We started the year off right by winning the photo in the opening leg, as Boller Bomb refused to let # 9 High Jinks (Brz) (12.50) pass her at the wire. And we correctly spotted a vulnerable favorite in # 5 Betty Bing Bing (2.70*) in the next leg. Unfortunately, we had no part of Glorious Rebecca in that event, and thus failed to convert on our correct appraisal of the favorite. But leaving Glorious Rebecca out of our play was not our only mistake; for even if we had used her as an "A" Contender our tickets were still doomed, as the next two legs were both won by "C" Selections, which is one "C" Selection more than allowable for us to cash.
So we got off to a good start but it was all for naught, as our Late Pick Four results in a Net Loss of $33.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who played the correct Pick Four sequence of 8 / 11 / 6 / 6 were rewarded with a payout of $519.60 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
