2/26/17 Golden Gate Fields Late Pick Four - Preview

The Golden Pick Six being hit for the second Saturday in a row yesterday makes for a nice excuse for us to again ease off the throttle a bit and give the jackpot a chance to grow.  So let's cut two from view and focus just on the final four events on the card today, as we take a run at The Late Pick Four at the place where the Bay comes to play.

RACE 6 - Clm $16k - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Incline Village (Morning Line 2-1)

B’s

# 6 He's a Tiger (ML 9-2)
# 7 Midnight Bolt (ML 3-1)

C's

# 3 Oneandonlyloveman (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 2 Private Joke (ML 8-1)

Incline Village was within a length of the winner last time out against more expensive stock.  He's a Tiger just missed the Winner's Circle two starts back when facing classier competition.  Midnight Bolt, going third time off the layoff, drops in class after showing good early speed in each of his last two starts.  Oneandonlyloveman was victorious the last time that he competed at this class level.

RACE 7 - Clm $8k B - Five and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Royal Alexei (ML 5-2)

B's

# 8 Nahem (ML 5-1)

C's

# 1 Kronwall (ML 10-1)
# 2 A Toast to You (ML 9-2)
# 6 Pete's Slew (ML 6-1)

This contest is restricted to runners which have either:

1) Not won a race since December 1, 2016; OR
2) Which have never won four races.

Excepting claiming and starter races for $6.25k or less; they don't count.

So as long as a horse has fewer than four career Wins, he's eligible to run in this race.  If a horse has four career Wins or more, than none of those Wins could have been since 12/1/2016 in order for the horse to be entered here.

Royal Alexei has finished in the Trifecta at this class level in each of his last three starts.  Nahem is cutting back from two turn racing; Trainer Bill McLean tends to do well with such.

Kronwall goes first off the claim for Trainer Bill Delia, who tends to do well with such.  A Toast to You has finished just behind Royal Alexei in each of his last two starts; perhaps today he can turn the tables.  Pete's Slew defeated cheaper last time out and could be ready to take another step forward.

RACE 8 - (F) OC 32k/N1X - Eight and a Half Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 6 Flying Tee (ML 5-2)

B’s

# 1 Tiz a Tommy Town (ML 4-1)
# 3 Close the Show Lo (ML 5-1)

C's

# 9 Breakaway Dixie (ML 12-1)

Flying Tee was victorious each of the last two times that she competed at this class level.  Close the Show Lo and Tiz a Tommy Town took the Place and Show, respectively, last time out at this class level.  Breakaway Dixie took the Show the last time that she competed at this class level around two turns.

RACE 9 - (F) Md $12.5k - Eight Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 1 She's Pretty Windy (ML 9-5)

B's

# 2 Big Adventure (ML 2-1)
# 5 Austria (ML 10-1)
# 7 Hellacious Hadlee (ML 3-1)

C's

None

She's Pretty Windy took the Show at this class level last time out.  Big Adventure ships in from downstate and could move up with the class drop.  Austria stretches out to two turns while dropping in class for her third career start.  Hellacious Hadlee may be settling for too many minor awards; but Hellacious Hadlee is the one that they'll have to catch if they want to win.

OK, that's the analysis.  Playing our tickets in Crist fashion, we get:

All A Entries

$1.00 P4: 4 with 4 with 6 with 1 $1.00

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.50 P4: 4,6,7 with 4,8 with 1,3,6 with 1,2,5,7 $36.00

A's with One C

$0.50 P4: 3 with 4 with 6 with 1 $0.50
$0.50 P4: 4 with 1,2,6 with 6 with 1 $1.50
$0.50 P4: 4 with 4 with 9 with 1 $0.50

Total: $39.50

Post Time for Race 6 is 6:15 EST / 3:15 PST.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
