Race 9 - # 5 Spanish Hombre (2.50*) - "A" & "C" Selection*
*In Race 9, the winner, Spanish Hombre, was an "A" Selection. # 4 Midnight Pleasure, a "C" Selection, was a late scratch, so I received Spanish Hombre, the Post Time Favorite, in his stead.
City of Light won the Malibu by rushing up to grab the early lead, and then never being headed. In retrospect, projecting City of Light to be the pacesetter in Race 8 was not a difficult chore; and while City of Light's form may not have justified making him an "A" Selection, he certainly warranted a spot in my play. So while his exclusion in and of itself was not what kept me from collecting Tuesday, it was an error that hopefully I will not repeat any time soon.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of 5 / 3 / 1 / 5 were rewarded with a payout of $128.55 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
