Race 8 - # 8 Chasing Aces (0.90*) - "A" Selection
Race 9 - The Eddie Read - # 5 Midnight Storm (1.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 10 - # 4 Kristi's Copilot (2.30*) - "B" Selection
We found The Eddie Read too difficult a race to figure out, so much so that we had to resort to hitting the "ALL" button; but the betting public had no such problem, as they were able to discern the winner, in the form of the Post Time Favorite. Likewise with the juvenile maiden contest that preceded it, as we used three "A" Selections only to see the odds-on Favorite not just win, but set a new track record in the process.
In addition, it was a huge mistake on our part not having any piece at all of the opening leg winner, Barleysugar (Ire); as Barleysugar is the type of runner we often recommend: a European import that showed good early speed in his races across the pond. In the final tally this is a sequence I really wish that we could have back, as several unforced errors on our part made this a day for us to contribute instead of cash.
Oh well; onto the next race.
