field; for that reason, I made Finest City an "A" Selection in that contest.  But Finest City was more than a length off the pace after the opening quarter, and kept backing away from the winner as the race wore on.  Had I properly projected the pace scenario I might have made Enchanting Lady an "A" Selection in that contest, thus giving us the winning combination three times instead of just once.

But all the above is said to report, not complain; as we are always happy whenever we cash at a profit.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other runners to which we were alive in the finale:

# 1 El Nino Terrible (5.00) - $271.35 Finish: 5th
# 4 Celebrity Status (4.50) - $308.95 Finish: 2nd
# 7 Formally Wild (3.50) - $297.55 Finish: 6th
# 8 Saint Dermot (7.00) - $505.45 Finish: 4th

But that's what might have been.  The actual winning Pick Four sequence of 6 / 4 / 4 / 2  paid $180.65 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $118.65 on our $62.00 investment, or approximate odds of 1.91-1.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
