8/25/18 Del Mar Late Pick Four - Results

Race 7 - The Pat O'Brien - # 1 Catalina Cruiser (Final Odds 0.20*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - # 7 Regal Born (5.70) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - DEAD HEAT # 1 Kona Coast (3.30) - "B" Selection / # 5 Shirl's Ready (12.00) - "C" Selection
Race 10 - # 6 Novio (Ire) 2.70 - "A" Selection

Hindsight being twenty-twenty, the doubling of the cost of the big ticket with the inclusion of # 8 Battle of Midway (2.60) along with Catalina Cruiser in the Pat O'Brien was an error; but I still feel that move was justified, as Battle of Midway's poor start created an unforeseen circumstance that, had it not occurred, could have altered the outcome of that event.  Anyway, good Lord willing these two will have their rematch in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile this Fall.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 4 Paladar (5.00) - $140.60 Finish: 10th
# 8 Henry County (5.70) - $105.00 Finish: 6th
# 10 Sellwood (2.30*) - $56.65 Finish: 2nd

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of  1 / 7 / 1,5 / 6  which paid $64.05 for a fifty cent wager; significantly less than my initial investment of $97.  So while I cashed Saturday, I certainly didn't win.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
