5/19/18 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

Race 9 - The Fran's Valentine - # 8 Cordiality (Final Odds 4.60) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - # 12 Nova (2.30*) - "A" Selection
Race 11 - # 3 Two Thirty Five (6.40) - "C" Selection
Race 12 - # 6 Ky. Colonel (10.40) - No Selection

In the nightcap at Santa Anita, "A" Selection # 1 Broken Up (7.50) took the lead in the home stretch away from # 8 Secreto Primero (3.00*); but Broken Up couldn't last until the wire, being passed in the final strides by # 6 Ky Colonel (10.40), who hit the line a neck in front of Broken Up to win the nightcap.  And that neck was the difference Saturday between collecting and contributing, as a Broken Up victory would have meant cashing one of the backup tickets.

Oh well; onto the next race.

For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the two runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:

# 1 Broken Up (7.50) - $1,231.80 Finish: 2nd
# 12 General Ike (3.80) - $777.05 Finish: 6th

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Late Pick Four sequence of  8 / 12 / 3 / 6  were rewarded with a payout of $2,154.70 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
