The Equibase charts to which I linked above currently give the track condition as Firm for all the turf races and Fast for all the dirt races; that's definitely not accurate, so hopefully the good people at Equibase.com will soon correct that. The dirt track in fact did go from Fast to Sloppy, while the turf course made the trek from Firm to Good to Yielding as the rains came down in South Florida. Indeed, the softening of the grass led to Trainer Christophe Clement scratching his runners from the two stakes contests after the beginning of the sequence, thus giving those (like us) with the Clement horses on our tickets the Post Time Favorite in their place in each race. The change, as you can see, had no effect on us, as we were knocked out right in the very first leg. We wind up with four winners; an excellent showing when playing a Pick Four, but not so much when trying to take down the Rainbow Six.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Rainbow Six sequence of 1 / 7 / 8 / 3 / 9 / 4 were rewarded with a $14,504.92 payout for their twenty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
