We started watching Gypsy Friday based upon her performance in this race back in June of 2012. Wednesday, Gypsy Friday made her second start of 2013, in Race 8 at Del Mar.
Breaking quickly from the rail, Gypsy Friday (Final Odds 7.90) grabbed the early lead, setting early fractions of 22.85 for the first quarter and 45.95 for the half. Gypsy Friday was still leading the pack as the field entered the stretch; but she couldn't hold on, and finished third, two and a quarter lengths behind Suances Pride (4.50).
