I had strongly considered making # 4 Li'l Grazen (2.90) in the second leg of the sequence my big ticket single, either along with or instead of Tasunke Witco, who was my big ticket single in the third leg. Fortunately I decided against that move and instead used two others in addition to Li'l Grazen in Race 8; and since one of those two was Dangerously Close, Sunday became a day for me to collect rather than contribute.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other four runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:
# 3 Royal Seeker (12.00) - $588.50 Finish: 8th
# 5 Spend It (5.50) - $225.45 Finish: 6th
# 8 Is Trevor Clever (2.00*) - $135.40 Finish: 3rd
# 10 Mr. Matlock (2.90) - $213.70 Finish: 5th
But that's what might have been. What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of 6 / 5 / 8 / 2 which paid $301.75 for a fifty cent wager. That makes for a profit of $265.75 on my initial $36 investment, or approximate odds of 7.38-1.
