6/12/16 Golden Gate Fields Golden Pick 6 - Preview

The Golden Pick Six has a current carryover of $1.4 million, and Sunday is mandatory payout day.  What more do you need to know by way of introduction?  So let's get to it, as we take a run at The Golden Pick Six at the place where the Bay comes to play.

RACE 7 - MSW - Five Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 4 Shackmeister (Morning Line 7-2)

B's

None

C's

# 3 Llobo (ML 12-1)
# 6 Justice Due (ML 6-1)
# 7 Gallant Heat (ML 9-2)
# 10 Thetimeiznow (ML 12-1)

Scratch # 9 Manila Mischief (No Line)

Shackmeister is a first time starter trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, who does quite well when sending out runners for their debut.

Llobo is sired by Tribal Rule, whose progeny tend to do well at first asking.    Thetimeiznow is a first time starter trained by Bill Morey, who often succeeds when sending out runners for their first try.  Justice Due and Gallant Heat are the only experienced entrants in this field.  Justice Due flashed some early speed in his debut, while Gallant Heat took the Place at this class level his first time out.

RACE 8 - (F) OC 62k/N2X - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Elegant Bel (ML 2-1)
# 5 Dreamarcher (ML 8-1)

B’s

# 8 Castellani (ML 7-2)

C's

None

Scratch # 1 Miss Forty Niner (ML 20-1)

Elegant Bel won at this level last time out, with Dreamarcher just a neck behind at the wire.  Castellani is a new shooter with this group.  While many of these have faced each other multiple times, Castellani has done most of her running in the Eastern Time Zone, and she seems so far to be enjoying her new work environment.  Look for Elegant Bel up front early, with Castellani not too far behind, and Dreamarcher doing the best running late.

RACE 9 - OC 32k/N1X - Eight and a Half Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 2 Press Baron (GB) (ML 8-1)
# 7 Crusher (ML 7-2)

B’s

# 1 Argyle Cut (ML 8-1)
# 3 Foxtrot Romeo (Ire) (ML 5-2)
# 4 Beast of Bourbon (ML 12-1)
# 5 Freddies Dream (ML 4-1)
# 6 Larry Birdstone (ML 3-1)

C's

None

Press Baron (GB) was victorious the last time that he routed over this main track.  Crusher has finished in the Trifecta nine of the eleven times that he has competed over this main track.

The "B's" are everyone else.  Freddies Dream and Larry Birdstone are competing for the first time in their respective careers on a synthetic surface, so there's no way to be completely confident regarding how they each will handle it.  The rest of the field seems to be comprised of runners who are all competitive at this class level but seem to have a strong aversion to the Winner's Circle; so the "ALL" button it is.

RACE 10 - Clm $16k - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 3 Allthatnmore (ML 5-1)

B’s

# 10 A Little Luckier (ML 6-1)

C's

None

Scratch # 8 Tebowing (ML 12-1)

Allthatnmore too the Show against more expensive last time out.  A Little Luckier took the Place in two of his last three starts over this turf course, both against more expensive.

RACE 11 - Clm $12.5k - Six Furlongs Synthetic

A’s

# 5 Dutchessa (GB) (ML 5-2)
# 6 Run Sophia Run (ML 2-1)

B’s

None

C's

None

Scratch # 8 Good Stats (ML 10-1)

Dutchessa (GB) was victorious at this class level last time out over this main track.  Run Sophia Run drops in class after finishing in the Trifecta in each of her last three starts, all against more expensive.

RACE 12 - (F) Md $20k - Eight Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 6 Belle's Command (ML 20-1)
# 8 Thegirlwiththecurl (ML 9-2)

B's

# 7 Slew's Charm (ML 5-2)

C's

None

Scratch the two Also Eligibles, # 13 Madame Clouet (ML 7-2) and # 14 Coronado Cool (ML 5-1)

Belle's Command has finished in the Trifecta at this class level in each of her last two starts, albeit on the synthetic main track.  Thegirlwiththecurl looks much improved since switching to the grass.  Slew's Charm will be trying to prove that the twentieth time's the charm; not the most profitable of angles, but it's worth noting that only three of those tries were on the turf.

OK, that's the analysis.  Since today is a mandatory payout day we can press our "A" Selections without fear of killing our jackpot chances.  So with that, playing our tickets in Crist fashion, we get:

All A Entries

$0.40 P6:  4 with 2,5 with 2,7 with 3 with 5,6 with 6,8 $6.40

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.20 P6: 4 with 2,5,8 with ALL with 3,10 with 5,6 with 6,7,8 $50.40

A's with One C

$0.20 P6:  3,6,7,10 with 2,5 with 2,7 with 3 with 5,6 with 6,8 $12.80

Total: $69.60

Post Time for Race 7 is 7:02 EDT / 4:02 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
