While we had no part of either of the second half winners, our biggest mistake today may have come much earlier in the sequence; specifically in the opening leg, where we used five runners (four on our big ticket) just to bring home the 11-10 Favorite. Trying to beat legitimate Favorites just may be the quickest way to blow through your bankroll, a lesson we were taught once again today; because even though we had the winner of the opener on our tickets, spreading as wide as we did in that leg meant making our play more expensive than it needed to be, as well as denying us the opportunity to use additional runners in the more contentious races without going over budget.
Oh well; onto the next race.
Meanwhile, those who had the correct Pick Four sequence of 7 / 3 / 4 / 8 were rewarded with a payout of $1,343.95 for their fifty cent wager. May God bless them as they spend their winnings.
