My play started well and ended well, with "A" Selections on both ends. But as was the case last year, # 10 Beach Patrol (1.60*) disappointed as the Post Time Favorite in the Turf Classic, taking the Place less than a length behind the winner. Which was probably just as well as far as my play was concerned, because there was no way I was finding the winner of the Pat Day Mile, the aptly named (for the weather) Funny Duck, nor the Place finisher in that contest, # 3 New York Central (31.50), without hitting the "ALL" button.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Congrats to Justify, a magnificent runner, as well as to Trainer Bob Baffert, Jockey Mike Smith, and Owners China Horse Club, Head of Plains Partners LLC, Starlight Racing, and Winstar Farms.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Kentucky Derby Pick Four sequence of 10 / 4 / 9 / 7 were rewarded with a payout of $69,885.15 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
