Race 9 - # 1 Somethings Unusual (6.80) - "B" Selection
We've seen this before, so we know how this works: we had 'em all, but not all on any one ticket.
Chiropractor certainly fit as at least a "B" Selection in The Hollywood Derby based upon the Beyer Speed Figure and the Brisnet Late Pace figure that he had earned in his last race. But I felt that a "C" Selection was more appropriate based upon Chiropractor's limited career earnings and his complete lack of any stakes experience prior to running in this Grade 1 event. It was a miscalculation on my part, and it cost us, as we found ourselves today contributing instead of cashing.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 7 / 4 / 3 / 1 were rewarded with a payout of $849.15 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
