1/3/15 Santa Anita Late Pick Four - Results

"Chaos often breeds life, when order breeds habit." - Henry Brooks Adams

Race 6 - # 2 Hugh Knew (Final Odds 7.40) - "C" Selection
Race 7 - The Santa Ynez - # 1 Seduire (4.30) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - The San Gabriel - # 6 Finnegans Wake (8.00) - No Selection
Race 9 - # 10 Turn On (87.10) - No Selection

It was a day for longshots.  Nobody hit the Pick Five.  Nobody hit the Pick Six.  Nobody hit the Super High Five.  All three of those pools will carryover into Sunday's card.

As for the pool in which we were swimming, our single "A" Selection in the opener, # 6 Cacica Dulima (7.80) dueled on the lead early and had nothing left for the drive, thus finishing out of the money.  Seduire was the "other" Hollendorfer in the Santa Ynez; the "main" Hollendorfer, # 3 Light the City (2.90*) stalked but couldn't pounce, and finished out of the money.

# 8 Skyring (10.60) couldn't make the early lead in the San Gabriel, while # 9 Tom's Tribute (1.70*) didn't have enough late; both finished out of the money.  It was only fitting that such a day should end with an 87-1 shot getting her picture taken, after having lost her last four races by a combined eighty-three and a half lengths.

Oh well; onto the next race.

Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of  2 / 1 / 6 / 10  were rewarded with a payout of $31,993.00 for their fifty cent wager.  May God bless them as they spend their winnings.

Peace and Love,

Jimbo
