7/21/18 Del Mar Late Pick Four - Results

Race 7 - The San Diego - # 1 Catalina Cruiser (Final Odds 1.30*) - "B" & "C" Selection*
Race 8 - The San Clemente - # 10 War Heroine (5.90) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 10 Rowayton (0.80*) - "B" Selection
Race 10 - # 8 Camino Song (Ire) (2.80*) - "A" Selection

* # 8 El Huerfano, a backup "C" Selection, was a late scratch from The San Diego, so I received Catalina Cruiser, the Post Time Favorite, in his place.

Few things will make you feel more foolish in this game than using several runners in a leg that winds up being won by the Post Time Favorite, as was the case in three of the four contests above.  Conversely, this game will make you feel smarter than you probably should those times that you leave the Post Time Favorite off your big ticket and still catch the winner, as I did in the San Clemente; as Post Time Favorite and backup "C" Selection # 2 Ms Bad Behavior (2.50*) could do no better than third.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 6 Resolu (45.40) - $1,140.70 Finish: 8th
# 9 Innocent (4.20) - $117.80 Finish: 2nd
# 11 Party Dancer (8.10) - $185.30 Finish: 7th

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 10 / 10 / 8  which paid $100.20 for a fifty cent wager.  That makes for a profit of $19.70 on my initial $80.50 investment, or approximate odds of 0.24-1.  And while that sure ain't much, one thing you will never see me do here is turn my nose up at profit.

I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
