9/21/14 Los Alamitos Race Course Pick Five - Results

Race 1 - # 2 Every May (Final Odds 2.20) - "A" Selection
Race 2 - # 10 Valdirone (0.40*) - "A" Selection
Race 3 - # 1 Song to You (6.10) - "A" Selection
Race 4 - # 3 Sandy's Song (1.20*) - "A" Selection
Race 5 - The Las Madrinas - # 4 Irish Presence (2.30) - "C" Selection

As I mentioned in a post a couple of weeks ago, it's always nice to be holding four Aces.  It's also always nice to have Providence on your side; as it seems we did indeed release all the bad luck out of our system yesterday, because we sure were rewarded with a lot of good fortune today.

Every May refused to load in the opening leg; got loose; and ran around the seven furlong chute for a couple minutes before finally being corralled right before the start of Race 1.  Didn't matter, as he was very much the best.

# 4 Rusty Road (8.50), who was nowhere to be found on our tickets, did all the heavy lifting in Race 3, leading every step of the way from out of the gate right up until the wire, where he was nipped in a head bob by Song to You.  So, yeah, luck was definitely on our side today.

For the record, here are the Will Pays for the other three horses in the field in the finale; the two "A" Selections that we had covered for two dollars, and the other "C" Selection that we had fifty cents on:

$2 Pick Five Will Pays

# 3 Legacy (2.00) $799.20
# 5 My Happy Face (1.30*) $646.40

$0.50 Pick Five Will Pays

# 1 Zilber (5.80) $951.75

But that's what might have been.  What actually came to be was a Pick Five sequence of  2 / 10 / 1 / 3 / 4  which paid $352.60 for a fifty cent wager.  I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.

Onto the next race!

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
