Race 7 - # 10 Tough Sunday (1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Los Alamitos Derby - # 7 Accelerate (0.90*) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - # 3 Money Makin Mike (2.50*) - "B" Selection
Needless to say, when you see that asterisk denoting the Post Time Favorite following the Final Odds of all four winners, you know the payout isn't going to amount to much.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other four runners to which we were alive in the finale:
# 1 Cavalry (8.80) - $91.30 Finish: 6th
# 2 Regal Reign (12.00) - $169.80 Finish: 9th
# 5 He’s a Knockout (3.80) - $42.40 Finish: 5th
# 7 Star Express (2.60) - $39.40 Finish: 7th
And, of course, had He's a Knockout, our "A" Selection, crossed the wire first, we would have collected three times the above payout.
But that's what might have been. What actually came to be was a correct Pick Four sequence of 7 / 10 / 7 / 3 which paid $42.10 for a fifty cent wager. Since our investment was $63.00, we cash at a loss; and while that definitely beats not cashing at all, it certainly wasn’t what we had in mind when we placed our wagers.
Oh well; onto the next race.
