8/10/13 Del Mar Late Pick Four - Results

We came; we saw; we won three out of four.

We discussed the winning chances of # 3 Holy Lute (4.20) in Race 7 at Del Mar Saturday; but ultimately we decided to play against, based upon the poor meet Trainer James Cassidy was having, along with the jockey switch from Mike Smith to David Flores.  So when Holy Lute won clear over our two "A" selections, # 4 Imperial Fortune (1.50*) and # 2 Proven Warrior (5.30), who took the Place and Show respectively, our tickets became nothing but souvenirs.

We captured victory with "A" selections in both Race 8 (# 8 Dice Flavor (8.90)) and Race 10 (# 8 Cinco de Mario (3.30)); while one of our "C" contenders, # 9 Glorious Luck (7.90), crossed the wire ahead of the rest of the field in Race 9.  So when the synthetic dust from the polytrack had settled, we had a $24 ticket of

RACE 7: 2, 4

RACE 8: 3, 4, 8

RACE 9: 2, 4, 7, 9

RACE 10: 3, 8

containing winners in three legs, plus the Place (and Show) horse in the other leg.  Which, as you all know, is worth absolutely nothing; thus making our net loss on the day $47.00.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who played the correct winning sequence of  3 / 8 / 9 / 8  were rewarded with a payout of $1,135.75 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
