We used five runners in the opening leg just to find the Post Time Favorite; even worse, we used half the field in the third leg and managed to miss the winner entirely. Still, we did get our big ticket non-Favorite single home in the second leg; and being knocked out in the third leg did spare us the heartache of losing in the finale when Shy Carmelita passed # 7 Desperate Chick (2.30) in the shadow of the wire.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 7 / 1 / 7 / 6 were rewarded with a payout of $610.85 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
