9/6/14 Los Alamitos Race Course Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - The Beverly J. Lewis - # 4 Uzziel (Final Odds 4.10) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - # 9 When We Met (1.60*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Los Alamitos Mile - #6 Soi Phet (4.80) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - # 6 Hold Everything (4.50) - "A" Selection

It's always nice to be holding four Aces; and having only one of them be the Post Time Favorite makes it that much sweeter still.  It's also nice to go into final leg of a sequence in Southern California and just needing the Bob Baffert horse to win in order to collect.

Still, while the results were good, we did make mistakes.  We should have recognized When We Met as a standout in Race 7; and the question marks surrounding Clubhouse Ride in the Los Alamitos Mile should have been enough to keep him off our tickets.  So it wasn't a perfect day; but it was still pretty darn good; and I'd be beyond ecstatic if I could have one just like it every time I wagered on a race.

For the record, the $0.50 Will Pay for our "C" Selection in the finale, # 7 Fast Mast (1.00) was $123.85, while the $1.00 Will Pay for our other "A" Selection, # 2 Royal Tale (2.90) was $389.20.  Meanwhile, the correct Pick Four sequence of  4 / 9 / 6 / 6  paid $326.25 for a fifty cent wager; since we had it for a dollar, we collect $652.50.  I hope you all had it with me.  May God bless us as we spend our winnings.
