6/30/16 Gulfstream Park Rainbow 6 - Preview

June 30 is the final day of the fiscal year for the state of Florida, so for that reason there will be a mandatory payout Thursday of Gulfstream Park's Jackpot Rainbow Pick Six.  There's already over $100k in the pool before the windows open, so expect the final distributable amount to be several multiples of that figure.  So let's get to it, as we take a run at The Rainbow Six at the home of the world's richest horse race.

RACE 5 - (F) Md $50k - Six Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 3 Ginger Rush (Morning Line 5-2)
# 5 Avery Maeve (ML 3-1)

B's

None

C's

# 2 Pat's Courage (ML 4-1)

Ginger Rush missed graduation by less than a length against non-claiming maidens the last time that she competed on the main track.  While this is Ginger Rush's first time up for sale in a race, it's difficult to call this a class drop, as all the other experienced runners in here save one are also running for a tag for the first time.  That one exception, the one that has competed in a maiden claiming event previously, is Avery Maeve, who showed good early speed in her debut last time out and looks to be the one to catch.  Pat's Courage took the Show in her debut last time out against non-claiming maidens.

RACE 6 - Md $12.5k - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 7 No Hit No Run (ML 7-2)

B's

# 6 Tout Vient (ML 4-1)

C's

# 2 Pioneer Pete (ML 6-1)
# 9 Spark to Ignite (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 8 Caribou Cat (ML 3-1)
No Hit No Run took the Show against more expensive last time out in his first try on the grass.  Tout Vient should appreciate the turnback in distance.

Pioneer Pete missed graduation by just a head against more expensive two starts back; but that start was over a year ago.  Spark to Ignite has shown good early speed in the past against more expensive stock.

RACE 7 - (F) Clm $30k B - Six and a Half Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 7 Didnotmeanit (ML 2-1)

B’s

# 1 R Kinsley Doll (ML 7-2)
# 3 Will Be Magical (ML 8-1)
# 4 Heartbreaker Girl (ML 4-1)

C's

None

The conditions limit this contest to horses that have never won two races in their lifetime; unless they are three years old, in which case there is no limit on how many prior victories they may have in their career.

Didnotmeanit has twice this year won by over a half dozen lengths against stiffer competition over this main track.  R Kinsley Doll took the Place against much more expensive two starts back.  Will Be Magical may have needed that last race, and could move forward today.  Heartbreaker Girl took the Place at this class level last time out.

RACE 8 - (F) MSW - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 6 Ana's Pride (ML 3-1)

B's

# 2 Perhaps Some Drama (ML 6-1)
# 7 Broadway Broad (ML 5-1)
# 8 Fortune Heir (ML 4-1)

C's

# 5 Awesome Meow (ML 10-1)

Scratch # 1 First Punch (ML 20-1).  I expect # 11 Easier (ML 6-1) will also be scratched, as she was entered for the main track only; and while thunderstorms are a possibility later today, the turf course is currently listed as firm.

Ana's Pride missed graduation by less than a length the only previous time that she sprinted on the grass.  Perhaps Some Drama showed good early speed in her debut last time out.

Broadway Broad took the Show in her debut at this class level last time out.  Awesome Meow and Fortune Heir are a paid of first time starters trained by Mark Casse and sired by a pair of stallions (Awesome of Course and Wildcat Heir) whose progeny tend to do well at first asking.

RACE 9 - (F) Clm $6.25k - Seven Furlongs Dirt

A’s

# 2 Flash Jak (ML 3-1)

B’s

None

C's

# 3 Twinkling Time (ML 7-2)
# 6 Breach of Duty (ML 4-1)

Flash Jak won at this class level at today's distance over this main track last time out, and looks like an excellent candidate to repeat.  Twinkling Time took the Show behind Flash Jak in that win.  Breach of Duty could be quickest early.

RACE 10 - (F) Clm $10k N2L - Five Furlongs Turf

A’s

# 3 Don's Girl (ML 5-1)

B’s

# 6 Dreaming of Eva (ML 6-1)
# 10 First Salute (ML 10-1)

C's

# 1 Love Flute (ML 8-1)
# 4 Red Hot n' Boom (ML 15-1)

Scratch # 8 Revolver Sessions (ML 3-1) and # 9 Lady Nura (Ire) (ML 4-1)

Don's Girl took the Place at this class level last time out.  Don's Girl's form looks much better if you focus on just the turf sprints.

Dreaming of Eva and First Salute are both trying winners for the first time; but both should be forwardly placed early.  Love Flute settles for way too many minor awards; but her talent must be respected.  Red Hot n' Boom deserves another chance on the grass.

OK, that's the analysis.  Since today is a mandatory payout day we can press our "A" Selections without fear of killing our jackpot chances.  So with that, playing our tickets in Crist fashion, we get:

All A Entries with All B Entries

$0.20 P6: 3,5 with 6,7 with 1,3,4,7 with 2,6,7,8 with 2 with 3,6,10 $38.40

$0.20 P6: 3,5 with 2,9 with 7 with 6 with 2 with 3 $0.80
$0.20 P6: 3,5 with 7 with 7 with 5 with 2 with 3 $0.40
$0.20 P6: 3,5 with 7 with 7 with 6 with 3,6 with 3 $0.80
$0.20 P6: 3,5 with 7 with 7 with 6 with 2 with 1,4 $0.80

Total: $43.40

Post Time for Race 5 is 3:21 EDT / 12:21 PDT.  Good luck to all.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
