3/29/14 The Louisiana Derby - Results

Fair Grounds Race 11 - The Louisiana Derby - # 6 Vicar's in Trouble (Final Odds 3.30)

There was no bad trip today; no taking the scenic route around the track; as Jockey Rosie Napravnik hustled Vicar's in Trouble straight to the lead right out of the gate, and together they took the rest of the field gate to wire, winning the one hundred first running of The Louisiana Derby by three and a half lengths.  # 1 Intense Holiday (1.90*) took the Place, while # 7 Commanding Curve (13.10) rounded out the Trifecta.

Vicar's in Trouble wasn't ignored in the betting as we had hoped following his third place finish in The Risen Star; in fact, he went off at less than his Morning Line Odds of 4-1.  But you'll hear no complaints here, for as my good buddy Sully would say, no one ever went broke cashing tickets.  I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
