9/27/13 STK R7 - Horse Watch Follow-Up

City Chapel found his way to the winners circle Friday in Race 7 at Stockton, the third time that he's crossed the wire first for Trainer/Owner Victor Trujillo in the last thirteen months.  The event was a $12.5k Claimer (NW2L X) run at a distance of six furlongs over God made dirt.  City Chapel (Final Odds 3.30) settled early; shifted out in the stretch; found himself behind a wall of horses; shifted back in; split horses; and won by a neck.

For those unfamiliar with the story, we've been following City Chapel since last August, when Victor Trujillo claimed him for $4,000 out of a race in which City Chapel went to post at nearly 30-1 and finished out of the money.  Since that event City Chapel has (including Friday's race) competed seventeen times for the Trujillo barn, posting three wins, five second place finishes, and four third place finishes.  City Chapel's total purse winnings for Victor Trujillo (including the $9,350 which he earned with Friday's victory) now stands at $40,205.  Obviously, the $4k Trujillo invested to get City Chapel was money well spent.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
