12/5/15 Los Alamitos Race Course Late Pick Four - Results

Race 6 - # 6 Red Toro (Final Odds 5.50) - "B" Selection
Race 7 - # 5 Privileged One (1.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 8 - The Soviet Problem - # 3 Roo's Valentine (2.50) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - # 11 Zorro's Storm (16.80) - No Selection

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other runners to which we were alive in the finale:

# 4 Small Town Shuffle (2.10*) - $149.75 Finish: 4th
# 7 Five Star Jack (2.80) - $197.45 Finish: 3rd
# 8 Swiss Missile (4.50) - $376.05 Finish: 5th

But such was not to be.

The winner of the finale, Zorro's Storm, had entered today's race after having finished sixth his last time out, seventeen lengths behind the winner, in a contest at today's class level.  Zorro's Storm had earned a Beyer's Speed Figure of seventeen for that effort, making it the best result of his three race career, both in terms of speed figure earned and distance from the winner at the wire.  Four of Zorro's Storm's opponents today had earned a Beyer's Speed Figure at least double that seventeen in their most recent races.

Still, Zorro's Storm had shown some quick foot in two of his prior starts; and his Jockey / Trainer tandem of Edwin Maldonado and Jorge Periban have shown themselves to be better together than separately.  And besides, we didn't have the Place horse, # 2 Star Express (8.20) either, so we weren't going to win this race regardless of what Zorro's Storm did.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of  6 / 5 / 3 / 11  were rewarded with a payout of $1,038.10 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
