We were correct to have our suspicions about # 1 Palace (1.35*) in the Vosburgh; unfortunately we looked for backup in the wrong places, as the three "C" Selections that we had backing up Palace all finished in back of him. Meanwhile, Private Zone becomes just the third horse in the seventy-five runnings of the Vosburgh to win the event in back-to-back years (for those curious, the other two are Sewickley and Dr. Fager; thanks to DRF's David Grening for that bit of information).
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 9 / 7 / 5 / 8 were rewarded with a payout of $159.50 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
