After the running of Race 8 on the turf, the jockeys convened and concluded that the turf course was not safe for further racing. The jockeys' decision was relayed to management, which announced at the conclusion of Race 9 (which was run over the main track, as scheduled) that the two remaining turf contests, Races 10 and 12, would be moved off the turf course and onto the main track. Since the surface switch was announced after the multi-race sequence had commenced, for purposes of The Golden Pick Six (as well as The Late Pick Four) all horses entered would be considered to have won.
Basically it's the same as if all horses in each of those two races had finished in a Dead Heat for first. So no matter who you had for those two legs you won; and you won for each entrant you used on those two legs. So if, for example, you went two deep in Race 10 and three deep in Race 12, you had the winning sequence six times (two times three). Provided, of course, that you had the winner in the other four legs.
Which we did not; as we had no part whatsoever of Bottle Blonde (GB) in Race 8.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Golden Pick Six sequence of 2,3 / 7 / 3 / ALL / 5 / ALL were rewarded with a payout of $146.16 for their twenty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
