We obviously picked the wrong two races in which to spread; because we went four deep in Race 6 and six deep in Race 7 just to watch the Post Time Favorite win; while we had no part of either winner in the second half of the sequence.
A case could be made that we should have given at least some attention to Lutine Belle in the featured 8th; for while she was making her turf debut with very little turf breeding in her bloodlines, Lutine Belle is trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer and was ridden by Hall of Fame Jockey Alex Solis, and therefore deserved at least a look at such high odds (incidentally, congratulations to Alex Solis on his five thousandth career victory). But as for Solid Wager; man, if you found Solid Wager in the finale, my hat's off to you; and you deserve every penny that you collected on his win.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 10 / 8 / 4 / 5 were rewarded with a payout of $4,340.60 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
