Fours were certainly wild in The Late Pick Four sequence at Santa Anita. But that was about all that was wild in the final four contests on Friday's card, as the results were quite formful, with half the events being won by the Post Time Favorite, and no winner in the sequence paying above $9.40.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:
# 2 Hot American (1.50) - $89.50 Finish: 3rd
# 5 Taniko (5.40) - $198.50 Finish: 7th
# 6 Dreams of Valor (10.20) - $320.65 Finish: 4th
But that's what might have been. What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of 4 / 4 / 4 / 4 which paid $55.95 for a fifty cent wager. Since my initial investment was $81, I cash at a loss of twenty-five dollars and five cents; and while that certainly beats not cashing at all, it definitely wasn’t what I had in mind when I placed my wagers.
